Description

Description UTV MEDIA SERVICE METHOD AND SYSTEM
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates, in general, to a UTV(UCC Tiva Vision) media service method and system, and, more particularly, to a UTV media service method and system, in which a user sets content desired to be exposed at a specific point of time and at a specific public place, both a local system and a user terminal perform an authentication process through mutual recognition therebetween when the user, who schedules the exposure of content, comes within a certain distance of the public place at which the local system is installed, and thereafter, various types of content, which have been set by the user and are related to the user, or various types of content for events, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, and the celebration of anniversaries, can be displayed at the preset specific point of time.
[2] This invention is advantageous in that an advertisement image provided by an advertiser is displayed together with content for various types of events during the display of the content, thus maximizing an advertising effect from the standpoint of an advertiser, and obtaining incentives from the advertiser through the active use of the advertisement image for events and reducing costs required to hold events from the standpoint of a user. Background Art
[3] Generally, modern people do not hesitate to externally express their personalities and tastes. In particular, they recognize differences from others as their personalities and express the differences using various methods in daily life.
[4] For example, a declaration of affection, a proposal of marriage, anniversaries of couples, etc. are important events, and thus persons desire to make memorable experiences for their loved ones while impressing them. For this, persons may occasionally spend a lot of time and cost planning to hold an event and spending a long period of time preparing articles for that event.
[5] For example, the types of events are variably realized in such a way that a person may prepare many flowers and declare his or her affections for his or her loved one at a public place at which a crowd is gathered, or may reserve a special place and propose marriage at that place in public.
[6] As described above, modern people actively prepare various events, in which their own personalities can be expressed, such as a declaration of affection, a proposal of marriage, an anniversary for a loved one, and the celebration of birthdays. However, in most cases, systems supporting these events are limitedly used, and thus persons personally prepare a desired event from the beginning by spending a lot of time and money, or receive help from friends or acquaintances even when service companies are used.
[7] Meanwhile, commercial advertising is mainly provided through the use of offline mass media, including televisions, newspapers, leaflets, and billboards installed on roads or the like, and online media, such the Internet. Since television advertisements are exposed to an unspecified number of members of the general public, advertising effect thereof are increased, but high costs, such as the costs of programming broadcasts, must be paid.
[8] Further, in the case of advertisements based on billboards installed outdoors or in underground passages, advertising costs are lower than those of TV broadcasts, but there are problems in that advertising effects are limited, high costs are required compared to advertising effects, it is difficult to manufacture and install billboards, and it is also inconvenient to maintain the billboards from the standpoint of a manager.
[9] In the case of advertisements based on media, such as the Internet, costs are lower than those of advertisements based on mass media, but only a limited number of persons view advertisements, and thus it is difficult to expect advertising effects based thereon in current situations.
[10] Therefore, the development of media service, enabling modern people to hold events, in which their own personalities and tastes can be considered, for a declaration of affection, a proposal of marriage, the celebration of anniversary of couples, and the celebration of birthdays, is required. Furthermore, in the case of advertisements, the development of media service, enabling target advertisements to be provided to specific customers at low cost, is required. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[11] Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a UTV media service method and system, which can provide a new media content service that enables content, set by a user who plans to hold an event, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, or the celebration of an anniversary, to be displayed on the screen of a local system installed at a specific public place and at a specific point of in time.
[12] Another object of the present invention is to provide a UTV media service method and system, in which an advertiser can obtain optimal advertising effects while paying low costs on the basis of the area information of a local system installed at a specific place, that is, the number of persons moving by the place, at which the local system is installed, in respective time bands, and the characteristics of the moving persons.
[13] A further object of the present invention is to provide a UTV media service method and system, which allow persons who value their personalities to plan and effectively hold their own events. Technical Solution
[14] In order to accomplish the above objects, a first invention provides a UTV media service system, comprising a plurality of local systems separately installed at specific places, and configured to display content, which is scheduled to be exposed at a specific point of time, at the scheduled point of time; and an operation system server configured to provide content, scheduling of which is completed for respective local systems, to corresponding local systems.
[15] In order to accomplish the above objects, a second invention provides a UTV media service system, comprising a media service system, comprising a plurality of local systems separately installed at specific places, and configured to recognize approach of a user terminal having specific software installed therein, perform a mutual authentication process through identification, provide control authority, effective for a specific period of time during which content has been scheduled to be exposed, to the user terminal, and display the content scheduled to be exposed, for the specific period of time in response to a control command from the user terminal having the control authority, or a preset control command; and an operation system server for managing the local systems using respective local machine IDs, approving a request for a right to use the local systems by checking schedule information of the local systems when the request for the right of use is received, and for providing content, scheduling of which has been completed by approval for the right of use for respective local systems, to corresponding local systems.
[16] In order to accomplish the above objects, a third invention provides a UTV media service method, comprising the steps of an operation system server receiving a request for a right to use specific local systems and approving the request for the right of use; the operation system server registering content information to be exposed to local systems, for which the right of use has been approved; and the operation system server providing content, scheduling of which has been completed, to corresponding local systems, wherein the local systems installed at a specific place display the content, which is scheduled to be exposed at a specific point of time, at the specific point of time scheduled for the event.
