技术领域

背景技术
发展一种用于实施增强型电视系统的有效方法是当代电视系统设计者和制造商需要着重考虑的。在常规电视系统中,显示器装置可用于观看从节目源接收的节目信息。常规显示装置通常由于各种将显示装置电耦合到所有可用输入装置的物理连接所施加的约束而位于固定位置。例如显示器大小及显示器重量等其他考虑因素也会明显约束传统电视系统的观众移动性。
便携式电视显示器可有利于为观众在选择适合的观看位置时提供额外的灵活性。例如,在家用环境中,便携式电视可容易地重定位以在家中的各个远程位置处观看节目。因此,用户可灵活地观看电视节目,甚至当在远离固定显示装置的位置处执行其他任务时。
然而,便携式电视系统通常拥有某些有害的操作特性,这会降低其在现代电视系统中使用的有效性。例如,为消除约束性物理连接,便携式电视通常接收从远程陆地电视发射机传播到与便携式电视整合的天线的电视信号。由于与便携式天线相关联的大小及位置约束,这种便携式电视通常会表现出相对差的接收特性,且所传输电视信号的后续显示也因此通常具有不充分的质量。

发明内容
根据本发明,揭示一种用于有效实施多房间电视系统的方法。在一个实施例中,首先,多房间电视系统向数字基站提供一个或一个以上节目源,所述数字基站为所述多房间电视系统的不同室或不同位置内的不同用户选择所述节目源。
如果所选节目源含有所请求的视频数据,且不要求覆盖或包含节目指南信息,则数字基站利用媒体输入子系统将节目源视频数据格式化为适合格式、处理所述格式化数据以产生经处理数据(例如,通过转换代码或编码)、并提供所述已处理的节目信息供输出流处理器使用。
如果所选节目源要求覆盖或包含节目指南信息,则媒体输入子系统可首先将节目源视频格式化为适合用于将节目源相组合的格式。对于压缩视频数据来说,这种格式化可包含视频数据的完全或部分解码。媒体输入子系统则通过利用使用覆盖、键控及2D图形操作的某种组合的适合节目指南信息将已格式化的节目源视频信息相组合以产生新的组合视频流。随后,媒体输入子系统处理所述组合视频流,并向输出流处理器提供所述已处理的节目信息。
接下来,输出流处理器将已处理的音频、视频及数据组合为已处理的流。通信处理器随后接收所述已处理流,并作为响应执行网络处理程序以针对有线或无线网络接口产生发射机就绪(transmitter-ready)流。对于有线网络来说,发射机就绪流被提供到适合的LAN或其他有线接口装置以供传输到所需目的地。对无线传输来说,发射机装置接收并调制所述发射机就绪流,并执行无线网络传输过程以向远程TV、远程控制器、辅助基站或任何其他兼容的显示接收机装置传播广播流。
通信处理器可将网络信息从各种有线及无线网络连接反馈到媒体输入子系统。媒体输入子系统使用网络反馈信息以影响视频数据的格式化和处理。编码及转换代码过程可通过了解及利用网络反馈信息而更有效地实现。另外,编码步骤可与前向纠错保护相组合以针对传输信道的信道特性来准备发射机就绪流。通信处理器可在选择针对所处理流的不同元素使用哪种类型的网络协议方面进行其他优化。
一个或一个以上远程TV(或其他兼容的显示接收机装置)可接收来自数字基站的发射流。随后,远程TV中的输入子系统可执行网络处理程序以产生接收流。为准备出传输的音频、视频及数据部分,多路分用器将音频及数据流分离出去,并在将视频处理传递到其他块的一者时执行数据及音频处理。远程TV可包含大量视频解码器,其包含用于MPEG-2高清晰度电视(HDTV)的ATSC解码器,以及能够将包含MPEF-2、MPEG-4、VC1、H.264、向量量化、小波变换、3D小波变换或另一类型的视频压缩的一个或一个以上不同压缩格式解码的解码器。

本发明包含一种用于有效实施多房间电视系统的方法,且包含数字基站,其处理及组合各种节目源以产生已处理的流。随后,通信处理器作为响应将经处理的流作为本地复合流传输到各种固定式及便携式无线显示装置,以供在各种远程位置灵活观看。远程位置处的用户可为其观看的装置选择节目源,且可请求包含节目指南的补充节目信息,其由数字基站提供作为本地复合流的一部分。

现在参照图2,根据本发明的一个实施例显示图1的客户电视152的方块图。图1的实施例还可用于实施系统110中的某些其他显示装置。在图2的实施例中,客户电视152包含但不限于对显示屏幕212的路径及各种输入,其可包含下列的某种组合:具有无线RF接收机214的天线单元240;具有同轴电缆接收机216的同轴电缆244;具有LAN处理器218的有线LAN连接242;具有相关联处理装置220(其可包含1394及USB接收机)一个或一个以上高速数字连接246;具有HDMI接收机256的HDMI248;及具有模拟接收机222的模拟视频输入端250。
