Abstract

背景技术
传统上,当用户请求数据消息的时候,大多数的数据消息已经通过无线电网络被实时发送。这种“现在传送(Deliver Now)”的习惯作法在不断增长的基于文本的消息或者蜂窝网络的语音业务的领域中被广泛应用。实时传送数据忽视了无线网络数据业务不均衡分布的事实。最大的网络容量被标以大小,以匹配网络的负载峰值,从而在网络中留下了大量未使用的容量。典型地,在一天二十四个小时的周期(除在办公期间的一些业务高峰之外)中,大半的网络容量是未使用的。
在无线网络上典型的消息传送系统由于严格遵守小的文件大小要求而得以维持。在需要时就传送较大的文件大小内容,诸如视频剪辑(clip)或者图像文件到终端用户的无线网络的费用惊人地昂贵并且还耗费时间。许多当前的无线网络传送系统通过增加附加网络基站和微调编码技术已经处理了这个问题。这些方法只会带来附加容量,而不能降低经无线网络发送实际数据的成本。如果发送设备试着去发送一个消息,而接收器不是可用的(例如,终端被关闭),服务中心继续发送消息,直至该消息可以到达接收器设备(服务中心试图发送消息的时间量可以被限制在一个预确定的时间窗内)。

发明内容
在本发明的一个优选实施例中,提供了一种系统和方法,由此一个已经请求内容的用户从他的或者她的无线终端设备(诸如,蜂窝电话)选择一个内容传送类别。消息内容的传送类别可以由用户在事务处理的基础上或基于预约进行选择并且预先定义在一个用户简档(profile)中。内容作为一个消息而被传送,该消息优选地由三个部分组成:一个消息标题(例如,源和目的地址,消息标识和类型等等);一个消息体(body),其实质上是所述内容;和一个传送类别字段,识别由用户所选择的传送消息内容的类别。用户优选地可以从至少两个传送类别中选择:以实时方式的“现在传送”;或者一个指定的“延时传送”。“延时传送”指的是一个传送内容的预确定时间窗,并且基于定义的延迟可以被进一步划分为类别。“延时传送”类别允许无线网络在此网络被最少使用的时候去发送内容。
在优选实施例中,一个用户的内容请求被发送到内容/服务提供者,其利用请求信息生成一个内容传送消息,包括内容和传送类别在内。内容/服务提供者将消息转送(relay)到一个负责传送此消息给用户的消息传送系统(MTS),或者直接转送到移动内容传送(MCD)系统。所选择的MCD系统用作一个调度的传送引擎,通过通知消息传送系统,计算内容传送消息将被发送的预先确定的时间窗。优选地考虑像传送类别,在无线电网络中的无线电设备位置,无线网络使用率和相对容量(实际上的和历史上发生的),以及在预确定的时间窗中可以传送内容的大小这样的信息来计算传送时间窗。在内容传送消息被传送之前的一个短周期,无线电设备的位置被确定,在无线电设备上的实际网络负荷条件被确定,并且与历史信息(“负荷曲线”)相比。如果条件是正确的,消息被经由蜂窝网络发送给终端用户的无线电设备。

图1示出本发明的无线网络的一个实施例,由此一个人可以使用手持式无线终端30(例如,蜂窝电话)而被允许借助于一个浏览器去经由诸如因特网的数据网络,从内容/服务提供者13观看、选择和指定一个用于基于万维网的内容的传送类别。在另一个实施例中,根据目的地址、内容类型、内容提供者和与运营商的发送器协议,可以自动地为用户选择传送类别,发送器协议伴有由MCD系统中包含的收费装置为每个用户收集的帐单(billing)信息。在这个实施例中,内容/服务提供者13生成一个具有用户选择的内容和传送类别两者的消息,该消息发送给一个消息传送系统(MTS)12,该系统分析无线终端的性能和状态,并且能够传送内容消息给无线终端设备30。在一个特定的实施例中,MTS 12充当一个在无线网络上提供的所有内容的守门装置(gatekeeper),并且也可能根据内容或者其他的网络参数来选择传送类别。
MTS 12发送消息给一个描述本发明实施例的移动内容传送(MCD)系统11。通过分析传送类别、无线设备位置、现有网络活动负载(network activity loading)和内容大小,同时考虑商定的用户最大传送时间,该MCD系统11调度(schedule)内容的传送时间窗口。假定终端用户不选择“现在传送”作为传送类别,给MCD系统11提供传送时间窗口灵活性。MCD系统11优选地还跟踪先前的消息传送,以便无需超越商定的用户最大传送时间,在一个更节省成本的网络活动时间窗口上适当地预测和调度未来的消息传送。在下文中结合图3将详细地论述移动内容传送系统11。

