MEDICAL SERVICE METHOD USING COMMUNICATION NETWORK
TECHNICAL FIELD RELATED TO THE INVENTION AND PRIOR ART
The present invention relates to a medical service method using communication network by which contract is made between selected domestic and foreign medical institutions regarding medical service, insurance companies are interconnected via communication networks, medical information of patients is received for treatment via the communication networks between domestic and foreign medical institutions when insured patients are treated, whereby treatment contents are transmitted fore request of medical cost from related medical institutions to insurance companies via communication network, thereby receiving related medical cost.
People's income level has been upgraded along with nation's economic development, and as a result, there is a great demand where required level of people wanting to receive good quality of medical service has been also increased, such that each insurance company is made to develop to market own medical insurances, thereby allowing people to receive even in Korean a good quality of medical service through purchase of specialized insurance merchandise.
Now, medical service method according to the prior art will be described in detail with reference to the companying drawings.
Figure 1 is a schematic conceptional drawing for illustrating a service system relative to medical service perform between medical institutions and insurance companies according to the prior medical service, where the system includes a client 1, a first medical institution 2 for primarily taking charge of
medical service against the client's disease, a secondary medical institution 3 for taking charge of medical service against the client's disease, a tertiary medical institution 4 for taking charge of medical service against the client's disease, a foreign hospital 5 for taking charge of medical service at a foreign country against the client's disease and an insurance company 6 where the client is insured for curing his or her disease.
Now, detailed description will be made with reference to the attached drawing for describing about medical service method according to the prior art thus constructed.
First of all, when a client (patient) 1 is affected with disease, the client 1 receives a medical service against the affected disease at the primary medical institution 2 according to a medical service step arranged under the current national medical insurance system, and in case the client 1 is not satisfied with a result of the medical service at the primary medical institution 2, the client 1 gets treatment at the secondary medical institution 2, and in case the client 1 still feels dissatisfied at of result of the medical service at the secondary medical institution 2, the client 1 can get the medical treatment at the tertiary medical institution 3.
Meanwhile, if the client 1 is economically wealthy, he or she discriminates whether to get medical treatment at a local hospital or at a foreign hospital, and if the client 1 decides to get the medical service from a local hospital, he or she get the treatment through the above-mentioned steps, and if the client 1 decides to receives the medical service from a foreign hospital, the client 1 personally selects a foreign hospital 5 and travels to a foreign country to get a medical treatment at the foreign hospital 5.
At this time, the client 1 may personally selects a foreign hospital 5 to
get the medical service while or after receiving the medical treatment at the primary, secondary or tertiary institution (2, 3 or 4), or may select a foreign hospital 5 priorly contracted with the above institutions to get the medical treatment.
Meanwhile, in case a client 1 is insured in an insurance company 6 against a specific disease to have paid a premium, the client 1 affected with the disease may terminate the medical service if he or she is satisfied with a medical treatment result at one of the institutions (2, 3 or 4), and if the client 1 requests medical service fee to the insurance company 6, the company 6 discriminates whether the disease the client 1 is affected with is the disease insured by the client 1, and if the disease is discriminated to be the one insured, the insurance company 6 pays the medical fee to a medical institution where the medical service is terminated according to clauses of the insurance policy the client 1 is insured for.
However, there is a problem in the medical service method according to the prior art thus described in that an appropriate medical service cannot be provided because of low insurance fees under the current national medical insurance system, in case of long term medical treatment or high medical charges, and lots of absurdities occurred such as extra medical services being provided which have little direct relations with the disease afflicted with a patient.
Because of the reasons thus described, local clients seeking for high quality of medical services at foreign hospitals should have to pay a lot of expenses involving hefty medical fees, long term stay at foreign countries and the like.

First of all, domestic and foreign medical institutions, that is, the first, second and third medical institutions 12, 13 and 14 and foreign medical
institution 15 for providing medical service and latest medical information of a client are selected, where contracts are made for supplying the medical service and the latest medical information between the first, second and third medical institution 12, 13 and 14 and the foreign medical institution 15. (step SI and S2)
Successively, an insurance merchandise relevant to the contract is developed by both the selected domestic and foreign medical institutions to build up a super high speed communication network or exclusive communication network where the developed insurance merchandise is sold on/off line and insurances of ordinary people who want to be insured are checked, examined, approved, and insurance policies are issued, and information of insured clients are databased, whereby the client 11 who is insured against the insurance merchandise pays a certain amount of money to the insurance company 15 every month, (steps S3 ~ S8)
Furthermore, the foreign medical institution provides periodically or irregularly the medical service and latest medical information of the client to the domestic medical institutions according to the contract.
Successively, when the client 11 contracts a disease, he or she gets medical treatment at the first medical institution 12 contracted with the insurance company 16 according to medical service step under the current national medical insurance system, where the first medical institution 12 discriminates whether the disease the client 11 has contracted is insured, and if the disease is not insured, the first medical institution 12 performs a general insurance treatment, and if insured, discriminates whether the disease is treatable.
As a result of the discrimination, if the disease is treatable, the first
medical institution 12 comes to treat the client 11, and if necessary, is transferred with a latest medical information through the communication network, or exchanges medical information with a higher medical institution utilizing telemedicine to apply same to treatment. When the medical treatment is finished, the first medical institution 12 requests medical fees to the insurance company 16 through the communication network via an integrated server (not shown), where the insurance company 16 examines the requested medical fees and pays the medical fees. The first medical institution 12 may use the telemedicine to receive and transmit image data, thereby enabling to performs a remote operation on a patient.