[17] In order to accomplish the above objects, a fourth invention provides a UTV media service method, comprising the steps of an operation system server providing content to be exposed at a specific point of time to specific local systems, for which a right to use the local systems has been approved; the local systems, installed at specific places, recognizing approach of a user terminal, having a right to use the local systems, and performing authentication with the user terminal; assigning control authority to the user terminal, which is authenticated by the specific local systems; and if a control command is received from the user terminal having the control authority, the specific local systems, which have received the control command, displaying scheduled content for a specific period of time, for which the content is scheduled to be exposed, in response to the control command.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[64] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings. First, it should be noted that, in the assignment of reference numerals, the same reference numerals are used throughout the different drawings to designate the same or similar components as far as possible. Furthermore, in the description of the present invention, if detailed descriptions of related well- known constructions or functions are determined to make the gist of the present invention unclear, the detailed descriptions will be omitted.
[65] First, terms used in the present invention are defined below. The term 'UTV(UCC
Tiva Vision)' in the present invention means media for providing services for allowing various types of information and content, including one or more of User-Created Content (UCC), video such as advertisement images, images, text, and sound, to be displayed at a specific place and at a specific point of time, which are designated by an advertiser or a user (consumer), and is operated in conjunction with various communication networks, such as a mobile communication network, an ultra-high speed communication network, the Internet, and wired/wireless networks.
[66] Fig. 1 is a system configuration diagram showing a UTV media service system according to a first embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 2 is a functional block diagram showing a local system applied to the UTV media service system of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a functional block diagram showing an operation system server applied to the UTV media service system of Fig. 1.
[67] As shown in Fig. 1, the UTV media service system according to a first embodiment of the present invention includes a plurality of local systems 110 and an operation system server 120. The local systems 110 and the operation system server 120 are connected to each other through networks 13. Further, a user interface 11, which makes access over the Internet or various communication networks 12 provided by mobile communication service providers or communication service providers, is con nected to the operation system server 120.
[68] The user interface 11 is terminal equipment that may be one of a Personal Computer
(PC), a notebook computer, a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), and various types of wireless terminals, and that is used by an advertiser who desires to post an advertisement, or a user, that is, a consumer, who desires to hold a special event, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, and the celebration of an anniversary, so as to schedule the event. The wireless terminals include a portable phone, a mobile phone, a camera phone, a cellular phone, a Trunked Radio System (TRS) phone, a Personal Communication Service (PCS) phone, a Global System for Mobile (GSM) phone, a Wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) phone, a CDMA-2000 phone, a Mobile Broadband System (MBS) phone, a DMB phone, a video terminal, a satellite terminal, a WiBro terminal and the like, whereby the MBS phone refers to a mobile phone that will be used in a fourth generation system that is currently under discussion. Further, the user interface 11 may be implemented in the form of a navigator, an MP3 player (media player), or a game player.
[69] The local systems 110 are separately installed in specific public places, and are configured to display content, scheduled to be exposed at a specific point of time by an advertiser, or by a consumer desiring to hold an event, at a specific point of time.
[70] The content exposed to each of the local systems 110 may be an advertisement image provided by the advertiser, User-Created Content (UCC) personally generated by the consumer, user-modified content, etc., and, in addition to this content, music videos, animation, movies, dramas, show programs, news, etc. may be used as content.
[71] Further, user voice, user text, and advertiser text may be selectively added to and included in various types of content. [72] As shown in Fig. 2, each of the local systems 110 includes a communication interface unit 111, a control unit 112, a storage unit 113, a media output device unit 114 and a screen display unit 115. The communication interface unit 111 performs interface matching and data communication with the operation system server, which makes an access over the network 13.
[73] Further, the control unit 112 separates and extracts content and execution information by parsing the content information received from the communication interface unit 111, and controls and manages the extracted execution information. The storage unit
113 stores the separated and extracted content.
[74] The media output device unit 114 outputs the image and sound of specific content in response to a media output control signal from the control unit 112, and the screen display unit 115 displays the image of the specific content provided by the media output device unit 114.
[75] Here, the screen display unit 115 may be formed of one of various types of displays, such as a screen, a transparent or translucent screen, a PDP, an LCD, an LED, a CRT, an organic EL, a TFT-LCD and a next-generation paper display (electronic paper). When the screen display unit 115 is formed of a screen, the media output device unit
114 may have the construction of a beam projector. That is, it should be appreciated that the screen display unit 115 includes both a method of acquiring and reflecting image information through projection and a method of acquiring and displaying the image information of digital signals.
[76] The operation system server 120 implements time synchronization in conjunction with the plurality of local systems 110, which makes an access over the network 13, based on the global standard time of a GPS, and provides content, the scheduling of which has been completed for respective local systems 110, to corresponding local systems 110.
[77] Here, time synchronization is required to control the operational time settings of the local systems 110 that are distributed in various areas. Time synchronization may be implemented using a method in which the operation system server 120 periodically sends information about the global standard time of a GPS to the local systems 110, or a method in which GPS modules are installed in all local systems 110 to implement time synchronization based on the global standard time.
[78] In this case, various methods, such as a method of operating a GPS in the operation system server 120 and sending time information to the plurality of local systems 110 over the network 13, and a method of sending information about the standard time of the operation system server 120 to the plurality of local systems 110, may be applied to time synchronization using the operation system server 120.
[79] The operation system server 120 manages the supply, programming and operation of programs required to operate UTV media, content, and advertisements.
