Abstract

技术领域

背景技术
基于行为的广告是指一种类型的广告，其中广告商仅仅为是用户所浏览到的广告的直接结果的可度量事件付费。例如，含付费广告是一种形式的基于行为的搜索广告。利用含付费广告，广告被包含在关键字搜索的搜索结果页面中。来自结果页面的广告的每次选择(“点击”)是广告商为之付费的可度量事件。换句话说，广告商的付费是基于每次点击的。
另一种形式的基于行为的广告包括位置付费广告。位置付费广告与含付费广告类似之处在于付费是基于每次点击。然而，利用位置付费广告，广告商排列特定的广告以便其出现在或被放置在特殊的地点，例如，位于搜索引擎结果页面的顶部，由此增加广告被选择的机会。
这两种形式的基于行为的广告，即位置付费和含付费，都受到要求位置付费或含付费广告程序之内的广告商或参与者具有web页面形式的web存在的限制。然而，有的广告商或者(a)没有web页面，或者(b)有web页面但不能有效捕获web访问者的值，由此不能够或不愿意参与如上所述的基于行为的广告。
广告可以像由在线目录服务之上执行的搜索所返回的列表一样简单。例如，在雅虎的本地黄页(Yahoo！’s Local Yellow Page)站点上执行的关于“外卖意大利餐馆”的搜索可能返回洗衣店的结果列表。然而，再一次，很难凭由搜索返回的广告确定由用户做出的到商家的呼叫事实上是否做出。

发明内容

图1举例说明了根据现有技术的位置付费和含付费广告模式，客户和广告商是如何相互作用的。参考图1，附图标记10指示的多个客户经由通信路径12连接到广域网(WAN)14，如因特网。广告商16经由通信路径18连接到WAN 14。在一个实施例中，通信路径12和18支持TCP/IP协议。每个广告商16具有web页面20，该web页面20依照上述的位置付费和含付费广告模式，可被包含在由客户10的用户发起的关键字搜索的结果页面内，该搜索是由在线搜索引擎19完成的。基于位置付费或含付费模式，广告商16的web页面20被包含在由搜索引擎19编制的结果页面内，并经由通信路径12发送给发起该搜索的客户10，以便web页面20可被请求该搜索的客户10的用户选择或浏览。如上面的注解，如果广告商16没有web页面20，或者没有能够有效捕获web访问者的值的web页面20，那么当前此类广告商无法参与或有效参与基于行为的商品销售，如位置付费和含付费程序。
此外，在此公开的技术并不局限于通过web页面为广告商16发布或提供广告。由此，在可选实施例中，可利用号码薄无需为广告商创建web页面地发布或提供分配给广告商的唯一的电话号码。号码薄可以是现有的号码薄或新的号码薄。通过下面描述的排列技术可以控制号码薄内的电话号码的安排或排列。
现在参考图2，图2举例说明了根据一个实施例，无需广告商具有web存在也允许广告商参与按呼叫付费广告程序的一种方法。如将所看到的那样，客户10如前所述经由通信路径12连接到WAN 14。然而，广告商16和WAN 14之间的通信路径18完全是任选的。换句话说，本发明的技术允许广告商16参与基于行为的广告程序，而无需广告商16经由通信路径18连接到WAN 14。事实上，根据在此公开的技术，广告商16不必具有web页面20。相反，根据在此公开的技术，在客户10和广告商16之间提供可选的基于非web的通信路径22。根据本发明的实施例，可通过传统的电话网络提供基于非web的通信路径22。作为选择，基于非web的通信路径22可以以无需广告商16具有到网络14的连接的方式，利用IP话音(VoIP)技术通过网络14的交换和公众电话网的交换与客户连接。另外，可通过诸如电子邮件、聊天、即时消息等其他媒体渠道通知广告商。
图3举例说明了根据一个实施例，用于建立图2的基于非web的通信路径22的技术。参考图3，在功能块26，为广告商16分配一个唯一的电话号码。此后，在功能块28，代表广告商在出版物或媒体渠道上提供或发布与广告商16相关的广告。该广告或者包含该唯一电话号码，或者包含对该唯一电话号码的引用。在功能块30，如将描述的那样监视到该唯一电话号码的电话呼叫。在功能块32，如将描述的那样基于通过所分配的电话号码的电话呼叫活动对该广告商收费。

