IMPROVEMENT IN MOUSE -TRAPS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 122,318, dated January 2, 1872.

SIEOIFICATION.

I, GEORGE L. HART, of New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Mouse-Trap, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a top or plan View. Fig. 2 is a side view-set. Fig. 3 is a central vertical section of the trap in the same adjustment as in c Fig. 1, the plane of the section being through the dotted line .70 m in Fig. 1.

will press forward upon this part of the catch till the saddle catches under the notch fand the trap is set. The rear end of the catch is mortised out, and in this mortise fits the upper end of the bait-hook g, pivoted to the block upon the wire 70, which said end is square with a square mortise through it, and is turned at about a right angle to the front.

When the mouse pulls upon the bait, which is to be put upon the lower end of the baithook, the rear end of the catch is raised and the front end turned forward on the pivot till the saddle is released, when the trap is sprung.

I claim as my inv ention- The combination and arrangement of the catch 01 and bait-hook g, constructed and operated substantially as described.
