One object of th's invention is to provide a metal inclosure of the above nature provided with a smooth exterior surface and having no unsightly projections which would be likely to catch dirt, moisture, etc., Whereby said inclosure will be made san tary and A further object is to provide an mclosure of the above nature having adjustable means to permit it to tit against walls having un- 29 even or slanting surfaces A further object is to prov de an improved form of locking mechanism for the door of the inclosure.

The side of ,the inclosure is provided with a panel 24, said panel being spaced a considerable distance from the head rail 16 and the floor, a short distance from the adjacent ivall, this construction permitting the edges of said panel to ;be readily cleaned or Pai ted il making it unne es y to accurately fit the edges of the panel-to the head rail, floor, or all.
The ,front edge of the panel is adapted to fit snugly-into the rear fluted groove of the post 10, whereby a tight neat joint Will be provided excluding light, dust and moisture.

The free end of thedoor is provided with a handle 4,3 ffoi'. convenience in manipulalion,'and also has a lock mechanism, more clearly shown in Fig. 6. The lock mechanis ln comprises a pair of upper and lower flanges, 4 ffa'nd 4. 2 for attachment to the door has acentralraised casing for 'housingthe lock bolt 46, saidflanges and easing being reinforcedby integral inclined ribs 46. The casing, 45 is provided with a horizontalslot 47, said slot having a pair of downwardly extending. notches 48 and 49. Thefront edge jofthe casing {L5 is provided with an opening 50 within which the lock bolt. 46 isadapted to slide, the rear of said bolt being providedwith a hand knob 51, saidkn'ob being adapted to drop by gravity into either, of the notches 48 or g 49.
By means of this construction, when a person desires to enter the inclosure, he will first open the door outwardly and permit the door to close inwardly under the influence of the springhinge 43. He will then lift the hand 'knob 51' out ofthe notch 48 and slide the bolt 46 inthe slot 47 to'the left, as shown in 'Fig. 6, until the knob51j drops into the notch 47. The bolt 46 will then hold the door locked until the occupant desires to leave the inclosure.
In order to fill up the space between the endofa row of inclosures and the wall of the room, provision is made of an auxiliary or extension panel 57. The left hand edge of the panel 57, as viewed in Fig. 3, fits snugly into one of the fluted grooves of the post/11, while the right-hand edge of said panel is loosely and adjustably telescoped within an open vertical slot formed in a wall. post 58. Thewall post 58 is U-shaped in cross-section, as shown in Fig.4, and has in-turned flanges 59 at its open side to engage opposite sides of said panel 57. The top and bottom ends ofthe wall strips 60. l I y g In order to detachably securet-he wall post 58 to the wall of the room, the base 61 thereof is provided near its upper and lower ends with elongated rectangular slots 62. A pair of resilient locking clips 63 having curved wedgeshaped end sections 64 are pivotally secured to the wall by screws 65 and are adapted to be positioned within the slots 62 of the wall post 58.
In operation, when it is desired to attach the wall. a
post 58 are closed by flat metal a screw driver or other suitable implement,
the clips will nextbe swung around to horizontal position at which time the clips will resiliently press against the base 61 ofthe wall post and lock said post securely against One advantage of this construction is that the panel may be fitted to uneven or, slanting walls without altering the shape of the panel itself.

Having thus fully described the invention,
what is claimed as new,'and for which it is desiredto secure Letters Patent, is:
1. In a partition construction, a panel member, a hollow wall post adapted to fit against the wall of a room, said wall post having a flat base to be securedin contact' with .said wall, said base having a pair of slots, and a pair'of rotary locking clips secured to said wall and adapted to be rotated in said slots to lock said post to said wall.
