To all whom it may concern..-

Be it known that I, FRANK BECKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at McKeesport, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in One and Ball Racks and TipFasteners; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.

My invention relates to a combined cue and ball rack and tip-fastener; and it consists in a cue'rack of ordinary construction provided at the rear with a rack for storing cues and a number of vertically-moving weights for attaching the tips to the ends of cues, and of pool-ball racks below and drawers for storing the billiard-balls when the same are not in use, together with certain other details of construction and combination of parts, as will be fully set forth hereinafter.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a front elevation of my improved rack constructed in accordance with myinvention. Fig. 2 is aside sectional elevation of the same. Fig. 3 is a sectional plan view of the rack, taken on the line at as.

To construct a combined one and ball rack in accordance with my invention, I form from suitable timber a double cue-rack, the one I) at the rear of the other, a, and separated the one from the other by the doors a, hinged to open outward. These racks a I) each consists of a baseboard, (1, having small pockets or depressions formed therein, in which the butt of the cues crests, and at the top a perforated or open slotted board, g, in which the top portion of the cues c is confined. At the top of the rear rack, Z), and directly above each cue e therein, is arranged a weight, h, capable of moving vertically over suitable guides, Z, by means of a cord, 71, secured thereto, and small bearing-pulley 7a. This weight It may be retained at the top of the rack 12 by attaching the cord 2' to a hook, to, driven into the rear wall of the rack b. Beneath these two racks a b, I construct two sets ofpool-ball racks, it, having an intervening space, 0, between the two, in which a small basket and brush may be placed. Beneath each of these ball-racks n is a drawer, in, used for storing the balls used on billardtables.

Vhen replacing leathers or tips on the ends of cues, it is necessary that a constant pressure be kept against the same for several hours in order to give theglue or cement an opportunity to become thoroughly set. By placing such cues ein the rear rack, I), and allowing the weight hto rest thereon the tips are firmly attached.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A combined one and ball rack consisting of the two racks a b, separated the one from the other by the hinged doors 0, the verticallymoving weight it and a means for operating the same, the ball-racks n, and drawers m, and an intervening space, 0, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
