Bei mikroprozessorgesteuerten Druckverfahren in Frankier- und Wertstempelmaschinen werden durch Mikroprozessoren sowie Speicher und Register die Stempelabdrucke erzeugt. Dabei wird erst unmittelbar vor dem Druck das Druckmuster bzw. Druckbild erzeugt, z. B. aus Festdaten, wie einem Klischeemuster, und aktuellen Daten, wie Datum und Gebührenwert. Zusätzlich zu einem solchen Druckmuster wird erfindungsgemäß ein Identifikationsmerkmal abgedruckt. Um dieses Identifikationsmerkmal unfälschbar zu machen, werden Parameter der jeweiligen Maschine mit Teilen der zu druckenden Gebührenwerte und dem Datum verknüpft. Wie in der Figur 1 dargestellt, werden beispielsweise Maschinenparameter MP, wie Seriennummer oder Werksnummer sowie Anzahl der Drucke mit dem Datum DT und der Werteinstellung WE und ggf.