图7说明由于本发明的实施例而向服务运营商提供的一些优点。曲线表示一个在现今市场上可用的商业服务的可能阵列,从话音和基于文本的消息传送到实时视频。在以每兆字节(MB)1至100单位的相对成本因素(cost factor)的消息传送、话音或者等效服务中通常发现的小的内容文件大小允许服务运营商实质上无需遭受由于带宽限制引起的成本尖峰(spike)而实时传送这种类型的内容。但是,如果没有本发明,由于无线网络带宽限制,实时传送具有大文件尺寸的内容(诸如图像文件和MP3音乐文件)将难以管理,尤其是在高峰业务小时期间。 此外,用户可以被适度地对这样大的传送向用户收费的每MB的低零售成本对于服务运营商来说将使其几乎在经济上是不可行的。本发明引入延时传送区域的选择,其中相对成本因素“X”被降低到X的一小部分。在这个区域中,当一个无线网络对带宽具有较少需要时,能够传送具有图像和MP3文件的的文件大小的内容,其降低内容传送给用户的总成本。本发明也通过在一个更长的时间周期之上分配业务来使之有可能降低当前的业务高峰。这个时间延迟传送使之对于服务运营商在这个文件大小的范围(spectrum)中传送内容是经济上可行的。
最后,需要最多的网络带宽的内容的第三范围是图形丰富的浏览和实时视频文件。在没有本发明的情况下,服务运营商只能对相对于其可以对消息传送/话音服务收费的每MB的一部分收费。在“现在传送”区域,传送这种类型的大的文件大小消息内容将是费用禁止的。本发明允许大的文件内容消息在一个预定的时间窗上被延时,利用在网络业务负荷分布概况中的低负荷“时间窗”。夜间传送(例如,在24小时内选择一个时间窗)选项可以导致成本因素降低为相对于“现在传送”区域的X的2.5%。在传送高带宽内容给终端用户的费用方面的明显减少将使传送诸如图形丰富的浏览和实时视频的移动服务在经济上是可行的。在图7中示出的三个时间传送区间仅仅是为了说明性的目的,并且可以由运营商或者内容/服务提供者指定。图7的变化可以包括用户经由MCD系统接进(tapping into)其他的数据网络存取机制(例如,WLAN,DVB-T,Bluetooth等等),允许系统操作员按照内容传送定时要求以同样的方式向用户开帐单。
衍生物(ramification)和范围:
虽然上述的描述包括很多的特殊性,但这些仅仅被提供来举例说明本发明,并且不应被理解为限制本发明的范围。因此,对于那些本领域技术人员来说显然,无需脱离本发明的精神或者范围,可以在本发明的系统和方法中进行各种各样的修改和改变。因此,本发明意欲覆盖其落入所附的权利要求书及其等效范围之内的修改和改变。在此上下文中,即使未在此处没有明确地描述,“等效物”指的是用于实现在这些权利要求中的功能的每个实施方案。
Claims (33)
1.经由无线网络传送内容到无线终端设备的用户的一种方法,包括以下步骤:
接收内容传送的请求;
所述请求包括用户、运营商或内容/服务提供者指定的传送类别;
调度所述内容的传送;和
经由所述无线网络将所述内容传送到所述无线终端设备,
该方法进一步包括:从一个无线设备接收内容以便传送到无线网络,并且根据所述无线设备和移动内容传送系统之间的通信来调度传送。
2.经由无线网络传送内容到无线终端设备的用户的一种方法,包括以下步骤:
接收内容传送的请求;
所述请求包括用户、运营商或内容/服务提供者指定的传送类别;
调度所述内容的传送;和
经由所述无线网络将所述内容传送到所述无线终端设备,
其中,所述内容的某些部分被立即传送,而某些部分被延时。
3.根据权利要求2的方法,其中所述传送类别是从由立即传送和延时传送构成的组中选择的。
4.根据权利要求2的方法,进一步包括:根据所述传送类别对传送收费。
5.根据权利要求2的方法,其中所述内容能够被立即传送或被延时。
6.经由无线网络传送内容到无线终端设备的用户的一种方法,包括以下步骤:
接收内容传送的请求;
所述请求包括用户、运营商或内容/服务提供者指定的传送类别;
调度所述内容的传送;和
经由所述无线网络将所述内容传送到所述无线终端设备,
其中,传送时间基于所述传送类别、网络容量使用和内容文件大小。
7.一种移动内容传送MCD系统,包括:
用于保持用户简档的装置;
收费装置,用于生成帐单信息;
定时装置,用于测量用于传送内容传送消息的剩余的绝对时间;
排队装置,用于以剩余时间顺序来放置所述内容传送消息;
定位装置,用于识别无线终端设备位置;
分析装置,用于评估无线网络活动;
接口装置,用于利用不同的传送机制;和
传送调度装置,用于根据无线终端设备所在的区域中所述无线网络活动的评估来调度所述内容的传送。
8.根据权利要求7的MCD系统,其中所述定时装置在消息的排队逻辑中插入一个剩余绝对时间值。
9.根据权利要求8的MCD系统,其中所述传送调度装置通过确定一个小区相对于其容量的使用、消息内容文件大小、用于传送所述消息的剩余的绝对时间和用户位置信息来调度传送。
10.一种移动内容传送无线网络,包括:
无线终端设备,用于浏览内容;
内容提供者,用于提供内容;和
移动内容传送MCD系统,用于从内容提供者接收由无线终端设备的用户请求的内容,其中调度引擎按照传送类别来调度内容传送至无线终端设备的时间。