模块46包括允许自动路由呼叫到各个电话号码的智能连接逻辑62。例如，Burt可能包括一个主电话号码以及一个或多个与他的广告相关联的辅助电话号码。由此，在一个实施例中，智能连接逻辑62首先路由呼叫到Burt的主电话号码，如果连接不成功，则循环通过Burt的辅助电话号码列表，直到连接成功。

对于附加的存储器，硬件150还可包括一个或多个大容量存储装置160，例如软盘或其它可移动磁盘驱动器、硬盘驱动器、直接存取存储装置(DASD)、光驱动器(例如，紧致磁盘(CD)驱动器，数字通用盘(DVD)驱动器等)和/或磁带驱动器。此外，硬件150可包括与一个或多个网络162(其中例如局域网(LAN)、广域网(WAN)、无线网络和/或因特网)的接口以允许与连接到网络的其它计算机传递信息。应理解的是，硬件150典型地在处理器152与每个组件154、156、158和162之间包括适当的模拟和/或数字接口，这在本领域是众所周知的。

如上所讨论的，辛迪加组织引擎76用于将Burt的广告联合成辛迪加到多个第三方。第三方的附加例子包括诸如Yahoo！_、MSN_、AOL_的公司，以及其他类似的需求伙伴。经常地，这些需求伙伴(在此也称为辛迪加组织伙伴)接受通过在此描述的按呼叫付费方法和系统产生的广告收入的某个百分比。因此，如前一例子中那样，位置1的广告商为每次接收到对电话号码800-349-2398的呼叫支付$3.88。现在假定对位置1的广告商的呼叫由一个需求伙伴的网站上呈现的广告产生。该需求伙伴将被授权$3.88的某个百分比。本方法和系统提供了用于跟踪、监视和确定需求伙伴补偿的多个实施例。
在图12的流程图中描述的一个实施例中，在过程1202中，对于每个正在张贴该商家的广告的单独的需求伙伴给予广告商(在此也称为商家或列表)一个单独的电话号码(例如，别名电话号码)。如在此所描述的，在多个实施例中，利用电话号码自动生成逻辑56分配电话参考，包括电话号码和对应基本电话号码的电话分机。
在一个实施例中，别名电话号码被映射到广告商实际的电话号码，而且监视对该别名的呼叫以便跟踪各个需求伙伴。因此，在过程1204，记帐模块40跟踪需求伙伴和/或对于对各个需求伙伴所对应的广告商的别名电话号码所作的呼叫，将对该广告商征收的(或从该广告商收取的)收入的某个百分比记入需求伙伴。
在图13的流程图中描述的另一个实施例中，在过程1302，广告商为一组需求伙伴接收单个/基本电话号码。在过程1304，为每个单独的需求伙伴给广告商分配一个单独的分机。更特别地，该单独的需求伙伴为该广告商列出相同电话号码，并且包括对各个需求伙伴唯一的分机。例如，列表可能对该组需求伙伴具有号码“(800)新的-汽车”，但是为该广告商张贴公共电话号码的每个需求伙伴也将提供对应于各个需求伙伴的单独的分机(例如，分机102对应XYZ辛迪加伙伴，分机104对应ABC辛迪加伙伴，等等)。在过程1306，记帐模块40跟踪需求伙伴和/或对于经由对应各个需求伙伴的电话分机对该广告商的所作的呼叫，将对该广告商征收的(或从该广告商收取的)收入的某个百分比记入需求伙伴。
在图14的流程图中描述的可选实施例中，在过程1402，需求伙伴对一组广告商使用一个基本电话(即，单个)号码。在过程1404，该需求伙伴利用该同一个基本号码为每个广告商提供单独的分机。例如，需求伙伴可为一组广告商使用电话号码(800)呼叫XYZ，为Joe的管道工程提供分机102，为Carl的管道工程提供分机104，等等。在过程1406，记帐模块40跟踪需求伙伴和/或对于经由对应各个需求伙伴的基本电话号码以及在该各个需求伙伴为该广告商分配的唯一电话分机对该广告商的所作的呼叫，将对该广告商征收的(或从该广告商收取的)收入的某个百分比记入需求伙伴。
根据另一个实施例，公开了一种点击以显示的方法和设备，如在2004年6月17日申请的标题为“一种提供按呼叫付费的广告和记帐的方法和设备”的共同未决的美国专利申请No.10/872,117中所述，该申请在此结合作为参考。如图15的流程图所述，在过程150，通过需求伙伴的网站为用户呈现广告。该广告并没有显示广告商的完整的电话号码，而是包含超级连接或选项以显示广告商的电话号码，或者电话号码的剩余部分。在过程1504，广告交付引擎74监视用以显示该广告商的号码的点击通过数量。在一个实施例中，假定来自需求伙伴的每次点击通过都导致对该相应广告商的呼叫。结果，在过程1506，记帐模块40至少部分基于用以显示广告商的电话号码的点击通过数量，跟踪和/或计算为需求伙伴记入的信用额。