[80] As shown in Fig. 3, the operation system server 120 includes one or more of a communication interface unit 121, a found information provision unit 122, an event scheduling management unit 123, a database 124, a control unit 125, a billing processing unit 126, a scheduling management unit 127, and an installation place characteristic information management unit 128.
[81] The communication interface unit 121 performs interface matching and data communication with the plurality of local systems 110, which makes an access over the network 13. The found information provision unit 122 searches scheduling information of the local systems 110 and a list of stored content in response to a user scheduling request of an advertiser or a consumer, which makes an access through the user interface 11, and provides information about a list of available content that can be scheduled by the user for respective categories.
[82] Further, the event scheduling management unit 123 manages event scheduling information about events, the scheduling of which has been completed by the user through the found information provision unit 122. The database 124 stores content information and information about the operation schedules of the local systems. The control unit 125 manages the plurality of local systems 110 using local machine IDs, and entirely controls and manages respective internal component modules of the operation system server. Here, a local machine ID may be attached to a portion of the front of the screen display unit 115 of each local system 110 through labeling.
[83] Further, the billing processing unit 126 performs billing based on the use of the local systems 110, and may include an advertiser billing processing unit 126-1 for billing an advertiser for an advertisement image based on the exposure of the advertisement image, and a user billing processing unit 126-2 for billing a user, who holds an event for content exposure, for the content. Here, the user billing processing unit 126-2 performs payment by subtracting from user fees money corresponding to incentives, set by the advertiser, when the consumer, requesting an event, exposes combined content by combining the content with the advertisement image set by the advertiser.
[84] Further, the billing processing unit 126 provides a payment service so that payment is processed through at least one of or a combination of OK cash-bag points, various mileage points, various card points, card payments, electronic money, electronic gift certificates, gift certificates and account transfers when the billing of the user is processed.
[85] The scheduling management unit 127 manages monthly, daily, and hourly schedule status information for the plurality of local systems 110. The installation place characteristic information management unit 128 manages the surrounding situation information of the places at which the local systems 110 are installed, that is, the number of persons moving by each installation place, the ages and tastes of the moving persons, shop information, commercial area information, etc.
[86] The present invention can be applied to and implemented in an IPTV, a cable TV, and an HDTV, in addition to the above components, and can obtain the same effect through new components.
[87] The above-described first invention provides advantages in that, since a scheduled advertisement image and content for an event, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, and an anniversary event, can be automatically displayed on the local systems 110 installed at specific public places at the specific point of time for which the exposure of content is scheduled, the effect of the event and based on the expression of the personalities of the consumer can be increased, and, since the consumer is provided with incentives set by an advertiser when an advertisement image is combined with content, costs required to hold events can be reduced.
[88] Further, from the standpoint of the advertiser, the present invention provides advantages in that target advertising is performed at a specific point of time in consideration of the information about the installation places of the local systems 110, that is, the number of persons moving by each place in respective time bands, the ages of the moving persons, and the tastes and characteristics of the persons, thus expecting the maximal advertising effects at low cost, and in that the advertisement of the advertiser's company is included and provided in a special event for consumers, so that an advertisement image is further emphasized while the stirring of emotions caused by the event is increased, thus further increasing advertising effects.
[89] Fig. 4 is a system configuration diagram showing a UTV media service system according to a second embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 5 is a functional block diagram applied to the UTV media service system of Fig. 4, and Fig. 6 is a functional block diagram showing an operation system server that is applied to the UTV media service system of Fig. 4.
[90] As shown in Fig. 4, the UTV media service system according to the second embodiment of the present invention includes a plurality of local systems 210, an operation system server 220, and a user terminal 230. The local systems 210 and the operation system server 220 are connected to each other over networks 13. A user interface 11, which makes an access over the Internet or various communication networks 12 provided by mobile communication service providers or communication service providers, is connected to the operation system server 220.
[91] Here, the user interface 11 is terminal equipment that may be one of a PC, a notebook computer, a PDA, and various types of wireless terminals, and that is used by an advertiser, who desires to post an advertisement, or a consumer, who desires to hold an event, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, the celebration of admissions and graduation, and an anniversary event, so as to schedule such an event at the operation system server 220. The wireless terminals include a portable phone, a mobile phone, a camera phone, a cellular phone, a TRS phone, a PCS phone, a GSM phone, a W-CDMA phone, a CDMA-2000 phone, an MBS phone, a DMB phone, a video terminal, a satellite terminal, a WiBro terminal and the like, wherein the MBS phone refers to a mobile phone that will be used in a fourth generation system that is currently under discussion. Further, the user interface 11 may be implemented in the form of a navigator, an MP3 player (media player), or a game player.
[92] The local systems 210 are separately installed in specific public places and are configured to recognize the approach of the user terminal 230 having specific software installed therein, perform an authentication process based on identification, and provide control authority, effective for a specific period of time during which content has been scheduled, to the user terminal 230. The content scheduled to be exposed is displayed for the specific period of time in response to either a control command output from the user terminal 230, which is assigned the control authority, or a preset control command.
[93] Here, mutual recognition between the user terminal 230 and the plurality of local systems 210 can be performed through various methods using the GPS location information of the user terminal 230, the location information of the base station in an area within which the user terminal 230 is located, a barcode, labeling, RFID, IrDA, Bluetooth, individual IDs, etc., which will be described in detail below.