At this time, medical treatment information of the client 11 is stored on a server (not shown) of the first medical institution 12 and transferred to an integrated server through the communication network via email, where the integrated server stores same on the integrated database to control the medical treatment information of the client 11. The medical treatment information including all treatment information necessary for treatment of a patient contains such information as name of disease, date treated, names of doctors who treated, medical opinion, etc.
Meanwhile, in case medical treatment is impossible at the first medical institution 12 or the treatment is not satisfactory when the treatment is finished, the client 11 may request transfer to the second medical institution 13, or personally visit the second medical institution 13 for treatment.
At this time, the second medical institution 13 discriminates according to the contract whether the client 11 can pay a visit thereto or treatment of the client 11 transferred from the first medical institution 12 can be possible, and if it is discriminated that the client 11 can be treated, the second medical institution 13 receives medical treat information from server of the first medical
institution 12 or from the integrated server to refer thereto while the client 11 is treated, and if necessary, receives a latest medical information via communication network, or utilizes the telemedicine to exchange medical information with a higher medical institution to apply same to treatment, and when the medical treatment is finished, requests medical fee to the insurance company 16. The insurance company 16 screens the requested medical fee to pay same. At this location, the second medical institution 13 utilizes the telemedicine to transmit and receive image data such that it is possible to perform operations on patients via remote control.
The medical treatment information of the client 11 is stored through a server (not shown) of the second medical institution 13 and transmitted to the integrated server via communication network in email, where the integrated server stores same on the integrated database to control the medical treatment information of the client 11.
The medical treatment information which is all medical information necessary for treatment of a patient includes, by way of example, name of disease, treatment data, names of doctors who have treated the patient, treatment opinion, etc.
Meanwhile, in case it is impossible to treat the client 11 at the second medical institution 13 or if the client 11 does not feel satisfactory thereat, the client 11 may be transferred or request transfer to the third medical institution 14 or personally pays a visit to the third medical institution 14 for treatment.
At this time, the third medical institution 14 discriminates according to the contract whether the client 11 can pay a visit thereto or treatment of the client 11 transferred from the second medical institution 12 can be possible, and if it is discriminated that the client 11 can be treated, the third medical
institution 14 receives medical treat information from server of the first and/or second medical institution 12, 13 or from the integrated server to refer thereto while the client 11 is treated, and if necessary, receives a latest medical information via communication network, or utilizes the telemedicine to exchange medical information with a higher medical institution to apply same to treatment, and when the medical treatment is finished, requests medical fee to the insurance company 16. The insurance company 16 screens the requested medical fee to pay same. At this location, the third medical institution 14 utilizes the telemedicine to transmit and receive image data such that it is possible to perform operations on patients via remote control.
The medical treatment information of the client 11 is stored through a server (not shown) of the third medical institution 14 and transmitted to the integrated server via communication network in email, where the integrated server stores same on the integrated database to control the medical treatment information of the client 11.
The medical treatment information which is all medical information necessary for treatment of a patient includes, by way of example, name of disease, treatment data, names of doctors who have treated the patient, treatment opinion, etc.
Meanwhile, in case it is impossible to treat the client 11 at the third medical institution 14 or if the client 11 does not feel satisfactory thereat, the client 11 may be transferred or request transfer to the foreign medical institution 15 or personally pays a visit to the foreign medical institution 15 for treatment.
Then, the foreign medical institution 15 discriminates according to the contract whether the client 11 can pay a visit thereto or treatment of the client
11 transferred from the second medical institution 13 can be possible, and if it is discriminated that the client 11 can be treated, the third medical institution 13 receives medical treat information from server of the first, second and third medical institutions 12, 13, 14 or from the integrated server to refer thereto while the client 11 is treated, and if necessary, receives a latest medical information via communication network, or utilizes the telemedicine to exchange medical information with higher and lower medical institution to apply same to treatment, and when the medical treatment is finished, requests medical fee to the insurance company 16. The insurance company 16 screens the requested medical fee to pay same.
The medical treatment information of the client 11 is stored through a server (not shown) of the foreign medical institution 15 and transmitted to the integrated server via communication network in email, where the integrated server stores same on the integrated database to control the medical treatment information of the client 11.
The medical treatment information which is all medical information necessary for treatment of a patient includes, by way of example, name of disease, treatment data, names of doctors who have treated the patient, treatment opinion, etc.
As mentioned above, domestic and foreign medical institutions are selected, and insurance merchandises are developed and sold by the selected domestic and foreign medical institutions as well as the insurance company, and receive insurance fee from the client 11. When the client 11 is afflicted with a disease, a discrimination is made as to whether the client is insured with insurance merchandise for the disease the client 11 is attacked with, and if the disease is not the one insured, the client 11 is made to be treated with a regular insurance treatment, and if the disease is the one insured, the client 11 is
allowed to be treated at a medical institution where the disease can be treated. If necessary, a latest medical information or information is exchanged with a higher medical institution via telemedicine or operation is performed by remote control to thereby allow the client 11 to receive a better medical service, here the medical institution can receive appropriate medical fees from the insurance company 16 pursuant to the insurance merchandise.
Now, medical service method using communication network according to the present invention will be described in more details with reference to Figures 4, 5 and 6.