在再一个可选实施例中，为需求伙伴提供点击以呼叫格式。在如图16的流程图中所描述的一个实施例中，在过程1602，除了为广告商列表电话号码之外(或者代之以为该广告商列表电话号码)，由需求伙伴提供链接或选项以响应浏览者/顾客激活/选择所提供的超级链接或选项启动建立浏览者/顾客与广告商之间的电话连接。在一个实施例中，在过程1604，响应激活/选择所提供的超级链接或选项，提示浏览者/顾客他们的电话号码以建立与广告商的电话连接。在顾客输入了他们的电话号码之后，在顾客和广告商之间建立电话连接。
在再一个实施例中，如果浏览者/顾客有VoIP通信装置，则VoIP逻辑98可连接广告商到该浏览者/顾客，而无需顾客/浏览者提供他们的电话号码。VoIP通信装置包括附加到用户的计算机的电话装置，以及移动通信装置，如PDA和蜂窝电话。
在采用点击以呼叫(对PSTN和VoIP连接)的实施例中，在过程1604，在每次浏览者/顾客选择/激活相应广告商的点击以呼叫图标时，都将对提供点击以呼叫选项的需求伙伴进行跟踪/记入信用(即，对该广告商征收或从该广告商收取的费用的某个百分比)。
在图17的流程图中描述的另一个实施例中，在过程1702，对一组需求伙伴给予广告商一个电话号码。在过程1704，基于经由该相应需求伙伴对该广告商的电话号码列表的页面浏览次数，按比例分配对于对该广告商所列的电话号码所作的呼叫记入需求伙伴的信用。例如，如果70％的广告商的网页浏览是通过需求伙伴ABC访问的，而30％的广告商的网页浏览是通过需求伙伴XYZ访问的，则ABC需求伙伴应收到对该广告商所列的电话号码所作的呼叫应付给该需求伙伴的信用的70％，而需求伙伴XYZ应收到30％。
在图18的流程图所描述的另一个实施例中，在过程1802，对于每个需求伙伴给予至少第一组广告商中的每一个唯一的和单独的电话参考。此外，对于一组需求伙伴，给予一个和多个广告商的每一个一个电话参考。
在过程1804，生成对具有该唯一电话参考的广告商的呼叫的统计取样。在一个实施例中，该统计取样代表了源于第一需求伙伴所列的广告的对该广告商的呼叫，相比源于由其他需求伙伴所列的同一(和相似)广告的呼叫的百分比取样。在一个实施例中，该取样可基于广告商的分类(例如，餐馆、汽车等)进行分离。
在过程1806，该取样被用作跟踪需求伙伴/给需求伙伴记入对至少一组广告商的收费的一个百分比的基础。考虑给每个广告商1和2均给予唯一电话参考的例子，而且对广告商1和2的呼叫的70％来自由伙伴ABC所列的电话参考。给定该例子，假定利用需求伙伴中的公共号码对该广告商的呼叫的70％也源于由伙伴ABC所列的广告。
因此，在一个实施例中，根据该统计取样，伙伴ABC应被记入利用需求伙伴中的公共号码对该广告商所作的呼叫的信用的70％。在一个实施例中，基于该统计取样跟踪/给需求伙伴记入信用也可被应用于使用需求伙伴中的唯一号码的广告商。
借助上述的所有补偿方法，可利用用于计算对需求伙伴的补偿(或跟踪需求伙伴)的各种度量代替广告收入的百分比。例如，可逐个小时地支付/跟踪需求伙伴。更特别地，可基于每小时的点击通过数量或者每天的点击通过数量计算比率。
通常，实现本发明的实施例所执行的例行程序可实现为操作系统或特定应用、组件、程序、对象、模块或称为“计算机程序”的指令序列的一部分。计算机程序典型地包括在计算机中的各种存储器和存储装置中在不同时间设置的一个或多个指令集，而且，当由计算机中的一个或多个处理器读入并执行时，促使计算机完成执行涉及本发明的各个方面的元素所必需的操作。此外，虽然已经在完全功能的计算机和计算机系统的上下文中描述了本发明，本领域的技术人员应理解的是，本发明的各个实施例能够以各种形式的程序产品分布，而且无论用于实际实现该分布的机器或计算机可读媒体的特定类型如何也可同等地应用本发明。计算机可读媒体的例子包括但不限于诸如易失和非易失存储装置、软盘和其它可移动磁盘、硬盘驱动器、光盘(例如，紧致密盘只读存储器(CD ROMS)、数字化通用盘(DVD)等)的可记录型媒体，以及诸如数字和模拟通信链路的传输类型媒体。