11.根据权利要求10的移动内容传送无线网络,进一步包括:短消息系统,用于在所述内容传送之前传送一个唤醒消息给所述无线终端设备。
12.根据权利要求10的移动内容传送无线网络,其中所述MCD系统传送所述内容到所述无线终端设备。
13.根据权利要求10的移动内容传送无线网络,进一步包括:传送服务器,用于传送所述内容到所述无线终端设备。
14.根据权利要求10的移动内容传送无线网络,其中所述无线终端设备发送内容,并且根据所述无线终端设备和所述MCD系统之间的通信来调度从无线终端设备至网络的内容传送。
15.根据权利要求10的移动内容传送无线网络,其中所述MCD系统传送所述内容的链接地址到所述无线终端并延迟所述内容的传送,以保证由所述无线终端接收最近的内容。
16.根据权利要求10的移动内容传送无线网络,其中所述MCD系统根据内容大小、正在使用的web服务或在其之后应截取所有业务的特定时间来截取网络业务。
17.一种广域网系统,包括:
多个无线终端设备,其中该无线终端设备中的一个或多个被用在浏览内容、定制内容、指定内容传送的类别中的一个或多个中;
多基站系统配置;
一个或多个基站控制器;
蜂窝网络;
内容/服务提供者;
消息传送系统,其中该消息传送系统将内容传送到所述多个无线终端设备;
短消息系统;和
移动内容传送MCD系统,其中该MCD系统调度内容的传送。
18.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中用户浏览、定制和指定内容传送的所述类别。
19.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中所述无线终端设备发送定址信息、默认消息传送服务器地址和传送类别给内容/服务提供者。
20.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中内容/服务提供者系统发送对用户定址信息、默认消息传送服务器地址和传送类别之类的查询。
21.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中所述内容/服务提供者传送所述内容给所述消息传送系统或所述MCD系统之一。
22.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中所述MCD系统基于所述传送类别、用户位置、网络容量使用和内容文件大小来调度用于所述内容的传送时间窗口。
23.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中所述短消息系统传送一个唤醒消息给所述多个无线终端设备。
24.根据权利要求23的广域网系统,其中一个服务质量QoS参数被附加到所述唤醒消息,以调整经由网络的传送速度。
25.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中所述消息传送系统或传送服务器之一通过所述蜂窝网络传送所述内容给所述多个无线终端设备。
26.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中基于运营商网络结构、无线网络负荷条件和用户简档中的优先设置,通过一个替换网络来传送所述内容。
27.根据权利要求26的广域网系统,其中所述替换网络是因特网、ISDN、ADSL、无线LAN或者Bluetooth网络之一。
28.根据权利要求26的广域网系统,其中通过所述替换网络传送的所述内容被按照所述传送类别向用户开帐单。
29.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中所述MCD系统根据业务流中的数据来执行业务分析以及业务的截取和重定向。
30.根据权利要求17的广域网系统,其中所述MCD系统执行业务分析以及业务流中修改的或新的数据的插入。
31.定制和调度经由无线网络至无线终端设备的用户的内容传送的一种方法,包括以下步骤:
经由所述无线终端设备来查看内容;
从所述无线终端设备定制所述内容;
访问网络中的用户简档;和
从一个类别组中选择延时的传送类别,通过该延时的传送经由所述无线网络传送所述内容给所述无线终端设备。
32.根据权利要求31的方法,其中根据运营商网络结构、无线网络负荷条件和用户简档中的优先设置,通过一个替换网络来传送所述内容。
33.调度从消息传送系统至无线网络的内容传送的一种方法,包括以下步骤:
访问网络中的用户简档;
选择传送类别或使用为用户预先指定的传送类别;
使所述消息传送系统与移动内容传送MCD系统通信,以便根据传送类别来确定用于所述内容传送的最佳时间;和
在所述MCD系统允许时,使所述消息传送系统发送所述内容。