无线RF接收机214能够接收及处理包含802.11a、b、g、n、s及派生以及大量超宽带(UWB)版本的各种无线协议。天线240可包含一个或一个以上天线,且在与无线RF接收机214相组合时可使用例如天线分集、多相位、多输入多输出(MIMO)及其他相关技术等复杂技术。路径258提供用于在需要这种资源共享时使RF接收机利用LAN处理器的方式。

高级解码器254能够将包含MPEG-2、MPEG-4、VC1、H.264、向量量化、小波变换、3D小波变换、或另一类型的视频压缩的一个或一个以上不同压缩格式解码。在系统110的一个实施例中,数字基站156(图1)将所有不同格式的视频转换为统一视频格式,以便高级解码器254仅需执行一种类型的解码。在下文中结合图7提供关于在这种优化系统110中使用小波及3D小波变换CODEC的其他论述。

现在参照图3,图中根据本发明的一个实施例显示远程控制器310供用作图1所示多房间电视系统110中的手持式电视158的一个实例。在图3的实施例中,远程控制器310是手持式装置,其包含但不限于远程控制器屏幕314、远程控制器312、射频发射机/接收机(RF XMIT/RCVR)318及红外线发射机/接收机(IR XMIT/RCVR)316。
在图3的实施例中,远程控制器312可由观看者用于控制多房间电视系统110的各种组件及操作参数。例如,远程控制器312可用于通过使用RF XMIT/RCVR 318或IR XMIT/RCVR 316的无线传输方法来控制系统110中其他组件及子系统的操作。

在一个实施例中,远程控制器屏幕314可因此允许系统用户预览多个不同的可选节目源112,且同时在基本TV 150或远程TV 152上不中断地观看基本节目源112。在前述预览功能中,远程控制器屏幕314可接收从多房间电视系统110中的单独画中画(PIP)调谐器发起的无线传输。因此,预览功能可用于例如安排节目源112或预览其他频道等功能而不打断其他同时进行的节目观看活动。
现在参照图4,其显示根据本发明的一个实施例供与图1的多房间电视系统110一起使用的辅助基站410的方块图。在图4的实施例中,辅助基站410包含但不限于射频(RF)转发器414、远程TV连接412及交流电/直流电(AC/DC)转换器418。在替代实施例中,辅助基站410可易于实施以包含各种不同于或除结合图4实施例所论述的某些组件之外的其他组件。
在图4的实施例中,RF转发器414向远程TV 158或远程控制器310提供一个或一个以上节目源112的增强传输,以因此有利地改进各站点中的传输质量,其中远程TV 158或远程控制器310不能从数字基站156直接接收足够的无线传输。例如,例如墙密度及成分、或与数字基站156的物理距离等各种因素可明显恶化传输强度及质量。

在图4的实施例中,系统用户可通过将手持式TV 158连接到远程TV连接412而在辅助基站410上存储手持式TV 158。此外,AC/DC转换器418可向RF转发器414提供操作功率,且还可以通过远程TV连接412为手持式TV 158中的电池充电。

在模拟视频信息的情况中,数字化转换器530将模拟视频转换为数字视频并转发到输入流处理器530。在模拟音频信息的情况下,模拟-数字转换器(ADC)516将路径528上的模拟音频转换为数字音频,音频处理器534则经由输入流处理器530接收所述数字音频。在本发明的一个实施例中,音频处理器534包含各种MPEG及PCM(脉冲编码调制)技术及方法之间的转换。在前述音频信号处理程序之后,音频处理器534将已处理的音频提供给输出流处理器524。

视频处理器538执行许多涉及输入视频流处理的功能。这些功能可以各种方式执行,其包含数字信号处理器、媒体处理器、通用处理器、图形处理器、固定功能处理方块、或上述任一组合的方法。除处理方块外,还要求各种存储器存储装置,其是单独的或集合到各种处理块中。图5所示单元是在视频处理器538的一个版本中可能但不要求的各种类型的功能的一些的功能性说明。
存在各种对于视频来说可能是无损耗或有损耗的压缩及解压缩(CODEC)方法及标准。基于离散余弦变换(DCT)的CODEC包含MPEG、MPEG-2、H.323、MPEG-4、WM9、VC1、AVC、AVS和其他类似标准。小波变换是另一类型的CODEC,且JPEG2000是基于小波的CODEC的实例。每个CODEC的各种形式可以是空间的,其中压缩发生于一个视频帧内;或时间的,其中压缩发生于各帧之间(还称为3D处理,其中第三维是时间)。基于DCT的CODEC通常操作于一组图片(GOP)上,但也可操作于单索引帧(1帧)上。基于DCT的CODEC通常操作于固定大小块的像素上,而基于小波的CODEC可更灵活地操作。在基于CODEC构架的计算复杂度、延时、压缩率、视频质量、存储器要求及兼容性问题之间存在大量折中。所述系统还可利用其他基于运行长度编码(RLE)、霍夫曼编码、向量量化(VQ)、JPEG和运动JPEG的CODEC。

