Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 49,766, dated September 5, 1865.

.The present invention consists in combining in one and the same piece of furnitiu a bureau and commode, the commode being so arranged with regard to the bureau as to be moved out and in of the saine,according as it is desired to use it, the commode, when not in use, being wholly incased within the bureau.

Upon the opposite portion of the bureau to that in which the commode is placed drawers may be arranged; but I deem it quite desiring-stand therein, in a substantially similar manner to that described for the commode, which stand can be also m'oved'outand in, and is intended for use asa bidet, so called. This stand can be provided with drawers in its lower portion or made with a closet, as may bedeemed most desirable.

I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent v -A combined bureau and commode, either with or without a bidet, made substantially as herein described, for the purposes specified.
