IMPROVEMENT IN CORPSE-PRESERVERS.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MAHLON R. MARGER M, of the city of Trenton, in the county of Mercer and State of New Jersey, have invented anew and useful Improvement in (Jorpse-Preserrers f and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing which forms a part of these specifications and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

Figure 1 is an exterior view of the box.

Figure 2 is an interior view of the same.

Figure 3 is a plan.

Figure 4 is the cooling-board, showing the plates.

Similar letters of reference, where they occur, denote like parts in the drawing.

T This invention consists in an improvement in the mode of raising or lowering the body while in the corpseprescrver, either to bring it in closer proximity with the ice-pan or for convenience in dressing.

That others may be enabled to make use of my inventiou, I will proceed to describe it.

A is a key or lever, which fits on the end of the shafts b b at we, to which are attached the perforated su 'iportiug' frames B B working in the top boxes 0 0, having the rollers G G in each end thereof, and the tongues D 1) working in the ratchets E-E.

When the supporting frames are raised they can be lowered by means of the trips F F, by the simple pressure of the hand, and are'preventcd from being raised beyond the maximum or necessary height by the lug G on the supporting frame.

The cooling-board H, provided with the plates I I I I, rests on the rollers G O in the supporting frames B B, and may be raised at either end by turning the key or lever A, and lowered by means of the trip F.

The rollers O O can be constructed of metal or wood,

but wood is more preferable for convenience of manu- D, the ratchet E, trip F, lug G, and the plates I I and K K, when arranged, constructed,'and combined substantially as herein shown and described, in and for the purposes set forth.
