Abstract

Kabelsystem-Kopfstelle, die mit einem Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk verbunden ist, zum Liefern von Informationsdiensten an Teilnehmer-Fernseher, die jeweils einem Heimschnittstellen-Controller zugeordnet sind, wobei die Kopfstelle umfasst:
eine Mehrzahl von interaktiven Controllern jeweils zum Empfangen von Datenkommunikationen von einem zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controller und zum Erzeugen von Informationssignalen, die über Fernsehsignale durch das Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk an den Teilnehmer-Fernseher des zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controllers zu liefern sind;
einen Frame-Server zum schnittstellenmäßigen Verbinden mit einer Mehrzahl von Heimschnittstellen-Controllern, die dem Frame-Server für interaktiven Dienst zugewiesen sind, wobei der Frame-Server interaktive Seiten erzeugt, die an die den zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controllern zugeordneten Teilnehmer-Fernseher in digital codierten Fernsehsignalen über das Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk zu liefern sind, und Datenkommunikationen von den zugewiesenen Teilnehmern empfängt; und
einen Systemmanager bei der Datenkommunikation mit den Heimschnittstellen-Controllern zum Zuweisen des Frame-Servers oder einer der Mehrzahl von interaktiven Controllern zu einem Heimschnittstellen-Controller, der einen interaktiven Dienst anfragt.

Claims (11)

  1. Kabelsystem-Kopfstelle, die mit einem Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk verbunden ist, zum Liefern von Informationsdiensten an Teilnehmer-Fernseher, die jeweils einem Heimschnittstellen-Controller zugeordnet sind, wobei die Kopfstelle umfasst: eine Mehrzahl von interaktiven Controllern jeweils zum Empfangen von Datenkommunikationen von einem zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controller und zum Erzeugen von Informationssignalen, die über Fernsehsignale durch das Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk an den Teilnehmer-Fernseher des zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controllers zu liefern sind; einen Frame-Server zum schnittstellenmäßigen Verbinden mit einer Mehrzahl von Heimschnittstellen-Controllern, die dem Frame-Server für interaktiven Dienst zugewiesen sind, wobei der Frame-Server interaktive Seiten erzeugt, die an die den zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controllern zugeordneten Teilnehmer-Fernseher in digital codierten Fernsehsignalen über das Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk zu liefern sind, und Datenkommunikationen von den zugewiesenen Teilnehmern empfängt; und einen Systemmanager bei der Datenkommunikation mit den Heimschnittstellen-Controllern zum Zuweisen des Frame-Servers oder einer der Mehrzahl von interaktiven Controllern zu einem Heimschnittstellen-Controller, der einen interaktiven Dienst anfragt.
  2. Kabelsystem-Kopfstelle gemäß Anspruch 1, bei der das Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk eine Mehrzahl von Kabeln umfasst, die jeweils einen unterschiedlichen Versorgungsbereich versorgen, und ferner mit einem Schalter zum Lenken jedes Fernsehsignals von einem der Mehrzahl von interaktiven Controllern zu dem Kabel, das den Versorgungsbereich versorgt, bei dem der jeweilige zugewiesene Heimschnittstellen-Controller versorgt wird.
  3. Kabelsystem-Kopfstelle gemäß Anspruch 2, ferner mit einem gemeinsamen Kanal, der im ganzen Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk zum Führen der digital codierten Fernsehsignale von dem Frame-Server übertragen wird.
  4. Kabelsystem-Kopfstelle gemäß Anspruch 1, bei dem die in dem Frame-Server erzeugten interaktiven Seiten einzeln an die zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controller adressiert sind.
  5. Kabelsystem-Kopfstelle gemäß Anspruch 1, ferner mit einem gemeinsamen Kanal, der im ganzen Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk zum Führen der digital codierten Fernsehsignale von dem Frame-Server übertragen wird.
  6. Interaktives Kabelsystem, mit: (i) einem Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk zum Liefern von Informationsdiensten von einer Kopfstelle an Teilnehmer-Fernseher; (ii) einer Mehrzahl von Heimschnittstellen-Controller, wobei jeder Heimschnittstellen-Controller einem Teilnehmer-Fernseher zugeordnet ist und einen Daten-Transceiver aufweist, der über einen Datenkommunikations-Link zu dem Kopfende betriebsfähig ist; (iii) einer Mehrzahl von Teilnehmer-Auswahlvorrichtungen, wobei jede derartige Vorrichtung einem Heimschnittstellen-Controller zugeordnet und in Kommunikation mit dem Daten-Transceiver davon ist; (iv) einer Mehrzahl von interaktiven Controllern, die an dem Kopfende angeordnet sind, die in zuweisbarer Datenkommunikation mit einem zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controller und in Fernsehkommunikation über das Netzwerk mit dem dem zugewiesenen Teilnehmer-Fernseher zugeordneten Teilnehmer-Fernseher sind; und (v) einem Frame-Server zum schnittstellenmäßigen Verbinden mit einer Mehrzahl von Heimschnittstellen-Controllern, die dem Frame-Server für den interaktiven Dienst zugewiesen sind, wobei der Frame-Server interaktive Seiten erzeugt, die an die den zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controllern zugeordneten Teilnehmer-Fernseher in digital codierten Fernsehsignalen über das Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk zu liefern sind, und Datenkommunikationen von den zugewiesenen Teilnehmern empfängt.
  7. Interaktives Kabelsystem gemäß Anspruch 6, bei dem jeder der Heimschnittstellen-Controller ein Cursor-Steuerprogramm aufweist, das von Signalen der zugeordneten Teilnehmer-Auswahlvorrichtung abhängig ist, um einen Cursor anzuzeigen und den Cursor auf einem auf dem zugeordneten Teilnehmer-Fernseher angezeigten Bild zu bewegen.
  8. Interaktives Kabelsystem gemäß Anspruch 6, bei dem das Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk eine Mehrzahl von Kabeln umfasst, die jeweils einen unterschiedlichen Versorgungsbereich versorgen, und wobei das interaktive Kabelsystem ferner einen Schalter zum Lenken jedes Fernsehsignals von einer der Mehrzahl von interaktiven Controllern zu dem Kabel umfasst, das den Versorgungsbereich versorgt, in dem der jeweilige zugewiesene Heimschnittstellen-Controller versorgt wird.
  9. Interaktives Kabelsystem gemäß Anspruch 8, ferner mit einem gemeinsamen Kanal, der im ganzen Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk zum Führen der digital codierten Fernsehsignale von dem Frame-Server übertragen wird.
  10. Interaktives Kabelsystem gemäß Anspruch 6, bei dem die in dem Frame-Server erzeugten interaktiven Seiten einzeln an die zugewiesenen Heimschnittstellen-Controller adressiert sind.
  11. Interaktives Kabelsystem gemäß Anspruch 6, ferner mit einem gemeinsamen Kanal, der im ganzen Informationsdienst-Verteilungsnetzwerk zum Führen der digital codierten Fernsehsignale von dem Frame-Server übertragen wird.