基于小波的变换具有其他可用于系统110的属性。例如,一种类型的小波变换将每个帧分解为数个分波段,所述分波段是其中将帧的图像过滤并按比例缩放为不同大小的帧的各版本。系统110使用这种具有同一图像的不同分辨率的锥形方案与关于传输信道及目标显示特性的信息一起用于优化分波段编码。下文结合图7论述前述技术的其他论述。
解压缩540功能用于将从一个节目源112接收的视频输入解压缩。通过将视频解压缩,可将所述视频转换到空间域以便可对每个视频帧更容易地操作。解压缩单元540通常能够对各种节目源112使用的视频压缩类型操作,且可包含MPEG-2、MPEG-4、VC1、H.264、DIVX或另一类型的视频。
压缩542功能用于以其他方式将未压缩的视频压缩为供输出流处理器524使用的视频格式。压缩542功能支持的格式是可用于多房间TV系统110的格式。所支持的压缩格式可包含MPEG-2、MPEG-4、VC1、H.264、VQ、小波变换、3D小波变换、或另一类型的视频压缩。小波变换编码可紧密涉及分波段编码及相关联滤波设计。因此,小波变换可包含锥形方案中的多分辨率分解。还可能使用不同的编码技术来压缩不同分波段。
速率转换及代码转换544功能(速率/代码转换)用于在既定视频压缩格式内转换位速率,或将从输入压缩格式的一者使用的视频压缩格式转译为输出压缩格式的一者而不必要求完全解码及编码。有时避免完全解码及编码是有利的,因为完全解码及编码可能要求更多处理功率或可能导致较低质量的视频。编码转换的格式可包含上文参照压缩功能542列举的那些格式。改变压缩格式内的位速率的速率转换功能可用于使位速率匹配下文论述的后续下游网络接口。
图像处理器550功能对输入视频流执行各种图像操作。这些操作可包含视频格式及帧速率转换,以将系统的格式及显示速率最优化。图像处理器550(例如)可修改720逐行高清晰度输入视频的分辨率,并将其转换为480逐行以供不能支持完全720逐行的显示装置使用。另一功能可包含其他图像增强操作。
图形处理器546功能用于执行图形用户界面绘画,并在提供屏幕上节目指南时针对这些功能产生屏幕上显示图形。图形处理器546功能可包含2D图形操作、3D图形操作及在视频数据上执行的具体图形操作。在一个实例中,图形处理器546产生节目指南信息的覆盖图。随后,显示/覆盖处理器548将这种覆盖图和视频帧相组合以产生组合图形与视频的帧。在组合图形与视频时,显示/覆盖处理器548可执行例如α交融、将视频按比例缩放为窗口、视频对图形的色彩/色度键控或图形对视频的色彩/色度键控、或任一其他数量的功能等功能以组合图形与视频数据。
如上文论述,数字基站156(图1)可包含多于一个媒体输入子系统512。在某些情形中,显示/覆盖处理器548可为其他媒体输入子系统512处理的视频流执行组合图形与视频的功能。因此可支持画中画的各种组合及多于一个同时视频的其他组合。也可执行例如多个视频之间及视频与图形之间的擦除及衰落等其他功能以改进系统的总能力。
作为视频处理器538的总功能的实例,节目源112的压缩格式可经优化以用于服务提供商网络传输,且可能不是在本地多房间系统110中最有用的压缩格式类型。卫星广播可利用H.264视频压缩格式,因为其提供极低带宽的解决方案,且可以低于1千万位每秒的速度传输高清晰度视频信号。对于多房间TV系统110,本地网络带宽可充分高于1千万位每秒。另外,数字基站156可要求图形数据在视觉上与网络的广播视频流相组合,其中对图形数据的控制由与数字基站156不在同一室的电视显示器152执行。对于这种实例,输入视频流可由解压缩540功能处理,随后解压缩的视频可与图形处理器546的输出相组合,且显示/覆盖处理器548可执行每个帧的最后复合。随后,可通过由压缩542功能执行小波变换来处理每个复合帧。尽管小波变换的视频数据可以是约1亿位每秒,但电视152的用户会在图形显示导航和视频控制方面经历反应极为迅速的控制,因为小波变换或3D小波变换具有极低的延时。

不同接口可具有与其相关联的DRM方案的不同变化形式。广播TV可包含指示是否可复制节目的旗标。HDMI可包含高清晰度复制保护(HDCP)协议以指示对高清晰度内容的存取权利。1394总线可包含DTCP作为保护协议。DDRM处理器552负责保留对输入方案的既定保护,同时仍允许将内容分布在一个网络接口上,或经由格式程序526和路径556输出到电视装置。
