Abstract

A method for the transmission of encoded information is disclosed, which serves to add the encoded information to a data stream, whereupon said encoded information is decoded on the receiver side and then used for allotting a discount or a cash payment. The data stream is advantageously sent by means of digital broadcast signals, whereby digital broadcast transmissions such as DAB have convenient possibilities for additional information inclusion. The encoded information can then be decoded by means of a chipcard and also stored on said chipcard. The encoded information is then mostly transmitted with advertisements, in order to thus generate a direct relationship with a product and producer. The allotting of a discount or cash payment can either be achieved with the chipcard in an electronic manner or by input on a terminal.
