Aus der US 4 666 405 ist eine Vorrichtung beschrieben, bei der ein aus einem transparenten Material gefertig¬ ter Körper in eine mit lichtaushärtendem Material ge¬ füllten Kavität eingesetzt wird. Der Körper ist bei der bekannten Vorrichtung im wesentlichen kegelig ausgebil¬ det, nach Entfernen des Körpers wird der bei dem Aus¬ härten von diesem eingenommene Raum mit weiterem, in einem nächsten Arbeitsgang auszuhärtenden Material ge¬ füllt.From US 4,666,405 a device is described in which a body made of a transparent material is inserted into a cavity filled with light-curing material. Der Erfindung liegt damit die Aufgabe zugrunde, einen Inlay-Platzhalter zu schaffen, die zur Vorbereitung ei¬ ner Kavität für die Aufnahme vorfertigter Inlays geeig¬ net ist.

Der Inlay-Platzhalter zum Vorbereiten einer Kavität für die Aufnahme eines vorgefertigten Inlays besteht aus einem Körper 10 und einem Schaft 12. Der Körper 10 ent¬ spricht dabei in seiner Form dem Inlay, für' dessen Auf¬ nahme die Kavität vorbereitet werden soll, regelmäßig besteht der Körper aus einem den mittleren Raum der Ka¬ vität ausfüllenden Stegabschnitt und einem die Seiten¬ flächen der Kavität ausfüllenden Flanschabschnitt. Der Schaft 12 dient lediglich zur Handhabung des Körpers 10, also zu dessen Einsetzen in und Entnehmen aus der Kavität. Der im wesentlichen zylindrische Schaft 12 ist auf seiner von dem Körper 10 weg weisenden Stirnfläche mit einer Längsnut 14 versehen, an der die Ausrichtung der in die Kavität eingesetzten Vorrichtung erkannt werden kann. Bei Verwendung eines besonderen Bestecks dient diese Längsnut 14 auch zum Eingriff zwischen Be¬ steck und Vorrichtung.The inlay placeholder for preparing a cavity for receiving a prefabricated inlay consists of a body 10 and a shaft 12.
