This invention relates to condensers and more particularly to an improved form of terminal clip for a roll type of condenser.
The object of the invention is to provide 5 a terminal clip for a roll type of condenser in which the clip is so Constructed and associated with the condenser body that a better electric or metallic contact between the body and clip will be afforded.
A practicable embodiment of the invention has been chosen for purposes of illustration in the drawings, in which drawings,

Figure 4 is an enlarged, fragmentary, perspective view of a portion of the clip; and,
Figure 5 is an enlarged view in cross section as appears along the line 55, looking in the'direction of the arrows appearing in Figure 1, in which the thickness of the condenser has been exaggerated.
The roll condenser may be of standard type involving a rectangularly shaped body 10 formed by a pressed roll of alternately arranged tin foil strips and condenser paper strips, as indicated in Figures 3 and 5. Channel shaped terminal clips 11 are provided for the ends of the condenser roll pack, which clips are provided with the usual terminals 12. For the purpose of procuring a good metallic contact between the clip and the 10 into the condenser pack when the clips are forced over the ends of said pack, as clearly appears from the drawings, especially in the exaggerated view of Figure 5. Rivets 14: are then provided to secure the clips to the .12 pack, as appears best in Figure 2.
As shown in Figure 5, in this type of condenser, alternating layers of paper indicated by the light lines, and tin foil indicated by .the heavyline s are arranged in a stack, the

The foil is so arranged in two sets that alternate layers thereof are relatively ofi'set so that at each edge of the condenser one set of charge receiving foil layers 0 projects beyond the other set of foil layers to form a single terminal foil mass intowhich the prongs bite. Such standard condenser pack is shown and described, for example, in the lDeutschmann Patent Number 1,735,381 issued November 12, 1929.
With this perforated prong structure, it is now obvious that a good metallic connection is afi'orded between the bod of the condenser and the terminal clips. %bviously in practice the prongs can be formed otherwise than by punching the same out. Accordingly, it is the intention in the following claims to cover any such immaterial changes in the illustrated embodiment herein disclosed as do not materially depart from the inven tion.
What is claimed as new is:
1. A metallic terminal clip for a fiat, rectangularly shaped condenser pack embodying alternate layers of foil and paper, said clip comprising a channel-shaped piece embracing an edge of the pack, rivets passed through the sides otthe channel piece and pack to secure. the parts together, and prongs pressed from the end face of the channel piece, said prongs biting into the edge of alternate foil layers to make metallic contact of the clip with the foil,

A metallic terminal clip for a flat, rectangularly shaped condenser pack embodying alternate layers of foil and paper, said clip comprising a channel-shaped piece embracing an edge of the pack, rivets passed through the sides of the channel piece and pack to secure the parts together, and a plurality of pressed out indentations formed in the end face of the channel piece whereby each indentation provides multiple prongs, said prongs biting into the edge of alternate toil layers to make metallic contact of the clip with the foil.