[94] First, in the case where location information is used, the methods may be classified into a method of detecting a location using GPS information of the user terminal 230 and a method of detecting a location using the information about a base station in an area within which the user terminal 230 is located. When GPS information is used, the user terminal and the local system are connected through mutual authentication using the GPS location information of the user terminal 230 and the location of the local system 210, which is previously input. When the base station information is used, the user terminal and the local system are connected through mutual authentication using the location of the base station in the area within which the user terminal 230 is located, and the location of the local system 210, which has been previously input.
[95] At this time, the mutual authentication process is preferably performed so that, when a consumer schedules an event, the consumer communicates with a relevant local system 210 using an authentication signal, obtained by combining one or more of a local machine ID, a content ID, and a member ID, together with a basic authentication number assigned by the operation system server 220, thus performing mutual authentication. [96] As shown in Fig. 1 l(a), the case using a barcode is realized so that a unique barcode for identification is assigned to each local system 210, the consumer checks the unique barcode using a barcode reader mounted on the user terminal 230, and thus a relevant local system 210 is identified.
[97] Further, the local machine ID managed by the operation system server 220 may be attached to a portion of a screen display unit 217, that is, the screen, through labeling (any one or a combination of a number, a character and a symbol), and may be used.
[98] Further, mutual authentication with the recognized local system 210 is performed through communication on the basis of an authentication number assigned by the operation system server 220. Further, mutual authentication may also be performed using a combined authentication signal obtained by combining one or more of a local machine ID, a content ID, and a member ID.
[99] The above-described mutual authentication process performed between the local system 210 and the user terminal 230 is also applied to the system, which will be described later, and, a detailed description thereof is omitted here.
[100] As shown in Fig. 1 l(b), recognition may be performed in such a way that a Radio
Frequency Identification (RFID) is attached to the screen display unit 217 of each local system 210 to allow the user terminal 230 to recognize the RFID, in such a way that an IrDA module or a Bluetooth module is installed in each local system 210 to allow the user terminal 230 to recognize the module through communication, and in such a way that a unique individual ID is assigned to each local system 210 to allow the user terminal 230 to recognize the ID through the personal authentication of the user terminal 230.
[101] Further, in the recognition process, when specific software is run in the user terminal 230 and an RF signal is transmitted from the local system 210 in the case where recognition is performed through the input of the user terminal 230, the user terminal 230 having the software installed therein recognizes the RF signal, and notifies the operation system server 220 of the results of the recognition. A communication path used at this time may be implemented so that the RF signal can be immediately transmitted from the local system 210 to the operation system server 220, or can be transmitted to the operation system server 220 through the wired/wireless communication network 12 provided by a communication network service provider.
[102] Further, content exposed to the local system 210 may be the advertisement image content provided by an advertiser, User-Created Content (UCC), user- modified content, etc. When a control command required to request the addition of voice or text is input in real time from the user terminal 230 having the right of control at the site, a corresponding local system 210 additionally outputs input voice or text (in the form of a still character or continuously moving character) in response to the request control command. That is, the addition of voice or text is performed using a method in which the consumer combines the his or her voice or text with the exposed image and outputs the combined results through remote control of the local system 210 at the site, thus maximizing the effect of the event.
[103] Further, each of the local systems 210 may previously download and store content to be exposed at the specific point of time using its own storage unit 213, and play the stored content at the scheduled point of time. As another method, it is also possible to expose scheduled content using a streaming method of downloading and playing content stored in the operation system server 220 in real time.
[104] Further, time synchronization is preferably performed so that the operation system server 220 periodically sends the global standard time of a GPS to the plurality of local systems 210 to implement synchronization. As another example thereof, a GPS module 218 may be installed in each of the plurality of local systems 210 to implement synchronization on the basis of the global standard time.
[105] Here, various methods, such as a method of operating a GPS in the operation system server 220 and sending time information to the plurality of Olocal systems 210 over the network 13, and a method of sending information about the standard time of the operation system server 220 to the plurality of local systems 210, may be applied to synchronization of time using the operation system server 220.
[106] The operation system server 220 performs time synchronization in conjunction with the plurality of local systems 210, which makes an access over the network 13, on the basis of the global standard time of the GPS, and the local systems 210 are preferably managed using their own local machine IDs.
[107] When a request for the right to use the local systems 210 is received from an advertiser or a consumer through the user interface 11, the operation system server 220 checks schedule information, such as the time, for use in figuring out in relation to whether corresponding local systems 210 are available, approves the right, and provides content, the scheduling of which is completed through the approval for the right of use for respective local systems 210, to corresponding local systems 210.
[108] Further, when event scheduling information, such as information about local systems 210 installed at a specific place or the time of use of the local systems, is received from an advertiser or a consumer in the case where a request for the right to use the local systems 210 is received, the operation system server 220 provides the characteristics of the event scheduling information, for example, the advertisement image of the advertiser, the advertisement image content of the advertiser corresponding to various events, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, and an anniversary event, system content, and expert-recommended content, and subtracts from the user fees money corresponding to incentives, set by the advertiser, if the ad- vertisement image content of the advertiser, among various types of proposed content, is selected.