输出流处理器524执行音频、视频及数据的重组以产生将由通信处理器636(图6)经由路径522使用的输出流。已处理的视频还可以由显示格式程序526格式化,并在适合用于直接连接到电视输入端的有线总线556上输出。
输出流处理器524和视频处理器538之间的路径553是双向路径。视频处理器538可因此从下游通信处理器636(图6)以及RF XMIT/RCVR 640接收信息。通过了解将由系统110用于传输视频信息的通信信道类型,可相应地调整视频编码的参数。前述技术将在下文中结合图7及8进一步论述。

根据本发明,媒体输入子系统512还可以利用IR XMIT/RCVR 644和RFXMIT/RCVR 640来监控所有远程产生的系统控制信号。随后,媒体输入子系统512可作为响应维持对应的系统组件状态信息,以促进多房间电视系统110中的智能系统控制互动作用。例如,位于与节目源112远程的观看位置中的系统用户可能想要在远程TV 152上观看来自卫星服务提供商的节目指南信息。媒体输入子系统512可产生对节目源的适合信号以使得节目指南信息可用,且可随后以所需格式将节目指南信息单独或与视频节目源相组合而传输到远程TV 152。在另一实施例中,IR输入246可实施为远程TV 152的一部分。IR命令由其他接口220控制器转译并经由LAN 242、RF 240或另一连接发送到媒体输入子系统处理器512。
根据本发明,媒体输入子系统512还可以贯穿整个多房间电视系统110使用控制总线516与兼容组件通信。在图6的实施例中,控制总线516可使用任一兼容配置及/或协议来实施。例如,控制总线516可根据控制总线标准有效实施,且还可以利用各种与数字生活网络联盟(DLNA)或家用音频-视频家用互用性(HAVI)标准相容的信令协议及技术。
现在参照图7,其显示图解说明用于从视频帧转换到图6所示通信处理器的过程710的数据流图。第一步骤是经由分波段编码将视频数据的每个成分分解为多分辨率表示。方块712中显示用于亮度成分Y的四叉树型分解,方块714中显示用于第一色度成分U的四叉树型分解,且方块716中显示用于第二色度成分V的四叉树型分解。四叉树型分解将每个成分分裂为四个分波段,其中第一分波段由718h、718d和718v代表,且前述“h”、“d”、和“v”分别标识“水平”、“对角”和“竖直”。第二分波段由720h、720d和720v代表,其在水平及竖直方向的分辨率是第一分波段的一半。第三分波段由722h、722d、和722v代表,且第四分波段由盒724代表。
前向纠错(FEC)是用于改进所传输位流的错误恢复力的一种实例性方法。FEC包含将信息的其他冗余位添加到基本位的过程,以便在某些位丢失或破坏时,可由解码系统重建所述帧的完全或几乎完全表示。在FEC步骤期间添加的冗余信息位越多,位流受到的保护越强,且位流对错误的恢复力越强。在小波编码的视频的情形中,视频帧的最低分辨率分波段可具有最大图像能量,且可使用比帧的最高分辨率分波段更多的FEC冗余位来保护。
经由路径702将每个组件的不同分波段传送到编码步骤。通过对第一分波段736、第二分波段734、第三分波段732和第四分波段730执行的带FEC的编码来针对每一分波段执行所述编码步骤。依据所执行的编码类型,存在各种在编码过程之前或作为编码过程的一部分应用到数据的其他步骤。这些步骤可包含在所述分波段之间进行滤波或区分。对分波段之间的差异进行编码是一种压缩类型的一个步骤。对于典型的图像来说,多数图像能量常驻于图像的最低分辨率表示中。其他波段含有用于增强图像质量的较高频率细节。针对每个波段的编码步骤使用一种最适用于包含于所述分图像中的视觉细节量的方法及位速率。
还存在其他可缩放编码技术,其可用于跨越不同的通信信道传输各种图像分波段,其中通信信道具有不同的传输特性。这种技术可用于使较高优先权源的分波段与较高质量的传输信道匹配。这种基于源的编码可用于其中以重点受保护方式传输基本视频层而不太保护或完全不保护上层的情形。这种技术可导致错误隐蔽的较好总性能,且将允许图像质量的体面降级。另一种错误恢复熵编码(EREC)还可用于传输错误的高恢复力。
除了对分图像视觉细节的依赖外,FEC的编码类型及强度还依据传输信道错误特性。传输信道反馈740被馈送到通信处理器744,通信处理器又经由路径742将所述信息反馈到每个分波段编码块。每个分波段编码器将已编码的分图像信息传输到通信处理器744。随后,通信处理器744经由路径750将压缩流传输到目标传输子系统。
