These commands include but not limited to TU: Text update, IU: Image Update, CU: Color update and likewise. These commands along with the unique element id and customized content attributes are then sent to the in-house server of the present invention. The entry (1) to the process will be based on the application/web interface on a networked computing device as well as an application/web interface on the mobile/similar device. Depending upon the type of interface, 2(industry selection), 3 (content library), 4 (original content source) and 5(content customization process) may reside in the client application or on the server side and/or combination thereof. The content library has the contents on various industry verticals. The first entry point is the content selection (2) [Industry Selection + template Content from content library]. The content library is a customized library of the contents based on - different technologies in the network device presentation standards like SVG [Scalable Vector Graphics], Adobe Flash, Microsoft XAML and likewise. Reference is now invited to accompanying figure 6. The content library contains one or more content templates. Every content template includes one or more but not limited to text or image or logo or bitmaps or graphics images or animation or mixed media and/or combination of one or more of thereof stored in single source content storage file and/or relational data storage. These content files are highly optimized using proprietary automated process for removing non required elements and element attributes in the output presentation format files. Proprietary method involves identifying those elements, removing one or more of the elements and/or element attribute, introducing one or more uniquely identifiable element information however not limited to this by the process to create a required file format to make content elements modifiable at the runtime. These modifiable elements can be online modifiable and/or offline modifiable and/or combination of thereof. As mentioned in the invention the file formats are industry standard file formats. During the in house creation or design process of the presentation formats for the content template library the industry standard software tools and technologies are used. These tools create these content templates and create in certain fashion that the elements and /or element attributes and likewise of the content are not useable directly for the customization process. To make it possible dynamically customizable in the present invention the automated process takes the output format file from these tools and technologies and converts these content elements and /or element attributes in to simpler and understandable form for the present invention. Like EX: The editable elements are processed to have unique ids, extra non required information about the style guides like W3C standard CSS (Cascaded style sheet) elements are removed and converted in to simpler standard format. Certain elements are made hidden using inbuilt standard capability and customizable like highlighter elements and cursor elements are processed and created so that these elements are used during the customization process.
1. Online: With Online, content is modified during the content customization process (5) .This customization process may reside on the client network device and/or on the server network device. This process is connected to the service with internet/ similar facility which is broadly termed as online customization of the contents.
2. Offline: Offline customization can be done by one or more following methods however not limited to this. This is broadly termed as offline customization. This gives user more flexibility over the content. a) Network device like (Mobile Application) : Referring to figure 1 , on mobile application, process 1 to 5 may reside on the client network device. Content can be customized and scheduled to be sent to the server. This modified content and/or modified elements however not limited to this can be sent to server when the mobile device gets online over the internet and/or it can also be sent over SMS or MMS or SMS Channel and/or likewise. ,
b) Customization by media like SMS, MMS, EMAIL, Phone and likewise: During customization by SMS, EMAIL, PHONE, MMS and likewise media the process[a] and/or process 5 can reside on the server. During customization, the message is derived to be sent with the certain sequence for the convenience of the user to customize one or more modifiable elements and/or elements attributes. The number of modifiable elements varies for each type of content. In Figure 1, the above mentioned processes a.2, a.3, a.4 (SMS /Email/MMS/Phone and likewise) is part of customization process for SMS or similar updating of the content which is one of the channels for the dynamic customization process.
Reference is then invited to accompanying figure 2 that illustrates the process of content customization and delivery in multiple formats and/or sizes to different display media according to the present invention. During content customization process (5) as shown in figure 1 , the user can modify certain attributes/properties of one or more elements of content which are "modifiable". The modified elements and/or element attributes, along with the content information, however not limited to this, are then sent to the server to store the modified content elements and/or element attributes along with user specific credentials and or content information in relational data storage or likewise. The user modified content elements and/or element attributes along with single source of content is used to display the "preview" of the user modified content to the moderator. During distribution, this content is used to generate user defined content file which is industry standard file formats ex: SVG and similar file format/ relational data storage. This also maintains the intelligence of understanding the structure of the original content template and the user modified elements. The original single source of content and user modified elements are used for creating any subsequent file formats for that particular content with certain proprietary processing involved for conversion. The conversion may be required during distribution of the content.
