Description

Vorrichtung zum Absaugen von Gasen und Partikeln Device for suction of gases and particles
The invention relates to a device for suctioning off gases and particles formed during surgical interventions, with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
During surgery, in which biological material is vaporized, gases are generated and particles are released that can be infectious or otherwise highly problematic from a hygienic point of view.
From DE 41 21 069 AI a device is known in which the gases and particles arising during surgical interventions are suctioned off and passed through a liquid container before being guided through a bacteria and virus-retentive filter. DE 37 06 717 A1, US Pat. No. 5,423,779 A and US Pat. No. 4,963,134 also disclose the use of hygienic filters for suctioning off gases and particles generated during surgical interventions.
The device mentioned does not solve the problem satisfactorily, since the disposal of the liquid in the container is quite problematic. Furthermore, the functionality of the filter is no longer sufficient after a relatively short period of time. The object of the invention is to improve the previously known device.
Die Unteransprüche geben vorteil¬ hafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung an.According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of the claim. The subclaims indicate advantageous embodiments of the invention.
The invention is explained below with reference to a drawing in which the device according to the invention is shown schematically.
The device has a device 12, which can be a commercially available vacuum cleaner motor, through which the system is subjected to a vacuum. The negative pressure generated has the effect that the gases (in particular flue gases) and particles which arise during the surgical intervention using a laser, an HF device or a cautery 13 into particles directed towards the operating field 16 by the operator or an assistant enter the held suction opening 10. Via a hose 11, the sucked-in gases and particles are passed through a heating device 18, which can be provided with heating wire elements. From this, the gases and particles then enter a hot-air section 19, which is designed as a tube in the exemplary embodiment shown and in which a very high temperature, for example 500 ° C., arises, which ensures sterilization of the gases and particles passed through it . The gases and particles emerging at the rear end of the device are therefore hygienically harmless.
In order to reliably ensure such sterilization, there is a thermostat 24 behind the heating device 18 provided that only switches on the device 12 for generating a negative pressure when a certain minimum temperature, for example 500 ° C., is reached. The gases are thus sucked out of the area of the operating field 16 via the suction opening 10 only when it is ensured that the hot air section 19 has reached a temperature sufficient for reliable sterilization.
The length of the hot air path 19 is chosen so that the period of time over which the gases and particles are subjected to heat is sufficient to effect reliable sterilization.
23) vorgesehen. In the exemplary embodiment shown, a catalytic converter 20, which is arranged between the hot air section 19 and the device 12 for generating a negative pressure, is further provided, which causes the sterilized gases and particles to be combusted before they pass through the outlet 25 into the environment (or a chimney). be dissipated. A filter (21 and 23) is provided in front of and behind the hot air section.