作为对所述2D分波段编码的扩展,还可以使用3D分波段编码。对于3D分波段编码来说,将二次取样的成分视频信号分解为视频成分,其范围从低空间及时间分辨率的成分到具有较高频率细节的成分。这些成分是使用适用于保留包含于每个成分中的图像能量的方法独立编码的。所述压缩还通过将各种成分量化及将已量化的值进行熵编码来独立执行。所述解码步骤能够通过恢复及组合各种图像成分来重建适合的视频图像。通过对视频的编码及解码来保留视频图像的心理视觉性质。例如施加更成熟的运动编码技术、图像综合、或基于对象的编码等高级3D方法也是针对既定位速率改进图像质量或针对既定质量降低位速率的方法。
参照传输协议的其他优化也是可能的。例如,在一种类型的系统中,可存在如果发生错误则重传输的分组,且可存在无论是否发生错误均不重传输的分组。还存在各种错误阈值速率,其可经设定以确定是否需要将分组重发送。通过管理FEC分配,以及参照帧的不同分波段进行的分组传输协议,传输过程可被优化以确保已解码视频具有最高的可能质量。例如,以太网络可使用UDP、带握手的UDP和TCP/IP传输的各种形式以确保分组被适合地区分优先次序且仅在必要时进行重传输。某些传输协议具有额外信道编码,其可独立地或与编码步骤相组合来管理。
具体用于将分波段编码与UWB协议相组合的系统等级优化也是可能的。在一个实施例中,具有最大图像能量的分波段针对媒体存取控制(MAC)协议使用最高优先权硬保留方案。另外,可针对较高图像能量分波段使用通常具有较高范围的UWB频谱的低阶波段群组。在这一情形中,即使便携式TV在UWB高阶波段群组的范围外,接收机仍将接收UWB低阶波段群组,且将能够显示原始视频的中或低分辨率表示。
现在参照图8,其显示一种根据本发明的一个实施例用于执行多房间传输程序的方法步骤流程图。在图8的实施例中,在步骤810处,多房间电视系统110受限将一个或一个以上节目源112提供给数字基站156。在步骤812中,输入流处理器530依据节目源112是否包含数据、视频或音频信息的任一组合来区分各种类型的节目源112。图8的流程图并不具体描述模拟输入到数字输入的转换,尽管另一实施例可包含这些步骤。
如果节目源112包含数据,则在步骤824中,DDRM处理器552将所述数据格式化,且在步骤826中,将所述数字化数据处理为适合格式。这种数据处理可涉及节目指南信息,或可涉及由广播使用的DRM方案。如果节目源112包含音频数据,则在步骤820中,将音频数据格式化,且在步骤822中,由音频处理器534处理所述音频数据。
如果节目源112包含视频,则在步骤814中,视频处理器538以适合方式将视频格式化,且随后在步骤816中处理所述视频。格式化视频步骤814和处理视频步骤816可包含解压缩、压缩、编码变换、速率变换、及图像处理的各种组合。随后,可将视频帧与步骤826中的数据或步骤814及步骤816中产生的数据相组合,以产生输出视频流,所述输出视频流还可包含图形信息且可由显示/覆盖处理器548在压缩之前进行处理。步骤818进一步经由输出流处理器524将数据、视频及音频组合为组合输出流。步骤828经由通信处理器636执行网络处理。
在步骤830中,多房间TV系统110在向步骤832提供数据流以使最终网络传输功能成为输出路径中的一者之前对网络传输进行监控。监控网络步骤830还可以用于将网络信息反馈到步骤816以供用于处理视频,及反馈到步骤828供用于执行网络处理。这种经由路径834的反馈可用于适配由视频处理器538执行的视频处理类型,以最好地匹配视频输出流与传输信道的特性。使视频编码与传输信道适配的一个这种实例是上文结合图7阐述的多波段小波编码。另外,通信处理器636可使用来自网络监控步骤830的传输信道信息修改对数据执行的传输过程的类型。
现在参照图9,其显示一种根据本发明的一个实施例用于执行网络接收程序的方法步骤流程图。为清晰起见,图2的网络接收程序是参照远程TV 158来论述的,其中远程TV经由无线联网接收数据。然而,在有线网络上对远程TV 152、远程控制器310、辅助基站410、或任一其他兼容接收机装置的网络接收同样地与结合本发明的使用相容。
在图9的实施例中,在步骤912中,远程TV 158从数字基站156接收本地复合流。随后,在步骤914中,RF接收机214执行无线网络处理程序以产生基带流,或图2的一个其他输入端接收网络传输。前述无线网络处理程序可包含各种适合技术,例如从数字基站156传播的本地复合流的解调及下变频。包含同轴电缆接收机216和LAN处理器218的其他网络输入处理块执行适合的网络接收。
在步骤916中,远程TV 158接收及将基带流多路分用为单独的成分,所述成分可包含单独的数据、视频及音频信息。如果基带流包含数据信息,则在步骤918中,具有音频及数据解码器256的多路分用器将数据信息操控为适合格式以产生经操控数据,且图9的过程前进到步骤922。同样,如果基带流包含视频信息,则在步骤920中,高级解码器254将视频信息解压缩以产生解压缩视频,且图9的过程前进到步骤922。
