Abstract
A system and method for arranging concept clusters (44-46) in thematic relationship in a two-dimensional visual display space (81) is described. A
plurality of stored clusters (17) are selected from a multi-dimensional visualization space (30) sharing a common theme including at least one concept (31). Each theme logically represents one or more concepts (31) based on terms extracted from a document set (21). Each cluster (44-46) not yet grouped from the selected clusters (17) for the shared common theme is combined in order into a list of placeable clusters (42). Each clusters list (42) is grafted into a grouping of one or more other clusters lists (44-46) at an anchor point (52). The anchor point includes an open edge (55) formed along a vector (54) defined from the center (53) of one such cluster (52) in the grouping (44~46).
The clusters in each other clusters list (44-46) share at least one concept (31) represented in the shared common theme.