Claims (20)

1.一种方法，包括以下步骤：
为广告商分配至少一个电话参考，所述参考被包含在需求伙伴的媒体渠道上的广告之中；
至少部分地基于经由所述电话参考到所述广告商的电话连接，估计对所述广告商的收费；以及
利用至少部分地基于与所述电话参考相关的活动的预定跟踪模式，跟踪所述需求伙伴。
2.根据权利要求1的方法，其中所述分配步骤进一步包括对于一组需求伙伴中的每个不同需求伙伴，向所述广告商分配不同的电话参考；以及
基于经由对应于所述广告商的需求伙伴的电话参考到所述广告商的电话连接的数量，跟踪每个需求伙伴。
3.根据权利要求2的方法，其中所述电话参考为电话号码。
4.根据权利要求2的方法，其中所述电话参考为对应于基本电话号码的电话分机。
5.根据权利要求1的方法，其中所述分配步骤进一步包括对于一个需求伙伴而言，为一组广告商分配一个基本电话号码，并且为所述广告商组中的每个广告商分配一个独立的分机，所述独立的分机对应于所述基本电话号码；以及
基于经由对应于所述广告商的独立分机到所述广告商组中的每个广告商的电话连接的数量，跟踪所述需求伙伴。
6.根据权利要求1的方法，其中所述电话参考是一个选项，当所述选项被选择时，启动建立所述广告商和顾客之间的电话连接；以及
所述跟踪步骤进一步包括基于所述选项被选择的次数，跟踪所述需求伙伴。
7.根据权利要求6的方法，其中所述选项在被选择时，启动建立所述广告商和顾客之间的VoIP电话连接。
8.根据权利要求1的方法，其中所述跟踪步骤包括：
基于顾客在需求伙伴的站点对于所述广告的观看，跟踪每个需求伙伴。
9.根据权利要求1的方法，其中所述分配步骤进一步包括对于一组需求伙伴中的每个不同需求伙伴，向第一广告商分配一个不同的电话参考，以及
对于所述需求伙伴组中的每个需求伙伴，向第二广告商分配一个电话参考；
基于经由对于一组需求伙伴中的每个不同需求伙伴，向所述第一广告商分配的不同电话参考而建立的到所述第一广告商的电话连接，生成统计取样；和
基于所述统计取样跟踪所述需求伙伴。
10.根据权利要求9的方法，其中所述跟踪步骤进一步包括基于所述统计取样，计入与第二广告商建立电话连接的需求伙伴的信用。
11.根据权利要求9的方法，其中所述分配给第一广告商的电话参考为对应基本号码的电话分机。
12.根据权利要求1的方法，其中在所述广告中提供的电话参考可经由选项访问，以显示所述广告中的电话参考；以及
所述跟踪需求伙伴的步骤包括：基于所述选项被选择的次数而跟踪所述需求伙伴。
13.一种机器可读媒体，其上存储有一组在被执行时执行一种方法的指令，这些指令包括：