另外,如果基带流包含音频信息,则在步骤926中,具有音频及数据解码器256的多路分用器受限将音频信息解压缩以产生解压缩音频,随后将解压缩音频在步骤928中用于将音频输出再生。
在步骤922中,显示处理器224可存取经操控数据(步骤918)及解压缩视频(步骤920),且可执行可选的本地图形用户界面(GUI)处理程序以产生显示数据及显示视频供在远程TV 158上呈现。可选的本地GUI处理的实例是使用音量、色彩或其他设定功能的屏幕上显示,其具体施加到本地远程TV 158而非节目源112。最后,在步骤924中,显示处理器224将显示数据及显示视频提供给远程TV屏幕212以供多房间电视系统110的用户观看。
在一个实施例中,做出本地GUI功能和节目源相关功能的重要区别。多房间电视系统110的用户通过控制图形处理器546(其是媒体输入子系统处理器512的一部分)来影响TV屏幕212上的用户界面。在节目源112选择及执行屏幕上显示导航的情形中,图形处理器546及显示/覆盖处理器548在压缩542功能之前将视频与屏幕上显示信息相组合。在这个方法中,在步骤832中产生及传输的网络流已包含显示就绪视频,因此在高级解码器254执行解压缩视频步骤920时,显示信息已准备就绪供显示处理器224使用,而无需执行GUI处理的本地步骤922。步骤922中的本地GUI处理是由显示处理器224对显示装置本地执行的,而非由媒体输入子系统处理器512执行。
因此,本发明实施一种灵活的用户可在大量应用中有效利用的多房间电视系统。例如,视频摄像机装置可出于例如监督及监控的目的产生对远程TV 158的无线传输,或传输可由数字基站156接收,且将传输存储于连接的存储装置上。
另外,观众可灵活利用多房间电视系统110用于显示来自家用计算机的信息(例如观看个人食谱收集同时进行烹饪)、用于显示各种用户文档(例如特定观众的喜爱电视频道)、或用于在远程TV 158不能以其他方式使用时以“图片帧”模式将图像排序。因此,本发明有效实施一种灵活的多房间电视系统110,其利用各种异类成分促进最优的系统互用性及功能性。另外,因特网上的用户可控制节目选择及观看任一节目源,同时从远程位置控制数字基站,从而将系统从多房间扩展到多位置。
上文已参照较佳实施例来解释本发明。根据本揭示内容,其他实施例将对所属技术领域的技术人员显而易见。例如,本发明可易于使用不同于上文较佳实施例中阐述的配置来实施。另外,本发明可结合不同于上文所述的系统有效使用以作为较佳实施例。因此,对较佳实施例的这些及其他变化形式均意欲涵盖于本发明中,且仅由随附权利要求书限定。
Claims (45)
1.一种用于实施数字基站的设备,其包括:
媒体输入子系统,其耦合到所述数字基站且经配置以处理节目源以借此产生已处理流;
所述媒体输入子系统的解压缩单元,所述解压缩单元经配置以对数字节目源数据进行操作;
所述媒体输入子系统的压缩单元,所述压缩单元经配置以生成已处理视频;
耦合到所述媒体输入子系统的通信处理器,所述通信处理器经配置以操控所述已处理流以产生发射机就绪流;及
耦合到所述通信处理器的射频发射机装置,所述射频发射机经配置以用无线方式传输所述发射机就绪流。
2.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统从所述节目源接收及解压缩视频信息,所述媒体输入子系统随后压缩所述视频信息以产生所述发射机就绪流,所述视频信息是以MPEG格式接收的,所述压缩单元产生小波变换格式发射机就绪流。
3.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统从第一节目源接收及解压缩视频信息,所述媒体输入子系统还接收及解压缩第二节目源,所述媒体输入子系统产生合并来自所述第一节目源的所述视频信息及来自所述第二节目源的节目信息二者的经组合视频流。
4.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统从第一节目源接收及解压缩视频信息,所述媒体输入子系统从第二节目源接收节目指南信息,所述媒体输入子系统将所述视频信息与所述节目指南信息组合以产生组合视频流。
5.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统从节目源接收及解压缩视频信息,所述媒体输入子系统对所述视频信息执行图形处理器操作,所述媒体输入子系统随后压缩所述视频信息以产生所述发射机就绪流,所述媒体输入子系统产生由所述视频信息的小波变换组成的压缩格式发射机就绪流。
