Abstract

An interactive television program guide application (Figure 24) may allow a user to restrict VOD programming by program type, program, rating, keyword, or any other suitable criteria (298-306). The interactive television program guide application (Figure 24) may allow the user to indicate potentially objectionable keywords to mask (298). The keywords may be selected by the user from predefined groups of words or specifically defined by the user (298). The interactive television program guide application (Figure 24) may further enable the user to access restricted VOD programming or content by supplying valid authorization information (Figure 31). The system may restrict VOD and other content associated with broadcast content that the user has indicated should be restricted.