[109] Further, when the number of requests for the right of use is plural, the operation system server 220 may use operation control methods, including a control method ('all screen control') in which all local systems 210, for which the request for the right of use has been approved, simultaneously display the same content in response to an event display control signal, a control method ('group screen control') in which all local systems 210, for which the request for the right of use has been approved, are divided into specific groups, and different types of content are displayed for respective groups, and a control method ('individual screen control') in which all local systems 210, for which the request for the right of use has been approved, are individually separated, and different types of content are displayed on all local systems 210. These control methods are set through the user terminal 230 at the time of requesting the scheduling of an event.
[110] The control methods are described in detail below. First, 'all screen control' is a method of simultaneously displaying the same content on the screen display units 217 of the scheduled local systems 210, and, here, operation control is performed so that the same content is exposed in a specific time band using time synchronization.
[I l l] Further, 'group screen control' is a method of performing control so that scheduled local systems 210 are divided into respective groups, and different types of content are exposed through the screen display units 217 for respective groups, and 'individual screen control' is a method of performing control so that scheduled local systems 210 are individually separated, and different types of content are exposed through all screen display units 217.
[112] Example: under the condition of 12:00 ~ 12:10 everyday, 'all screen control' is applied.
[113] Under the condition of 12: 10 ~ 12:30, 'individual or group screen control' is applied.
[114] At this time, in order to control the scheduled local systems 210 in the 'group screen control' method, it is preferable to consider the characteristics of a specific place, at which content is to be exposed, in advance, and to automatically perform grouping according to a search condition.
[115] Example: places, place characteristics, commercial areas, the type of businesses, the type of commodity, ages, the number of persons moving by the place in respective time bands, the characteristics of the moving persons, etc. may be considered.
[116] That is, groups can be divided depending on the commercial areas of respective regions, the type of content, and the type of businesses. The types of content may be classified into movie trailers, music video, advertisements (according to the type), a declaration of affection, UCC, events, etc., and the types of businesses may be classified into cafes, family restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, cosmetics stores, etc.
[117] The advertiser can select a specific region, to which content is desired to be exposed, as a target region on the basis of the characteristics of the information, and can group and use the scheduled local systems 210 to expose an advertisement image. This is also equally applied to a consumer who desires to hold a personal event, such as a declaration of affection, and the consumer can select a place suitable for the desired event.
[118] When the number of requests for the right of use is plural, the operation system server 220 may use a control method ('street moving control') in which all local systems 210, for which the request for the right of use has been approved, display content while sequentially changing the content with the movement of the user terminal 230, in response to an event display control signal, as shown in Fig. 13. At this time, in the case of content having the same image, only a part of the content corresponding to the time allocated to a specific local system 210 is played, and subsequent successive images are played by the subsequent local systems 210. In contrast, in the case of content having different images, respective local systems 210 play content corresponding to selected images for respective periods of time allocated to the local systems. Further, the 'street moving control' method can be implemented by recognizing the user terminal 230 or a person.
[119] Fig. 13 is a reference diagram showing a service process in which exposed screens are changed with the movement of a consumer. The content exposed to each screen display unit 21 is exposed while being changed with the movement of a specific person carrying the user terminal 230.
[120] This is a method of exposing content information related to a specific person, who has been previously registered, on screens successively installed along the street when the specific person moves along the street, and is configured such that the consumer sets a movement path of the specific person in advance, and the successive recognition between the local systems 210 and the user terminal 230 is performed.
[121] When a request for the right to use the local systems 210 is received, the operation system server 220 assigns priority to a first-come, first-served scheduling method, but, when a plurality of requests for the right to use the local systems 210, located at the same place, for the same time band is received, competitive bidding, such as in an auction, is used. When there is no request for the right to use the local systems 210, a standby method of allowing a request for the right of use to be made and used in real time at the site may be used.
[122] This is a processing method predicted to be used when an advertisement or an event is applied for, and performed when many persons simultaneously apply for events. That is, various methods, such as a method using schedules, a method of receiving requests for desired places and times in advance through scheduling based on the order of reception and selecting a user, a method of previously selecting a user through competitive bidding, such as in an auction, for a specific place and a specific time band, and a composite method corresponding to scheduling based on the order of reception + competitive bidding in an auction, can be used.
[123] The user terminal 230 is terminal equipment having specific software installed therein to control the screen output of the local systems 210, and is configured to control the local systems 210 through the control page displayed on the screen of the terminal when a remote control function is assigned to the user terminal. Various different terminals having portability, such as a mobile phone, a portable phone, a PDA, a portable terminal, and a notebook computer, can be used as the user terminal.
[124] In addition to the above terminals, a wireless terminal, a camera phone, a cellular phone, a TRS phone, a PCS phone, a GSM phone, a W-CDMA phone, a CDMA-2000 phone, an MBS phone, a DMB phone, a video terminal, a satellite terminal, a WiBro terminal, a computer such as a communication-enabled portable PC, a communication- enabled navigation terminal, etc., can be used, wherein the MBS phone refers to a mobile phone that will be used in the fourth generation system that is currently under discussion.
[125] Such a user terminal 230 can perform short-range wireless communication with the local systems 210, and can also perform communication with the operation system server 220 over the network provided by a communication service provider (KT WiBro), or communication networks provided by mobile communication network service providers (SKT, KTF, or LGT).
[126] As shown in Fig. 5, each of the local systems according to a second embodiment of the present invention system includes one or more of a communication interface unit 211, a control unit 212, a storage unit 213, a user terminal recognition processing unit 214, a wireless communication unit 215, a media output device unit 216, a screen display unit 217, a GPS module 218, a camera module 219, and a scheduling management unit 210-1.
