Be it known that I, CHARLES H. NIELsEN, a resident, of Kreischerville, in the county of Richmond and city and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tables, of which the following is a specification. Y p

My invention is an improvement in tables, the main object y being to provide a table capable of being cheaply made, which is port# able and equipped with seats, preferably on both sides, and which can be folded up'into a collapsed table for transportation purposes or for storage and unfolded and set up quickly when required for use without the use of tools or appliances other than those of the table itself. It will thus be, seen that my table is particularly designed and adapted for use at picnics and other gatherings of a similar character where temporary use only is r'equired.

In the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification, Figure l is a perspective View of the table set up ready for use, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the table in its folded or collapsed position ready for transportation or to be packed away.

The table-top Ais mounted on four legs B, B', C, and C'. One leg of each pair (marked B and B) is hinged to the table-top A by the hinge-bar D, the bar D uniting the leg B to the leg B', so that the two legs open and close under the table-topin unison. The legs C and C' are respectively fastened by pivot-bolts Ev to the legs B and Bl about midway of their lengths. The c ross-bars F are also pivoted to the table-legs by-bolts E at either end of the table, and the seats G are rigidly fastened to the outer ends of cross-bars F, the cross-bars F and seats G thus forming a hollow quadrangle, within which the table-top is pivotally f mounted and can be opened for use or folded or lcollapsed for transportation or storage.

The seats G are supported when in position foruse by the folding seat-legs H, which are hinged to the cross-bars F by the bolts I. The

seat-legs H are securely heldin their opened positions by the hook -rods J, fastened by staples K to the cross-bars F at their upper ends and at their lower hooked ends hooking Vinto the staples L near the lower ends of the seat-legs H. vThe upper ends of the tablevlegs C andC are provided with grooves M seats on either side thereof, legs to support the table-top and legs to support the seats,
