Abstract

The disclosed embodiments provide devices and methods for providing versatile user interface for an electronic device. In one embodiment, the device includes a display and a plurality of modular layers, each deployable in a different direction. The method includes deploying one of the modular layers, detecting which one of the modular layers is deployed, and orienting information presented on the display based on the deployed modular layer. In one embodiment, the method provides for detecting which one of the module layers is deployed, and providing an operational mode based on the deployed module layer. In another embodiment, each of the modular layers includes a keyboard with a different functionality.