[127] The communication interface unit 211 performs interface matching and data communication with the operation system server 220. The control unit 212 separates and extracts content and execution information by parsing received content information, and controls and manages extracted execution information, and the storage unit 213 stores the separated and extracted content.
[128] Further, the user terminal recognition processing unit 214 recognizes the approach of the user terminal 230 and performs mutual authentication, and may use a barcode, labeling, RFID, IrDA, a wireless LAN, short-range wireless communication, Bluetooth, etc., as shown in Fig. 11. [129] The wireless communication unit 215 performs short-range wireless communication with the user terminal 230. The media output device unit 216 outputs the image and sound of specific content at the scheduled point of time in response to a media output control signal output from the control unit 212. The screen display unit 217 displays the image of the specific content output from the media output device unit 216.
[130] Here, the screen display unit 217 may be formed of one of various types of displays, such as a screen, a transparent or translucent screen, a PDP, an LCD, an LED, a CRT, an organic EL, a TFT-LCD and a next-generation paper display (electronic paper). When the screen display unit 217 is formed of a screen, the media output device unit 216 may have the construction of a beam projector. That is, it should be appreciated that the screen display unit 217 includes both a method of acquiring and reflecting image information through projection and a method of acquiring and displaying the image information of digital signals.
[131] In particular, when the screen display unit 217 is formed of a screen made of transparent glass, the screen display unit 217 may be configured such that, when the screen of the glass is automatically turned on depending on the motion of video in the form of screen control, and such that, when a person passes in front of the screen, the screen of glass is automatically turned on, and thus the set video can be played. That is, in a normal state, the screen is maintained in a transparent state, like typical glass. When a person passes the screen, the motion of the person is sensed using a motion sensor, and then the screen of the glass is turned on in the form of a screen on which video is played.
[132] Further, the GPS module 218 receives the global standard time of a GPS from the GPS satellite 14, and provides the global standard time to the control unit 212. The control unit 212 controls the time synchronization of the system based on the global standard time of the GPS. The camera module 219 captures an image displayed on the screen display unit 217, and stores the captured image in the storage unit 213. The scheduling management unit 210-1 stores and manages schedule status information, including the schedules of images to be exposed by the schedule management unit 210-1.
[133] In this case, the camera module 219 provides content which is to be exposed to the screen and has been requested by the advertiser or the consumer, thus anticipating a consumer's claim. When the camera module 219 is requested to check whether requested content (advertisement, UCC, etc.) has been actually exposed at the consumer's desired time, the content which had been exposed to the screen is presented as proof.
[134] A method of implementing the camera module is configured such that a camera is installed in front of the screen to record exposed content as video and store the recorded content in the storage unit 213 of the local system 210, and, thereafter, the operation system server 200 provides the recorded content through video search at the request of the consumer while storing and managing the recorded content in the DB 224. By way of this method, the consumer can check the exposed content at his or her desired time even after the given event has been terminated.
[135] Further, it is preferable to manage the recorded and stored video in the format of individual files for conveniences of the search, and to separately manage the files by assigning times and indices thereto.
[136] As shown in Fig. 6, the operation system server 220 according to the second embodiment of the present invention includes one or more of a communication interface unit 221, a found information provision unit 222, an event scheduling management unit 223, a DB 224, a control unit 225, a billing processing unit 226, a scheduling management unit 227, and an installation place characteristic information management unit 228.
[137] The communication interface unit 221 performs interface matching and data communication with the plurality of local systems 210, which makes an access over the network 13. The found information provision unit 222 searches scheduling information of the local systems 210 and a list of stored content in response to a user scheduling request of an advertiser or a consumer, which makes an access through the user interface 11, and provides information about a list of available content that can be scheduled by the user for respective categories.
[138] The event scheduling management unit 223 manages event scheduling information about events, the scheduling of which has been completed by the user through the found information provision unit 222. The DB 224 stores both the content information and the operation schedule information of the local systems 210.
[139] Here, the DB 224 further stores information about areas in which respective local systems 210 are installed, and such area information includes the characteristics of places, commercial areas, the type of businesses, the number of persons moving by the places in respective time bands, the ages of the moving persons, etc.
[140] The control unit 225 manages the plurality of local systems 210 through local machine IDs, and entirely controls and manages respective internal component modules of the operation system server. Here, a local machine ID can be attached on a portion of the front of the screen display unit 217 of each of the local systems 210, in the form of a label, an IC card, a semiconductor chip, or an RFID.
[141] The billing processing unit 226 performs billing based on the use of the local systems 210, and includes an advertiser billing processing unit 226-1 for billing an advertiser for an advertisement image based on the exposure of the advertisement image, and a user billing processing unit 226-2 for billing a user, who holds an event for content exposure, for the content. The user billing processing unit 226-2 performs payment by subtracting from user fees money corresponding to incentives, set by the advertiser, when an event user exposes combined content by combining the content with the advertisement image set by the advertiser.
[142] Here, the billing processing of the user is performed such that payment is processed through at least one of or a combination of OK cash-bag points, various mileage points, various card points, card payments, electronic money, electronic gift certificates, gift certificates and account transfers.
