In each antenna unit, triangular annular grooves are provided in the metal pipe, having narrow longitudinal slots with ferrite inserts disposed therein, and in a split bushing with narrow longitudinal through slots. The triangular annular grooves form an antenna channel, in the centre of which an antenna wire is situated, and the surfaces of the triangular annular grooves are provided with a layer of ceramic based on a mixture of aluminium oxide and titanium dioxide, which is deposited by plasma sputtering and acts both as an insulator and as a highly robust centering aid for the antenna wire.
Description
Compensated electromagnetic logging tool for small diameter wells
The invention relates to the field of geophysical research in wells, and in particular to electromagnetic logging tools, and can be used to measure the electrical characteristics of rocks during drilling of oil and gas wells, as well as geosteering during drilling.
A well-known electromagnetic logging tool during drilling (RF Patent 2231091, G01VZ / 28, publ. 2004), made in the form of a design consisting of two coaxially arranged composite transparent pipes. A significant drawback of this device is that the composite materials are significantly inferior to steel and many other metals in terms of strength and wear resistance to abrasion, which, in the first case, significantly reduces the life of the device, and in the second, it does not allow the device to be made with a small outer diameter for use when drilling sidetracks .
A device is known (Patent США4,808,929. Publ. 1989), which is a shielded induction sensor for downhole equipment. The transmitting and receiving antennas of the downhole tool during drilling, each of which is this device, are located on a metal pipe entering the drill pipe string. The screen of each of the antennas eliminates the electromagnetic field TM, which is interference, created by the current flowing through the antenna wire due to the influence of the pipe metal located close to it, and completely passes the useful electromagnetic field TE. A significant disadvantage of this device is its low reliability associated with low wear resistance to abrasion and erosion of the shielded induction sensor when exposed to a flow of drilling fluid.
1996г).The closest in technical essence to the proposed is the device (prototype) described in the patent "Method and device for downhole research in the process of drilling using advanced antennas" (US Patent 5,530,358 GOlV 3/10, publ. 1996).
This device contains a metal pipe, antenna channels and antenna nodes, each of which contains an antenna wire forming at least one turn, a resonant capacitor, as well as an electronics unit. Moreover, increasing the sensitivity of the receiving and increasing the signal level of the transmitting antennas is achieved using ferrite inserts. The metal pipe is made of hardened steel.
The screen of each antenna is the metal pipe itself at the location of the antenna assembly, which contains a set of longitudinal slots, thereby eliminating the electromagnetic field TM, which is interference, created by the current flowing through the antenna wire due to the influence of the metal pipe located close to it, and is completely free to pass useful electromagnetic field TE.
The specified device uses a compensated signal processing scheme in which transmitting antennas located at an equal distance from the center of the receiving coils on both sides of them sequentially emit a high-frequency signal recorded by the receiving antennas and processed using an electronics unit. However, this device has the following disadvantages. In antenna assemblies, it is very difficult to provide a reliable insulator in the antenna channel that is resistant to mechanical stress during drilling, especially if the device has a small outer diameter.
In addition, the manufacturing technology of the antenna channel provides for a welded joint of an annular groove, a hollow cylindrical tube and a metal pipe. Therefore, in case of failure of the antenna unit, there is no possibility of replacing it, which significantly reduces the life of this device.
The formation of the antenna channel by welding leads to the occurrence of mechanical stresses in the antenna assembly that arise due to changes in the structure of the metals being welded. These stresses can be summed up in individual sections of the welded joint and cause cracking there, which reduces the strength of the antenna assembly and under conditions of significant dynamic loads associated with the drilling process, this can lead to failure of the device, which significantly reduces the reliability of this device.
The purpose of the invention is to ensure the replacement of antenna assemblies, increasing reliability and mechanical strength, which increases the service life of a compensated electromagnetic logging tool during the drilling of small diameter wells.

Figure 9 presents the structural diagram of the electronics unit.
39-40.The electronic circuit of the electronics unit 16 is controlled and the measured signals are processed using the microprocessor 43. The signals from the two outputs of the generator 35, switched by keys 31 and 32, controlled by the microprocessor 43, are transmitted sequentially in time to the transmitting circuits of the transmitting antenna nodes 1 or 4, which emit an electromagnetic wave into the borehole space. After passing through the rock, an electromagnetic wave excites signals in the receiving antennas of the antenna nodes 2 and 3. The signals from the outputs of the antennas go to the inputs of high-frequency amplifiers 29 and 30, from the outputs of which the amplified signals go to the first inputs of the mixers 33 and 34, to the second inputs of which the local oscillator signal from the third output of the generator 35. After converting the high frequency signals received by the antennas to a low intermediate frequency, the intermediate frequency signals from the outputs of the mixers 33-34 are fed to the inputs of amplifiers interstitial frequency 36-37. From the outputs of the intermediate frequency amplifiers 36-37, the signals are fed to the inputs of the phase difference measurement module 38 and to the inputs of the rms voltage meters 39-40. From the output of the phase difference measurement module 38, the phase difference value is supplied directly to the first input of the microprocessor 43, the second and third inputs of which receive the values from the outputs of the analog-to-digital converters 41-42, the inputs of which are connected to the outputs corresponding rms voltage meters 39-40.
In the proposed embodiment of the measuring circuit, the phase difference and the ratio of the amplitudes of the signals from the two receiving antenna nodes are corrected by the microprocessor 40 in order to eliminate errors associated with changes in the ambient temperature causing a change in the parameters of the elements of the electronic circuit and then the apparent resistance of the medium, which is a function of the phase difference and is determined relations of amplitudes of signals from two receiving antennas. The compensated scheme allows eliminating systematic errors from the measurement results or significantly reducing them.
The calculated values of the apparent resistance of the medium are transmitted to the telemetry unit 44 for transmitting this parameter to the surface.
The technical advantages of this invention are to ensure the replacement of antenna assemblies, increasing reliability and mechanical strength, which increases the service life of a compensated electromagnetic logging tool during the drilling of small diameter wells.
