Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and a system for er know the traffic situation on a part of the road and to Traffic control according to the generic terms of the independent Expectations.
Previous traffic control and warning systems are complex Installations along traffic routes. The Comprehensive creation of such systems is cost-intensive siv. The sensors for recognizing the traffic situation a lane is imprecise and prone to errors. So far one set systems only refer to the "Large traffic situations" and show a not inconsiderable Delay before detection of obstructive or dangerous Situations (traffic jams, accidents).
The object of the invention is a method and a system to recognize the traffic situation or traffic tax indication that is fast, accurate and with little additional hardware effort can be realized.
This task is carried out with the characteristics of the independent An sayings solved. Dependent claims are on preferred Embodiments of the invention directed.
The method according to the invention for recognizing traffic safety tuation benefits from the fact that, on the one hand, in modern driving testify very well to the specific driving situation of a vehicle is precisely determined and evaluated and that on the other hand in increasingly the vehicle location can be determined for example by a Navigati provided in the vehicle onsystem (e.g. GPS - Global Positioning System). The ride behavior of a vehicle can thus be used as a measure of ver traffic situation on a specific or determinable drive part of the track. In addition, since vehicles in increasingly have telecommunications equipment (for example, cellular), which can be used in a vehicle this vehicle determined driving situation, hereinafter as "Actual driving dynamics" denotes devices external to the vehicle be communicated.
The actual vehicle dynamics measured in the vehicle can in particular which are compared with a sample vehicle dynamics. The Model vehicle dynamics can be a through, for example average value of vehicle speeds at free, un be disturbed lane. The sample road dynamics will preferably collected on a site-specific basis. This means that for different parts of the road different model driving dynamics can exist.
The message from the vehicle to the collection point can in particular in particular a data pair consisting of the determined vehicle location and recently determined actual driving dynamics of the vehicle sen. Such data can be multiple in the external device collected, classified, statistically recorded rides and be evaluated. The results thus obtained can then directly (for example via mobile radio) or in directly (for example via radio) of several vehicles to provide. In addition, the Results of traffic influencing or traffic control are used, for example in the form of Umleitungsemp recommendations, lane assignments, speed limits etc.
A single vehicle can be used as a "moving sensor" may be viewed before the determined data processed to a collection point. This can be done via a Collective of data from multiple vehicles meaningful In Create formations that are then used for information or ver traffic control can be used.
Es zeigen:With reference to the drawings are hereinafter individually ne embodiments of the invention described. Show it:

Fig. 1 shows highly schematically a scene in which the invention may be applied. 10 denotes a vehicle 11 running on a road surface. The roadway 11 has sections 11 a, 11 b and 11 c. 11a is an example of a straight section of the roadway, in which, therefore, driving is generally comparatively fast. 11 b stands for a curvy section of road in which driving is usually slower. 11 c denotes an uphill section, on which you usually also drive more slowly. 12 a and 12 b are transmitting stations of mobile radio systems which are set up along the carriageway 11 . Your reach is limited. In the example of FIG. 1 may be considered that transmission mast 12 a the roadway parts 11 a and 11 b manipulated while transmission tower 12 b the roadway portions 11 b 11 c as well as operated on the horizon lying roadway parts. 13 denotes a transmission mast for large-scale radiation. For example, it can be a medium wave transmitter or an FM transmitter. 14 symbolizes a satellite, the purpose of which will be explained later.
Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of the system according to the invention. The vehicle 10 has a brake control 20 a-c. Representative of this, only wheel sensors 20 b and 20 c and a controller 20 a are shown in the schematic representation. The individual wheel speeds can be detected via the wheel sensors and, for example, the vehicle speed can be determined therefrom. Different control strategies such as ABS (anti-lock braking system), ASR (traction control system), ESP (electronic stability program) or the like can be implemented. The controller 20 a is an abundance of data is generated or det USAGE, including the previously mentioned vehicle speed, qua tive signals indicating, for example, the engagement of ABS or ESP, and the like.
In der gezeigten Ausführungsform empfängt sie geeignete Daten von der Bremsenregelung 20a. 22 is a determining device for determining the actual driving dynamics of the vehicle. In the embodiment shown, it receives suitable data from the brake control 20 a.
If the data required by the determination device 22 are available elsewhere, the data can also be obtained from other sources, for example from a vehicle data bus.
In one embodiment, the actual driving dynamics of driving stuff u. a. by or based on the vehicle speed v described. The current vehicle speed can edited to eliminate extreme transient values, at low-pass filtered, for example. Even the vehicle acceleration dv / dt can be used to describe the actual vehicle dy namik can be used.
