MULTIPLE CAR-FARE TICKET-CARD FOR STREET-GARS.
'Specication of Letters Patent. Pailggtggd Feb, 15, plbg Original application le August 9, i918, Serial No. 249,063. Divided and this application filed. January fo all w heim t may concern Be it known that I, FRANK G. WANDER, a citizen of the `United States of America, residing at Washington, District of Columbia, have invented certain new and useful Im` provements in Multiple Gar-Fare Ticket- Cards for Street-Cars, whereof the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a multiplex ticket card for my street car fare registry 4system described and claimed in my application, Serial No. 249,063 filed in the United States Patent Oiiice August 9, 1918, whereof this application is a division.
The object of this invention is to provide a fare card carrying a plurality of ticket sections adapted to be punched out at the time the registry is made.
Figure 1 of the accompanying drawings represents the obverse face of a ticket card gated rectangular card y10 provided on its obverse face with a panel l1 bearing the legend Car fare ticket card and a space for the name of the street railway company issuing it, and below said panel with a series of ticket sections 12 disposed in a row beneath said panel. Each of these ticket sections is provided with an individual fare ticket 13, preferably circular in form and bearing the name of the company and the words One fare. The divisionsV forming the ticket sections are indicated by printed lines or otherwise and the divisions forming the tickets in the respective ticket sections are indicated by circular lines also in print or otherwise. The indicated tickets are of less area than the ticketV sections, sufficient to leave a margin which will avoid injury to the ticket card in the punching out of the tickets therefrom. The reverse face of the card is provided with a panel 14 constituting the upper half thereof and having reading matter thereon in the form preferably of a notice to the passenger to have the car fare ticket card ready for punching on en- Seral No. 352,482.
tering the car and a statement that each ticket on the card is good for one fare, etc. Below said panel the ticket card is divided into ticket sections 12 and tickets 13 correponding with the division on the obverse ace.
In the use of this ticket card, the passenger presents it to the conductor on entering the car and mentions the number of fares to be punched out therefrom. The conductor places the ticket in the punching apparatus forming a part of the registry system aforesaid and actuates said apparatus and one or more of the circular tickets 13 is punched out from the card as directed by the passenger and simultaneously registered on the car register within the car. The so cut-out ticket drops into the receptacle of the punching apparatus and the ticket card is returned to the passenger.`
The embodiment may be varied within the scope ofthe claims without departure from the invention.
I claim as my invention:
1. A car fare ticket card provided with a plurality of integral fare tickets of the same denomination, each ticket containing a legend designating one fare and each ticket being adapted to be punched out bodily from said ticket card in payment of a single car fare and to serve as a voucher for such payment.
2. A car fare ticket card consisting of an elongated rectangular card having along one side a row of ticket sections, said ticket sections containing respectively integrai fare tickets of the same denomination, each fare ticket containing a legend designating one fare and being adapted to be punched out bodily from said card in payment of a single car fare and to be preserved as a voucher of said payment.
3. A multiplex car fare ticket card provided with a plurality of indicated ticket sections, said sections having respectively indicated integral fare tickets of the same denomination and of less area than the sections in which they are respectively located, each ticket being adapted to be punched out bodily from said card in payment of a single fare and to serve as a voucher of said payment.