[143] The scheduling management unit 227 manages monthly, daily and hourly schedule status information for the plurality of local systems 210. The installation place characteristic information management unit 228 manages information about the surrounding situation information of the places at which the plurality of local systems 210 is installed, that is, the number of persons moving by the installation places, the ages and tastes of the moving persons, local shop information, commercial areas, etc.
[144] The present invention can also be applied to and implemented in an IPTV, a cable TV, and an HDTV, in addition to the above construction, and can obtain the same advantages through such a new construction.
[145] The second invention is configured such that the local systems 210 installed at specific public places recognize the user terminal 230, perform a mutual authentication process, and allow a scheduled advertisement image, or various types of user-related content or various types of content for events, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, or an anniversary event, to be exposed to the local systems 210 through the remote control of the user terminal 230 which has been assigned control authority, and thus the consumer can obtain advantages of increasing the effect of the event based on the expression of his or her personality and reducing costs by combining the content with an advertisement image set by an advertiser.
[146] In particular, the consumer can increase the stirring of emotions caused by the event, planned by the consumer, by adding voice or text in real time at the site.
[147] Meanwhile, the advertiser can expect the maximal advertising effects at low cost, and can emphasize an advertisement image and further increase advertising effects while providing the stirring of emotions caused by the event held by the consumer.
[148] Fig. 7 is a flowchart showing a UTV media service method according to a third embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 8 is a flowchart showing the detailed steps of the use right approval step in the UTV media service method of Fig. 7.
[149] The UTV media service method according to the third embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the system configuration of the first embodiment of the present invention.
[150] First, the operation system server 120 receives a request for the right to use specific local systems 110 and approves the request for the right at step Sl 10.
[151] Here, at the use right approval step Sl 10, event scheduling request information is received at step Sl 11, as shown in Fig. 8.
[152] A person requesting the scheduling of an event may be either an advertiser or a user (a consumer). The advertiser or the user accesses the operation system server 120 through the user interface 11 over the Internet/communication network 12. In this case, scheduling is performed on the premise that the user is a member, but a person who is not a member can also request the scheduling of an event.
[153] Next, schedule information of the local systems 110 and the list of stored content, corresponding to the event scheduling request information received from the user or the advertiser, are provided at Sl 12.
[154] In the case of the schedule information, information about periods of time used by corresponding local systems 110 is basically provided, and various types of information, such as an installation place, a screen size, area characteristics, the type of businesses, the number of persons moving by the place in respective time bands, and the ages of the moving persons, are selectively provided to the advertiser or the user.
[155] The advertiser or the user selects one or more from among the possible local systems 110 depending on the purpose of an advertisement which is to be exposed.
[156] At this time, the advertiser selects local systems 110 on the basis of information about moving persons, and the consumer selects local systems on the basis of information about area characteristics. In particular, when the consumer requests the scheduling of an event corresponding to the case of a declaration of affection, celebration or an anniversary event, the operation system server 120 searches the database 124 for content suitable for the characteristics of the consumer's event, and presents the found content to the consumer.
[157] For example, a movie, an advertisement, music video, animation, song, etc., related to the characteristics of the event, are provided to the consumer, and the user can select the presented content or can register and set his or her UCC as content. In this case, the user can additionally set an advertisement image provided by the advertiser in the content desired to be exposed.
[158] Next, it is determined whether the right to use the specific local systems 110 for which the event is scheduled by the advertiser or the user is approvable at step Sl 13.
[159] If it is determined at step S 113 that the right of use is not approvable (in the case of 'No'), notification of disapproval is provided at step Sl 14, and the rescheduling of an event, such as by changing a time band, or by selecting other available local systems 110 which can be used, is requested at step Sl 15.
[ 160] If it is determined at step S 113 that the right of use is approvable (in the case of
'Yes'), notification of approval allowing the local systems 110, located at the specific places, to be used to expose the preset content for a specific period of time is provided at step Sl 16.
[161] Here, the approval for the right of use is implemented through one of first-come, first-served scheduling, competitive bidding, and a real-time request for the right of use at the site.
[162] This is a processing method that can be used when a plurality of persons desires to simultaneously use specific local systems 110, and can be implemented using various methods.
[163] For example, a method using schedules, a method of selecting a user through scheduling based on the order of reception for desired places and times, a method of selecting a user through competitive bidding, such as in an auction, and a composite method corresponding to scheduling based on the order of reception + competitive bidding in an auction, can be used.
[164] Next, the operation system server 120 registers content information to be exposed to the local systems 110, for which the right of use has been approved, at step S 120, and content, the scheduling of which has been completed, is provided to corresponding local systems 110 at step S 130.
[165] Thereafter, the local systems 110, installed at specific places, display content, which has been scheduled to be exposed at a specific point of time, at the time scheduled for the event at step S 140.
[166] Fig. 12 is a reference diagram showing examples of the implementation of UTV media service operation according to the present invention.
[167] First, Fig. 12(a) is a view showing an example in which a video message suitable for the purpose of an event, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, or the celebration of an anniversary, is exposed to a single local system 110, Fig. 12(b) is a view showing an example in which content for the event set by a user, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, or the celebration of an anniversary, is exposed to one or more local systems 110 at different times, and Fig. 12(c) is a view showing an example in which an advertisement image is inserted into an image desired to be exposed by the user, who holds an event, such as a declaration of affection, the celebration of a birthday, or the celebration of an anniversary.