The vehicle location is preferably also determined in the vehicle. For this purpose, a determination device 21 is provided. It can be a commercially available navigation aid, for example based on the satellite-based GPS. The system can determine the vehicle position comparatively accurately. The inaccuracies are usually less than 100 m. The location is determined at least two-dimensionally, so that the vehicle location can be determined on the map. The information is given in a suitably calibrated coordinate system, for example x / y coordinates, longitude and latitude or the like.
23 symbolizes a memory in which a previously determined model driving dynamics is stored in a location-specific manner. The pattern driving dynamics can have sample speed values and / or sample acceleration values. These sample values can be average values of many vehicles recorded so far. The spatial resolution of the model driving dynamics is sensibly chosen. It can be coarser than the spatial resolution of the location determining device 21 . It is advantageous if it is finer than road structures relevant to vehicle dynamics. The spatial resolution of the model driving dynamics can be, for example, less than 1 km, preferably less than 200 m. A permanent update of the model vehicle dynamics can easily be achieved with today's means, which is generally preferable.
With reference to the vehicle location data determined by the location determination device 21, the model driving dynamics for this vehicle location are read out from the memory 23 . In the assessment device 24 , the actual driving dynamics from the determination device 22 are compared with the model driving dynamics from the memory 23 and / or with other values, for example with fixed threshold values. The comparisons can be used to classify the actual driving situation.
If the model driving dynamics calls average speeds on a clear road, the following may result, for example: It is assumed that a pattern speed of 100 km / h is stored in the memory 23 for the location at which the vehicle 10 is located in FIG. 1 . The actual driving speed is 20 km / h (because of a traffic jam not shown). Based on the comparison with the sample driving dynamics / sample speed, it is determined that the actual driving speed / actual driving dynamics is significantly smaller. This can be used as an indication of "viscous traffic", and the driving situation of the specific vehicle can be classified accordingly. Assessment classes can be, for example: 0-25 km / h traffic jam, 25-60 km / h viscous, 60-120 km / h unobstructed driving, 120 km / h and higher sporty driver. The specified classification limits can be set for each classification in accordance with the model driving dynamics / model speed. A driving situation classifier as described above can then result from the output of the assessment device 24 . Since both actual driving dynamics and model driving dynamics are location-dependent, the classifier is also location-dependent. The classifier is preferably forwarded together with the location data for which it was determined. This then results in a pair of data from the vehicle location and driving situation for this vehicle.
To error detection of the traffic situation through the whole reducing system is a preferred embodiment not the assessment of the driving situation of a vehicle only vehicle as a representative result for the Ge complete traffic situation at the place under consideration. A lot more data from several vehicles is collected and output evaluates or linked together. The exclusive Be access to classified driving situations of individual driving Witnesses can be unreliable because individual vehicles are can behave atypically, for example a driving Stopping on the verge of a lane, though otherwise there is an undisturbed traffic situation. This should not be taken as a reference to "traffic jam". In One embodiment of the invention is therefore provided Data from several vehicles (i.e. their locations and their Driving situations) and referring to this Da the traffic situation at the named location detect. Here, for example, mean values can be concerned the driving situations of the individual vehicles are formed the. Extreme data sets (much too fast, see classics example "sporty driver" or "far too slow", see example parking on the verge) can be eliminated because these are not representative and the result can falsify.
The collection of data records from individual vehicles happens in such a way that the data records are transferred from the vehicle to a collection point. This is preferably done via radio, for example via mobile radio. Since vehicles increasingly have mobile telephones, this technical device can be used to transmit the determined data records to a collection point. This is indicated schematically in FIG. 2. The vehicle has a transmission device 25 and an antenna 26 . The transmitting device 25 may correspond to a mobile phone or be one that has a suitable input. The determined data pairs are then transmitted from the vehicle 10 to a preferably stationary station 12 . This receives data pairs from several vehicles and carries out traffic situation detection with reference to the incoming data pairs.
If mobile radio systems are used for data transmission, the limited spatial range of such systems has the advantage of distributing the incoming amount of data to many stations and thus limiting the amount of data for the individual stations. However, other radio systems can also be used, for example extensive frequency bands with corresponding transmission and reception stations 13 . Solutions via satellite 14 are also conceivable.
Fig. 2 shows an embodiment in which a relatively extensive data preparation takes place in the vehicle (classification of the driving situation of the specific vehicle). This has the advantage that ge smaller amounts of data are to be transmitted to the collection point, so that it must be interpreted less broadband. However, it is also conceivable to transmit unprocessed data to the collection point (for example vehicle location and actual driving dynamics / vehicle speed). A comparison with the sample driving dynamics / sample driving speed can then be made in the collection point. This increases the amount of data to be transferred, but it is not necessary to maintain the sample driving dynamics in the vehicle.