6.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统从个人计算机接收及处理未经压缩的视频信息,所述媒体输入子系统产生由所述视频信息的小波变换组成的压缩格式发射机就绪流。
7.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述射频发射机装置向所述通信处理器提供RF传输信道信息,所述通信处理器向视频处理器提供所述RF传输信道信息,所述视频处理器使用所述RF传输信道信息以基于所述RF传输信道信息调整及改进视频编码,所述通信处理器根据所述RF传输信道信息及所述视频编码二者来调整所述发射机就绪流。
8.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述射频发射机装置向所述媒体输入子系统提供RF传输信道信息,所述媒体输入子系统使用所述RF传输信道信息以基于所述RF传输信道信息来调整分波段编码的错误恢复力。
9.如权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述射频发射机装置利用超宽带RF通信。
10.一种用于处理节目信息以向网络提供已处理视频流图像数据的视频处理设备,其包括:
解压缩单元、图形处理器、及显示与覆盖处理器,其处理输入节目流以根据所述输入节目流生成修改版本的视觉信息;
压缩处理器,其以不同于先前解压缩格式的格式压缩所述显示与覆盖处理器的已修改输出;及
通信处理器,其耦合到所述视频处理设备,所述通信处理器经配置以操控所述已处理视频流图像数据以产生发射机就绪流。
11.如权利要求10所述的设备,其中所述视频处理设备接收非ATSC兼容节目源,所述视频处理设备产生与高清晰度电视的ATSC标准兼容的所述已处理视频流图像数据,所述通信处理器经由同轴电缆以与ATSC兼容电视接收及解码所述已处理视频流图像数据的能力一致的方式传输所述已处理视频流图像数据。
12.如权利要求10所述的设备,其中所述解压缩单元、所述图形处理器、所述显示与覆盖处理器及所述压缩处理器被实施为集成电路。
13.如权利要求10所述的设备,其中所述视频处理设备包含视频压缩,所述视频压缩产生包含所述视觉信息的所述修改版本的小波变换的压缩格式发射机就绪流。
14.一种用于实施数字基站系统的设备,其包括:
媒体输入子系统,其耦合到所述数字基站系统,所述媒体输入子系统经配置以处理节目源以借此生成已处理流;
所述媒体输入子系统的视频压缩单元,所述视频压缩单元经配置以对节目源实时、具有单独帧或更少的延时进行操作,以产生包含所述节目源数据的多分辨率分波段的小波变换编码视频流;及
通信处理器,其耦合到所述媒体输入子系统,所述通信处理器经配置以操控所述已处理流以借此产生发射机就绪流。
15.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统在执行视频压缩之前将来自两个或两个以上节目源的节目流信息加以组合。
16.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统将来自一个或一个以上节目流的视频信息与来自一个或一个以上节目源的已处理数据流信息加以组合,所述视频信息与所述已处理数据流信息在执行视频压缩程序之前经组合以产生组合视频图像。
17.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统将来自一个或一个以上节目流的视频信息与从非节目源提供的数据信息加以组合,所述视频信息与所述数据信息在执行视频压缩程序之前经组合以产生组合视频图像。
18.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中针对不同等级的错误恢复力独立地处理所述多分辨率分波段。
19.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中所述通信处理器向所述媒体输入子系统提供反馈信息,所述媒体输入子系统使用所述反馈信息以确定所述多分辨率分波段中每一者的不同等级的错误恢复力。
20.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中所述通信处理器耦合到一个或一个以上射频发射机装置以发射所述发射机就绪流的一个或一个以上传输。
21.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中所述通信处理器耦合到一个或一个以上局域网络发射机装置以发射所述发射机就绪流的一个或一个以上传输。
