Abstract

A method and apparatus for managing a fleet of mobile assets, such as locomotives (12), utilizing remote data transfer (36, 40), real time data monitoring (122), predictive failure analysis (132), and integrated work order processing (172). A global information network (15) is used to facilitate the communication and presentation of high volumes of data to various parties (14, 18, 22, 24) involved in the process.