为广告商分配至少一个电话参考，所述参考被包含在需求伙伴的媒体渠道上的广告之中；
至少部分地基于经由所述电话参考到所述广告商的电话连接，估计对所述广告商的收费；以及
利用至少部分地基于与所述电话参考相关的活动的预定跟踪模式，跟踪所述需求伙伴。
14.根据权利要求13的机器可读媒体，其中所述分配指令进一步包括对于一组需求伙伴中的每个不同需求伙伴，向所述广告商分配一个不同的电话参考；以及
基于经由对应于所述广告商的需求伙伴的电话参考到所述广告商的电话连接的数量，跟踪每个需求伙伴。
15.根据权利要求13的机器可读媒体，其中所述电话参考是一个选项，所述选项在被选择时启动建立所述广告商和顾客之间的电话连接；以及
所述跟踪指令进一步包括：基于所述选项被选择的次数，跟踪所述需求伙伴。
16.根据权利要求13的机器可读媒体，其中所述分配指令进一步包括对于一组需求伙伴中的每个不同需求伙伴，向第一广告商分配一个不同的电话参考，以及
对于所述需求伙伴组中的每个需求伙伴，向第二广告商分配一个电话参考；
基于经由对于一组需求伙伴中的每个不同需求伙伴，向所述第一广告商分配的不同电话参考而建立的到所述第一广告商的电话连接，生成统计取样；
基于所述统计取样跟踪所述需求伙伴。
17.一种系统，包括：
用于为广告商分配至少一个电话参考的装置，所述参考被包含在需求伙伴的媒体渠道上的广告之中；
用于至少部分地基于经由所述电话参考到所述广告商的电话连接，估计对所述广告商的收费的装置；以及
用于利用至少部分地基于与所述电话参考相关的活动的预定跟踪模式，跟踪所述需求伙伴的装置。
18.根据权利要求17的系统，其中所述用于分配的装置进一步包括对于一组需求伙伴中的每个不同需求伙伴，向所述广告商分配一个不同的电话参考的装置；以及
基于经由对应于所述广告商的需求伙伴的电话参考到所述广告商的电话连接数量，跟踪每个需求伙伴的装置。
19.根据权利要求17的系统，其中所述电话参考是一个选项，所述选项在被选择时启动建立所述广告商和顾客之间的电话连接；以及
所述跟踪装置进一步包括基于所述选项被选择的次数而跟踪所述需求伙伴的装置。
20.根据权利要求17的系统，其中所述用于分配的装置进一步包括对于一组需求伙伴中的每个不同需求伙伴，向第一广告商分配一个不同的电话参考的装置，以及
对于所述需求伙伴组中的每个需求伙伴，向第二广告商分配一个电话参考的装置；
基于经由对一组需求伙伴中的每个不同需求伙伴，向所述第一广告商分配的不同电话参考而建立的到所述第一广告商的电话连接，生成统计取样的装置；和
基于所述统计取样跟踪所述需求伙伴的装置。
