Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for filling hollow bodies according to the preamble of claim 1, and a device suitable for carrying out the method.
- Various methods are used to fill hollow bodies with a filling gas or gas mixture.
- displacement technology a hollow body is opened, for example, at the lower and upper ends and flooded with the filling gas in such a way that the air in the hollow body is displaced.
- filling can be carried out from below with a filling gas which is heavier than air, so that displacement takes place by means of a piston flow.
- vacuum filling processes are also used, in which the hollow bodies to be filled with filling gas are evacuated and then charged with the filling gas. This process is used, for example, in the production of insulating glass panes.
- panes are placed vertically on a trestle and placed in a vacuum container with an opening in the upper pane area.
- the vacuum container is evacuated with the insulating glass pane to a pressure of approx. 50 mbar. Thereupon it is flooded with the filling gas, whereupon both the vacuum container and the interior of the insulating glass panes are filled with gas. The opening of the insulating glass pane is then closed.
- a disadvantage of this method is that high filling gas losses occur because not only the hollow bodies or insulating glass panes to be filled are filled, but also the volumes between the hollow bodies to be filled. The process is therefore very expensive since the filling gases are generally very expensive.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a method and a device with which a filling of hollow bodies is possible without loss of fill gas.
- FIG. 1 shows an evacuable environment 1 in the form of a container, which is connected to a filling gas storage device 4 by a line 2, which has a probe 3 which projects into the container.
- An inlet opening 5 with a metering valve 6 and a line 7, which is connected to a pump 8, are attached to the container.
- the container has an inlet 9 and an outlet 10 in the form of lids which seal in a vacuum-tight manner and which enable the introduction and removal of a hollow body 11 through a roller conveyor 12.
- the hollow body 11 has at its lower end an opening 13 through which the probe 3 can be inserted.
- the container contains means for locking the opening 13 of the hollow body 11 over the probe 3 or for centering over the opening, which are not shown in FIG. 1.
- a bore 14 is made in the hollow body 11, through which a pressure measurement in the interior of the hollow body 11 can take place.
- the line 2 which is used to insert the probe 3 does not open into the container from below, but from the side. Accordingly, the opening 13 of the hollow body 11 is laterally attached. Furthermore, the inlet opening 5 and the metering valve 6 are attached to the line 7.
- the hollow bodies 11 designed as insulating glass panes are, according to FIG. 1, after assembly assembled vertically via a roller conveyor 12 to an evacuable environment 1 in the form of a container which is integrated in the automatic production line but can also be arranged outside the production line.
- the roller conveyor 12 opens via the entrance 9 into the container, which can usually accommodate an insulating glass pane.
- a device is also conceivable in which several insulating glass panes can be introduced into the container in one working cycle.
- the opening 13 located on the lower side of the insulating glass pane is positioned and locked exactly above the probe 3.
- Figure 2 shows an embodiment of the device according to the invention, in which the probe 3 is inserted into a laterally arranged opening 13 of the insulating glass pane.
- the disks are stacked horizontally and filled laterally, for example.
- probe 3 is inserted into the opening 13 for filling the insulating glass pane, as a result of which the opening 13 is closed gas-tight at the same time.
- probe 3 is to be understood as any device suitable for filling, which supplies the interior of the insulating glass pane with filling gas. When filling insulating glass panes, a gas with low thermal conductivity is selected as the filling gas.
- Argon, xenon, krypton or SF 6 are particularly suitable for this.
- the method and the device can also be used to meter in other high-quality gases, such as helium, and gas mixtures which meet other requirements.
- the probe 3 After the probe 3 has been inserted into the opening 13 of the insulating glass pane, the interior of the insulating glass pane is filled with filling gas and the container is filled with air or another cheap gas via the inlet opening 5.
- the filling takes place in such a way that the pressure in the interior of the insulating glass pane and in the container is at least approximately the same at all times during the filling.
- the filling of the insulating glass pane is carried out in a controlled manner, either by registering the gas flow through the probe or the pressure in the interior of the insulating glass pane or both by a sensor by pressure measurement.
- the filling speed of the. Is controlled by a control unit in which these measured variables are used Adjusted container so that the pressure difference between the interior of the insulating glass pane and the interior of the container is approximately or preferably equal to zero.
- the metering valve 6 is activated, which enables the air to be admitted. This prevents implosion of the insulating glass pane.
- the evacuation is carried out completely in the same way as the filling, adjusting the internal pressure of the insulating glass pane and the pressure in the interior of the container.
- the container is opened and the insulating glass pane can be removed via the outlet 10.
- the opening 13 in the insulating glass pane can be closed both in the container and immediately after the container has been opened.
- the closure can take place fully automatically by inserting a plastic stopper into the opening 13.
- the device required for this which is not shown in the drawings, can be integrated in the container. After sealing, a complete seal is possible.
- the evacuable environment 1 need not be a separate container, but can also be formed by any other space, for example it can also be part of an automatic filling machine.
- the evacuable container is replaced by a suction device which encompasses the insulating glass pane on both sides of the window frame and, when the interior of the insulating glass pane is evacuated, at the same time causes a pressure adjustment on the surface of the insulating glass pane which synchronizes with the pressure change in the interior of the insulating glass pane Evacuation and filling takes place.
- the method according to the invention can be applied to filling tasks in various technical areas, in particular when fragile goods are to be filled with low consumption of protective gas, insulating gas or special gas.
- lamps, fluorescent tubes or solar collectors can be filled with special gases suitable for their function.
- the method according to the invention can be used for all pressure-sensitive and / or translucent hollow bodies. It is possible to use gases and gas mixtures without any problems.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for filling hollow bodies according to the preamble of
Various methods are used to fill hollow bodies with a filling gas or gas mixture. In the so-called displacement technology, a hollow body is opened, for example, at the lower and upper ends and flooded with the filling gas in such a way that the air in the hollow body is displaced. In this case, filling can be carried out from below with a filling gas which is heavier than air, so that displacement takes place by means of a piston flow. To mix the filling gas with the air To prevent turbulence, vacuum filling processes are also used, in which the hollow bodies to be filled with filling gas are evacuated and then charged with the filling gas. This process is used, for example, in the production of insulating glass panes. As a rule, several panes are placed vertically on a trestle and placed in a vacuum container with an opening in the upper pane area. The vacuum container is evacuated with the insulating glass pane to a pressure of approx. 50 mbar. Thereupon it is flooded with the filling gas, whereupon both the vacuum container and the interior of the insulating glass panes are filled with gas. The opening of the insulating glass pane is then closed. A disadvantage of this method is that high filling gas losses occur because not only the hollow bodies or insulating glass panes to be filled are filled, but also the volumes between the hollow bodies to be filled. The process is therefore very expensive since the filling gases are generally very expensive.
The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a method and a device with which a filling of hollow bodies is possible without loss of fill gas.
Starting from the prior art taken into account in the preamble of

In FIG. 2, the same device features are assigned the same reference symbols.
It differs from FIG. 1 in the main that the
In the following, the invention will be explained by way of example with reference to the production of insulating glass. The
It can optionally on all sides of the insulating glass pane, but preferably on the same. Side like the
