Abstract

The operating system is used for consumer electronics devices which comprise a plurality of data sources, also a plurality of data sources of the same type, such that, for example, a plurality of radio stations on FM can be played simultaneously. The operating system includes a signal transmitter (4), which can be time-synchronized and is memory-programmable, for emitting control signals which can be selected on the time axis. The operating system moreover contains at least one associated consumer electronics device (1, 2, 3, 7, 8), in which an electronically acting switching unit, which can be controlled by time-dependent signals of the signal emitter (4) for changing between different sources of the consumer electronics devices (1, 2, 3, 7, 8) and for selecting a respective user-specifically determined offering from one or more of said sources. The signal transmitter (4) is time-synchronized by the signals of a radio clock which is installed in the consumer electronics device. The signal transmitter (4) is equipped with a memory-programmable chip on which several user profiles can be stored. The user can compose and program random contents from random available sources using the individual button of said user on the signal transmitter (4).