22.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统被实施为集成电路。
23.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中所述媒体输入子系统与所述通信处理器二者被实施为单个组合的集成电路。
24.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中已编码视频流被发射到两个或两个以上各自能够对所述已编码视频流进行解码的接收机。
25.如权利要求14所述的设备,其中不同显示器处的观众选择一个或一个以上可选节目源,且以互动方式控制由所述媒体输入子系统产生及操控的屏幕上显示。
26.一种用于实施远程电视观看系统的设备,其包括:
耦合到数字基站的接收装置,所述接收装置包含解码器,所述解码器从来自所述基站的所传输流中选择已编码信息,所述解码器处理及解码所述已编码信息以产生已解码信息;及
显示处理器,其从所述已编码信息中格式化所述已解码信息以供显示,所述已编码信息包含已编码视频流,所述已编码视频流包含多分辨率分波段已编码视频。
27.如权利要求26所述的设备,其中所述用于多分辨率分波段已编码视频的解码器及所述显示处理器被实施为单块集成电路。
28.如权利要求26所述的设备,其中所述已编码信息遵循3D小波变换数据的常规。
29.如权利要求26所述的设备,其中所述远程电视观看系统合并用于观看视频输出信息的显示屏幕。
30.如权利要求26所述的设备,其中所述解码器接收所述多分辨率分波段并从所述多分辨率分波段中产生高质量视频图像,所述解码器隐藏由在传输期间丢失的数据导致的缺陷。
31.一种用于实施数字基站系统的方法,其包括下述步骤:
用媒体输入子系统处理节目源,所述媒体输入子系统包含经配置以对节目源位流进行解码的解码单元;
用所述媒体输入子系统生成压缩位流,所述媒体输入子系统包含经配置以压缩视频帧的编码单元;
用通信处理器操控所述已压缩位流以产生发射机就绪流;及
利用射频发射机以无线传输技术传播所述发射机就绪流。
32.如权利要求31所述的方法,其中所述媒体输入子系统接收及处理MPEG节目信息以产生非MPEG发射机就绪流。
33.如权利要求31所述的方法,其中所述射频发射机利用超宽带传输协议。
34.如权利要求31所述的方法,其中所述媒体输入子系统从一个或一个以上源接收视频信息,所述媒体输入子系统将所述视频信息与节目指南信息加以组合以产生包含所述视频信息和所述节目指南信息二者的组合视频流。
35.如权利要求31所述的方法,其中所述媒体输入子系统产生包含已处理流的多分辨率分波段的压缩格式发射机就绪流。
36.如权利要求31所述的方法,其中所述媒体输入子系统利用来自所述通信处理器的传输信息调整一个或一个以上因子以产生更具错误恢复力的发射机就绪流。
37.如权利要求31所述的方法,其中所述媒体输入子系统利用RF传输信息以调整一个或一个以上因子以借此产生更具错误恢复力的已编码视频流。
38.一种用于实施数字基站系统的方法,其包括如下步骤:
用媒体输入子系统处理节目源,所述媒体输入子系统包含视频压缩单元以产生已处理视频流,所述视频压缩单元产生包含多分辨率已处理视频的分波段的已编码视频流;及
将所述已处理及已编码视频流传播到通信处理器以产生发射机就绪流。
39.如权利要求38所述的方法,其中所述视频压缩单元产生其中视频的分波段具有不相等错误恢复力的小波编码视频流。
40.如权利要求38所述的方法,其中所述媒体输入子系统将来自两个或两个以上源的视频或数据信息加以组合以产生组合视频流。
41.如权利要求38所述的方法,其中所述媒体输入子系统将关于不同分波段的图像能量的视频编码信息传播到所述通信处理器,所述通信处理器利用所述视频编码信息产生经优化的发射机就绪流。
42.如权利要求38所述的方法,其中所述媒体输入子系统产生两个或两个以上被传播到所述通信处理器的已处理流,所述通信处理器产生随后被传播到一个或一个以上网络接口的发射机就绪流。
43.如权利要求38所述的方法,其中在因特网上传播所述发射机就绪流。
44.一种用于以无线方式接收及显示从数字基站传播的传输的方法,其包括下述步骤:
通过利用通信子系统来接收所述从所述数字基站传播的传输;
用处理子系统对所述传输进行解码,所述处理子系统对所述传输的多分辨率视频流的一个或一个以上分波段进行解码;及
从所述处理子系统中产生可显示输出。
45.如权利要求44所述的方法,其中所述传输的所述解码构建与小波解码技术一致的显示,所述解码经执行以隐蔽在所述视频流传输中出现的位错误。