[168] In Fig. 12(c), the consumer reduces costs of the event by getting reductions which correspond to incentives set by the advertiser in reward for the exposure of the advertisement image.
[169] The operation system server 120 performs billing based on the use of the local systems 110 at step S 150.
[170] In this case, billing processing can be performed immediately after the right of use has been approved. As another method, it is possible to set billing at the time of approving the right of use and to process final billing when the user does not cancel the event, or after the successful exposure of content at the scheduled time has been confirmed.
[171] Further, billing processing can be classified into advertiser billing processing of billing an advertiser for an advertisement image based on the exposure of the advertisement image, and user billing processing of billing a user, who holds an event for content exposure, for the content. The payment of fees may be performed through the selection of various methods based on OK cash-bag points, various mileage points, various card points, card payments, electronic gift certificates, gift certificates, prepaid cards, electronic money, and account transfers.
[172] The above-described third invention provides advantages in that content set by an advertiser or a user is automatically displayed at a specific point of time in the local systems 110 installed at specific public places, thus increasing the effect of the event based on the expression of the consumer's personality, reducing costs required for the event by the user, and increasing the advertising effects for the advertiser.
[173] Fig. 9 is a flowchart showing a UTV media service method according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 10 is a flowchart showing the detailed steps of the use right approval step in the UTV media service method of Fig. 9.
[174] The UTV media service method according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the system configuration of the second embodiment of the present invention.
[175] First, the operation system server 220 provides content to be exposed at a specific point of time to specific local systems 210, for which the right of use has been approved, at step S210.
[176] Next, the local systems 210 installed at the specific location recognize the approach of the user terminal 230 having the right of use, and perform mutual authentication at step S220, and assign control authority to the authenticated user terminal 230 at step S230.
[177] When a control command is input from the user terminal 230 having control authority at step S240, the specific local systems 210 having received the control command display the set content at a specific point of time, at which content is scheduled to be exposed, in response to the control command at step S250.
[178] At the display step S250, when the control command from the user terminal 230 is an input for commanding voice or text to be added in real time at the site at step S253, the local system 210 having received the control command additionally outputs the voice or text input at the site.
[179] Further, at the display step S250, when the control command is input from the user terminal 230 having control authority, set content is exposed in response to the control command input at the site, and the user's voice or text, set by the user at the site, is additionally exposed. The user terminal 230 provides a control screen to the user.
[180] Meanwhile, when no control command is input from the user terminal 230, set content is exposed in response to a command set by the user at the time of scheduling the event.
[181] Further, the display step S250 is performed to operate the local systems 210 using at least one of 'all screen control', 'group screen control', 'individual screen control', and 'street moving control'.
[182] Meanwhile, the operation system server 220 performs billing based on the use of local systems 210 at step S260. The billing processing includes advertiser billing processing of billing an advertiser for an advertisement image based on the exposure of the advertisement image, and user billing processing of billing a user, who holds an event for content exposure, for such content.
[183] In particular, user billing processing is preferably performed to process payment by subtracting from the user fees money corresponding to incentives, set by the advertiser, when the event user exposes combined content by combining the content with the advertisement image set by the advertiser.
[184] In this case, billing processing can be performed immediately after the right of use has been approved. As another method, it is possible to set billing at the time of approving the right of use and to process final billing when the user does not cancel the event, or after the successful exposure of content at the scheduled time has been confirmed.
[185] Further, billing processing can be classified into advertiser billing processing of billing an advertiser for an advertisement image based on the exposure of the advertisement image, and user billing processing of billing a user, who holds an event for content exposure, for the content. The payment of fees may be performed through the selection of various methods based on OK cash-bag points, various mileage points, various card points, card payments, electronic gift certificates, gift certificates, prepaid cards, electronic money, and account transfers.
[186] The service method may further include the step S270 of the operation system server 220 receiving a request for the right to use specific local systems 210 and approving the request for the right, and the step S280 of registering content information to be exposed to the local systems 210, for which the right of use has been approved.
[187] Here, as shown in Fig. 10, at the use right approval step S270, event scheduling request information is received at step S211. A person who requests the scheduling of an event is either an advertiser or a user (a consumer). The advertiser or the user accesses the operation system server 220 through the user interface 11 over the Internet/communication network 12. [188] The operation system server 220 provides both the schedule information of local systems 210 and a list of stored content, which correspond to the event scheduling request information at step S212.
[189] The schedule information is provided in such a way that various types of information, such as times used by corresponding local systems 210, the place of installation of the local systems, a screen size, area characteristics, the types of businesses, the number of persons moving by the place in respective time bands, and the ages of the moving persons, are selectively and separately provided to the advertiser or the user. The advertiser or the user selects one or more from among the local systems 110 depending on the purpose of an advertisement desired to be exposed, and utilizes the selected local systems 110 for an event and an advertisement.
[190] Next, the operation system server 220 determines whether the right to use specific local systems 210, for which the event is scheduled, can be approved, at step S213. If it is determined at step S213 that the right of use is not approvable (in the case of 'No'), notification of disapproval is provided at step S214, and the rescheduling of an event is requested at step S215.
[191] If it is determined at step S213 that the right of use is approvable (in the case of 'Yes'), the notification of approval allowing the local systems 110, located at the specific places, to be used for a specific period of time is provided at step S216.
