WATCH-MOVEMENT BOX.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 536,440, dated March 26, 1 895.
Application filed June 22, 1894- To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, CHARLES MORLET and PROSPER NORDMANN, watchmakers, of Geneva, Switzerland, have invented a certain new and useful Improved and Simple Packing-Box for Watch-Movements, of which the following is a specification.
This invention consists of an improved and I simple packing box for watch-movements, and
is intended to perfectly protect such movements against dust and breakage, and toallow all necessary room for safely locating the dial hands and all projections existing on the periphery of the watch-movement.
In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 is a partial cross-section of our improved packing box and cover showing watch-works placed therein. Fig. 2 is an inside view of the cover, and Fig. 3 is an inside view of the box.
In all three figures the same letters refer to the same parts.
The box is formed of a box proper A and of a cover B. The first one is formed of a cylindrical ring a having an inwardly projecting border a and an outwardly projecting border a. The border a is intended to receive the watch-movement G, the usual border or shoulder 0 of which bears upon the said border (1. The border a is inserted into a turned-in rim or border a. of the bottom-plate a of the box.

round the cylindrical part a of box A and is provided with a shoulder b so disposed as to bear upon the dial D of the watch-movement inserted in the rim a without preventing the rotation of the hands E. i
The projections c c which may exist on the periphery of the watch-movement O are located beneath the rim a which is broad enough as to allow one and the same box to be used for watch-movements of difierent construotions.
Having thus fully described our invention, we claim- A packing-box for watch-movements, consisting of the box-proper, comprising a ring having inturned and out -turned annular flanges at the upper and lower edges respectively and the bottom plate having a rim turned or spun over the lower out-turned flange of said ring, and of a cover provided with an inner annular shoulder and adapted to fit over said ring, substantially as set forth.
