Abstract

A method and system for obtaining real-time commodity transaction information is provided. In an embodiment of the present invention, the commodity transaction information includes perishables sold, such as produce or dairy products. A first price for a first quantity of commodity at first time (301) is transferred from a first commodity processing device (101)to the central processing device (103). A second price for a second quantity of commodity at a second time (302) is transferred from a second commodity processing device (102) to the central processing device (103). The central processing device (103) stores the first price for the first quantity of commodity at a first time (301) and the second price for the second quantity of commodity at a second time (302). The first and second prices and respective quantities are provided to a user processing device from the central processing device. The real-time commodity transaction information includes a ticker and a price/volume chart (400) in an embodiment of the present invention.
