IMPROVED PAINT.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, F. C. SEMELROTH, of Logansport, in the county of Cass, and in the State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Paints; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.

My invention, which I call 5 The Elastic Preserving- Paint, consists of the following ingredients:

Rock paint, two pounds; hydiaulio cement, one pound; litharge, one pound; red lead, one pound; plaster Paris, two pounds; shellac varnish, one-half gallon;

boiled linseed-oil, one-lialfgallom' raw linseed-oil, two

gallons; coal-tar, ten gallons; and I It is made in the following manner:

The one-half gallon oil 'is first to be slowly boiled,-

add gradually the red lead and litharge. This mixture is then put into the oil, and the other ingredients added and well mixed.

I do not 'confine myself to the above-mentioned quantities, which are only mentioned to show the proper proportion of the ingredients, but it can be made in any quantity desired;

This paint is used for preserving any material usually exposed, such as roofs of houses, fences, &c.,

and if the material painted should be bent, this'paint will not break and scale oil, as is usually the case with paints, but will stretch and conform to the movement of thematerial painted, thus showing its elasticity.