This proprietary method of conversion involves:
, a. Getting the original source content and user modified content elements from relational storage/file format.
b. Generating complete content, file in industry standard presentation file format like (in SVG/XML and or similar technologies) dynamically
c. Converting these files in other format (ex Jpeg etc) if required using industry standard methods.
d. It can also be converted to XAML with proprietary conversion method. This method involves intelligence of SVG to XAML conversion.
e. Flash: Conversion of files is also done in Flash. It can also be converted to Raster Images (TV), text based format (outdoor digital display screens, indoor digital display screens/ billboards/SMS/MMS/Printed Media games), and streamed XML file for streaming supported devices and channels. The user chooses one of the templates which are based on wide industry categories. This content library is developed in-house or from freelancer designers or likewise. This content library is stored in relational database and original source content template is retrievable at any time. Every content has one or more modifiable elements that can be customized online or offline (SMS, Email or likewise). These elements provide personalization of content that is, ability to change logo, text, text size, image, animation, graphics, audio, video, localization of language and likewise or cosmetic changes to the content for ex: change of background, change of background color, foreground color, font size, font type, alignment and likewise and/or combination of thereof, which user can choose to do as per the interest to give uniqueness to the content. Each of these modifiable elements has its unique id. These unique ids might be internal to application or exposed to the user or combination of thereof. During customization user can customize these elements and their attributes based on the requirement.
Referring to the Figure 1, in the process 7.3, one or more dynamic content elements and/or the exposed elements of the selected content may have the unique ids as "phone", "discount" and likewise. As shown in the Figure 3, "Modified elements by SMS = 2" refers to these unique ids. These elements are modified by SMS or MMS or email or mobile application or likewise. For example: customizing the content by SMS, the simple text message is sent with certain sequence. For example, the SMS may look like "TU Healthy Juice phone 01223333", and can contain other information as well.
As shown in the Figure 3, the selected content template contains one or more images which are modifiable. The user chooses another image from the "Image Library" provided as a part of application or he/she can upload any image."Modifiable user image = 1" and"Modifiable library content = 1" refers to the similar image customization however not limited to only this.
As shown in the Figure 3, during customization of the template content, when the content template is selected for customization, it is wrapped in the in-house developed plugin which is developed in standard computer languages that includes Java, C++ or likewise for the security, compression or likewise features. This plugin is compatible with many leading browsers that includes but not limited to Internet Explorer, Opera and likewise. In addition, the user chooses the distribution screens on which the content would be distributed by in-house and/or like distribution server. These distribution screens can be web, LCD, Mobile and likewise. During distribution on the selected screens, the user chooses the distribution image size. If the content is an advertisement to be displayed on Mobile, the different sizes of that advertisement would comply with MMA. If the content is an advertisement to be displayed on Web the different sizes of that advertisement would comply with IAB. However the sizes are not limited to this, as different sizes may vary as per the distribution screen selected by user. All the user credentials, selected content template, the user modified elements and attributes, selected distribution screens, distribution schedule and likewise information is stored in the relational database or similar format. However the information stored is not limited to only this. During customization of the content, the user may wish to choose the schedule for distribution of the content. If content is used as an advertisement, this schedule can be of an individual advertisement or an advertisement campaign. The content can also be distributed as an art or greeting, digital signage content, TV but not limited to this.
Reference is then invited to accompanying figure 4 that illustrates one of the screens during .the customization of the content template. Each of the content has one or more modifiable elements which can be text, image, audio, video and/or combination of thereof. Each of these modifiable elements has one or more attributes which can also be modified that includes but not limited to text content, text font, colour and size.
Reference is then invited to accompanying figure 5 that illustrates the distribution of the content in multiple sizes on multiple screens. During distribution of that content, the in-house distribution server retrieves the original source content template, all other information about the user modified elements and user specific other information. However the retrieved information is not limited to this. The scheduler schedules the time to fetch the changes from the repository. The content manager then merges the user modified content with single source content which is then converted to the desired output format by the transcoder. The destined output is then optimized and compressed for delivery and finally the output manager stores the output and prepares it for the delivery. All this information is processed to create multiple sizes and/or formats that includes but not limited to 1920x1080, 240x320, 1028x768, 300x250 and likewise on different distribution screens that includes but not limited to digital screens, mobile, web, TV, print and likewise. During this process, different presentation formats that include but not limited to JPEG, JPG and likewise of the same content can also be created. Thus the present invention provides for a process and method of dynamically customizing creating for destined screens and distributing the contents dynamically through any media. Moreover, the present invention works on the content format, which can be standard format adapted for different screen and enhanced to have dynamic modification functionality.
