Abstract

A method and system for interconnecting intelligent devices (10, 110, 120) (mobile or wired) with a remote network (70), while avoiding the need to use special remote applications loaded on the intelligent devices (10, 110, 120). This includes the use of proxy applications for remote controlling of items accessible via the remote network (70). The system includes a manager (220) module and multiple tails modules (230). The manager (220) provides for user access from a remote intelligent device (10, 110, 120) to one or more tails (230). The tails (230) either include clients for interfacing to a network or protocol, or the tails (230) function as interfaces to commercially available clients for interfacing to a network or protocol.