Finally, it is conceivable not to carry out the vehicle location determination in the vehicle, but rather externally, for example by bearing the radio signal; with this type of execution of the invention, however, a rather high outlay for the data processing taking place outside the vehicle is to be expected. It must then be ensured that who the assignment of vehicle location data and Istfahrdy namikdaten can be made reliably outside the vehicle. In this embodiment, the amount of data to be transmitted continues to decrease since the position data need not be transmitted from the vehicle 10 to the collection point.
Data transfer between the vehicle and the collection point can be situation-dependent - this is preferable - or time periodically. Special events, for example a strong braking or ABS intervention, as a Hin know about a dangerous situation and therefore be transferred immediately. If the Erken in general traffic situation with reference to the data vehicles, can nevertheless, if special events of a single vehicle become recognizable (for example the above-mentioned ABS intervention, an ESP Intervention or a very strong braking of an individual Vehicle), also from this single event on a be agreed (dangerous) traffic situation to be closed.
Fig. 3 zeigt schematisch die Erkennungseinrichtung 27 aus Fig. 2. Fig. 3 shows schematically the detection device 27 of FIG. 2. It has interfaces 30 a to 30 c for radio connection via antenna 12 , local display 28 and terrestrial connection 29 . A memory 31 in particular stores the data transmitted by the vehicles 10 . The traffic situation is recognized in an evaluation 32 with reference to these data pairs. Extreme data values can first be filtered out in the evaluation 32 (for example very fast or very slow drivers as mentioned above). It is then a group of the present carried the data to origin (for example, data from zone 11 a in Fig. 1 to group together quantitative summarizes data from the region 11 b to a second group, and data from the area 11c to a third Group, the subdivision or combination into groups can also be finer than the structuring shown in FIG. 1, for example three segments for each of the regions 11 a, 11 b, 11 c). The evaluation 32 advantageously has a priori knowledge of the existing road network. Groupings can then be made more easily, especially when crossing different streets. In this respect, it can also make sense for the data transmitted by the vehicle to also contain information about the direction of travel of the vehicle (for example "Southwest", "230 °"). There are then several criteria available which can be used to assign vehicle data to certain parts of the road.
If the relevant data records are found for a part of the road, they can be evaluated. This can then be taken as a measure of the traffic situation on the relevant part of the road. It can also be returned to the vehicles by radio. It can also be used to control traffic signs 15 or be made available for traffic jams via radio stations.
To avoid incorrect changes, complex evaluation algorithms and queries can be provided here. The model driving dynamics are stored in block 34 .
In general, manual interventions can also be possible. This applies in particular to the model driving dynamics as well as with regard to the recognized traffic situation.
The model driving dynamics can be maintained in such a way that it is transmitted periodically for a certain area from the radio station responsible for this area to the vehicles driving in this area. For example, the transmitting stations 12 a and 12 b periodically (z. B. every three minutes) send the model driving dynamics for the road network in their area, so that it can be received, stored and used by vehicles traveling in this road area.
Deviating from the representation according to FIG. 2, it should be useful in many cases to place the driving situation detection device 27 not externally, but in the driving witness, especially since all the information required there, obtained by the vehicle sensors and electronics, is immediately available stand.
Fig. 4 shows a possibility of data transmission from the vehicle to the collection point. Each line corresponds to a data transfer. The example shown is assumed for a motorway on which the model driving dynamics are commonly described by, for example, "120 km / h". Position coordinates, direction data and driving situation data are transmitted. The driving situation data originate from a driving situation classification already carried out in the vehicle. 0 corresponds to free travel, 1 viscous traffic, 2 traffic jams and 3 danger. Fig. 4 shows a sequence of data, such as it can give when driving into a traffic jam. A vehicle travels approximately to the northeast and initially has free travel (No. 1 to 4). When driving onto the end of the traffic jam, there is a strong braking (No. 5 with situation assessment "3"). Then the journey continues at a very slow speed (No. 6 to 8), then faster (No. 9 to 11) and finally with a free ride (No. 12).
The transmission of direction and location information can also done with reduced redundancy. In particular, the Po sition can be identified by codes that for example, who took the map of the model driving dynamics the. In addition to the data shown, other data can be such as check digits, vehicle identification, etc. become.
In another embodiment, the classification completely avoid the driving situation of a single vehicle ben. The vehicle then only transmits its actual driving dynamics (e.g. speed) and its position. More evaluators tings based on the model driving dynamics can then be in the Sam be made.
Traffic signs 15 can be controlled in accordance with the recognized traffic situation, for example by displaying speed restrictions or detour recommendations. Individual drivers can also be provided with information about the recognized traffic situation. These can be displayed visually, for example by means of graphics, which color the parts of the road ahead in accordance with the recognized traffic situation (e.g. red for danger, orange for traffic jam, yellow for viscous, green for free). There may also be acoustic outputs, for example warnings of dangerous situations ahead.
