Abstract

An image projection system comprising means for generating images (14), a light source (916-920) for illuminating the means for generating images such that light of a first polarization illuminates one region (82) of the means for generating images and light of a second polarization illuminates a second region (84) of the means for generating images. First and second polarization selective reflecting elements are provided for separating light from the source into the two polarized components. A projection lens (1276) is provided for enlarging the images onto a screen.
