Abstract

A structure (10) for enhancing the stability of a midsole (14) including a plurality of strands (50) which extend from a position on top of the midsole (14) to a location secured to the bottom of the midsole. The strands (50) are preferably secured to an energy return system (20) which is positioned on top of the midsole.
