Description

IMPLANTABLE DEVICE
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to the use of an implantable device comprises of a combination of multiple apparatus and system for chemical(s) detection.
Background of the Invention and Prior Art
Drug addiction is one of the major problems in many countries around the world including Malaysia. To overcome this problem, our government has invested millions of ringgit every year by setting up and maintaining the "Pusat Serenti", rehabilitation center and other anti-drug programs. Besides the involvement of government agencies, the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have also tried several methods including campaign, counseling, advertisement and other activities to create awareness to the public. However, the results are disappointing because it is difficult to rehabilitate and monitor the drug addicts at all time.
Most of the drug addicts are aware of the disadvantages, causes and effects of consuming drugs. However, once an individual is addicted to drugs, it is tremendously difficult to overcome the addiction which requires lots of strength both mentally and physically. In addition, moral support from family, friends and society will also help drug addicts to overcome the problem in order for he/she to recover from addition.
In order to contain or decrease the number of drug addicts, an implantable device comprising of a combination of multiple apparatus and system for chemical(s) detection, for example, an anti drug device is designed to be implanted inside the drug addict's and patient's body, which has an embedded chemical sensor system for detecting the presence of chemicals such as drugs. The invention comprises of a micro stun gun wherein the said stun gun will be activated and electric shocks will be generated upon detection of certain chemicals. The shock is designed not to threaten the wearer's life. The purpose of this device is to give warning or punishment to the wearer and/or patient and to deter the wearer from taking any more drugs. United States granted patent No. US 4,868,545 discloses an invention that relates to an apparatus for detecting the presence of alcohol in expired breath in the atmosphere, comprising a gas sampler, a detector for the presence of alcohol in a gas sample, an output indicator or recorder coupled to the detector to provide an output signal when alcohol is detected, and an automatic controller for actuating the sampler and detector in response to a signal from a sensor arranged to be responsive to the presence of a subject to be tested.
United States granted patent No. US 7,033,322 B2 discloses a sensor for implantation within a blood vessel to monitor glucose levels. A signal indicative of glucose level is transmitted to an external receiver. The signal may also be used to drive an internal or externally worn insulin pump.
United States patent application No. US 2007/0065363 Al discloses generally a drug management system and methods for assessing a patient's hemodynamic response to a drug therapy, more particularly, to quantifying a patient's hemodynamic response to a drug therapy using sensor data acquired via medical device, such as an implantable medical device. The patient's hemodynamic response to the drug therapy is quantified, such as by quantifying a patient's sensitivity or refractoriness to the drug therapy. The quantified data may be used to optimize a patient's drug therapy, among other uses.

Detailed Description of the Invention
The present invention relates to an implantable device, i.e. an anti drug device which can be implanted inside the wearer's body. The implantable device comprises of a micro stun gun (1), rechargeable battery and rechargeable power supply (2), battery charger and power supply charger (3), memory and storage system (4), data processor (5), health sensor system (6), chemical sensor system (7) and/or antenna and communication system (8). The implantable device can be implanted in the blood vessel (9), tissue, organ and body. The embedded chemical sensor system (7) can be used to detect the presence of chemicals such as drugs in the blood stream. The data processor (5) subsequently will process the information detected by the chemical sensor system (7) and the wearer's health condition detected by the health sensor system (6) simultaneously. The data processor (5) will make appropriate judgement in the activation or deactivation of micro stun gun (1) wherein the result or information as detected by both the sensor systems will be processed and analyzed before the activation or deactivation of micro stun gun (1). For example, if the wearer is unhealthy, the health sensor system is able to detect such a condition and automatically terminate the activation of micro stun gun (1) in order to avoid severe injury to the wearer. If the wearer is healthy, the micro stun gun (1) will be activated and the device will generate a predetermined amount of electric shocks when it senses certain amount of drugs in the body. The shock is designed not to threaten the wearer's life. The purpose of this device is to give warning or punishment to the wearer and to deter the wearer from taking or injecting more drugs. If the first electric shocks fail to stop the wearer from taking or injecting more drugs, the device will proceed to generate more and more intense electric shocks to the wearer in order to stop or to deter the wearer from consuming more drugs. The system will only terminate generating the electric shocks when the level of the drugs returned to an acceptable level or when the health sensor system detects that the wearer's health condition is unable to safely withstand the electric shocks. The wearer's drugs activity or record is recorded in the memory and storage system (4) wherein respective authority may collect the data to study or analyze and make necessary improvement on the system. The anti drug device is able to detect and contact other anti drug devices within a certain radius, for example 20 meter square via antenna and communication system (8). So if a group of drug addicts are located within this radius and one of them is taking drugs, electric shocks will be generated to all within that group. This will discourage the members in that group to stay away from a member or members who have access to drugs. The implantable device is a platform wherein variation in the use of sensor or sensors may alter and affect the objectives and functions of the device.
The micro stun gun (1) is designed to deliver electric shocks which may caused muscle cramp and painful sensations in the body. The micro stun gun (1) may be controlled using an electronic device and will perform as programmed.
The rechargeable battery and rechargeable power supply (2) is designed to store electric power and to supply electric power to the apparatus or systems.
The battery charger and power supply charger (3) is designed to generate electricity from kinetic energy, mechanical energy from environmental sources such as ultrasonic waves, mechanical vibrations or blood flow, blood cycle to spin a micro turbine to charge the battery. Electricity can also be generated from vibrations such as from heart beat and nerve pulse, frequency such as radio frequency, and other suitable techniques. The memory and storage system (4) is designed to store information for operation purposes, to prepare reports, to accept new orders and instructions, for programming and upgrading of system, for wearer identification and etc.
The data processor (5) is designed to process data detected by the sensor systems, for example drug sensor, alcohol sensor, heart scanner, insulin/glucagon sensor, thermometer and blood pressure sensor. The data processor (5) is able to differentiate the type, quantity and quality of the chemicals, for example, the types of drugs and alcohol as well as the quantities consumed. In addition, a security system may be incorporated into the data processor to protect from any unauthorized access and from being tampered.
The health sensor system (6) incorporates multiple sensors for example the heart scanner, insulin/glucagon sensor, thermometer, blood pressure sensor and any other sensors to detect and monitor health condition of the wearer. The sensor system is designed to detect the health conditions of the wearer and activate or deactivate the stun gun accordingly. If the wearer is unhealthy, the system is able to detect such a condition and automatically deactivates the micro stun gun in order to avoid severe injury to the wearer.
The chemical sensor system (7) incorporates multiple sensors for example drug sensor, alcohol sensor, allergy sensor and any other sensors that can be used to detect chemicals. The sensor system is designed to detect the type, quantity and quality of the chemicals.
The antenna and communication system (8) has the ability to communicate through the satellite and communication tower. The antenna and communication system (8) is designed to communicate to the other anti drug device, to communicate to the other external device, control room and central devices, to locate wearer, for receiving and sending of data, and etc. This system incorporates wireless and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology.
