Abstract

The invention relates to an articulated leg section (10) for supporting a leg of a patient wherein the leg section comprises a hinged leg support (70), a rotating joint (42,44,46,48) for rotation of the leg support (70) and a clamp (41) for controlling movement of the hinged leg support (70) and the rotating joint (40,42,44,46,48) wherein:
the rotating joint has a locked position and an unlocked position;
the hinged leg support may be locked; and
the clamp is actuable to unlock the rotating joint and the hinged leg support;

and to a cushion release mechanism.
