Abstract
A radio wave (FM), for example, is used with its full capacity at a given frequency ( any frequency), and it can be loaded with a big number of channels (25-1,000,000 ) can be assigned to show data, fixed pictures, and sometimes, movie pictures ( video) on the screen of the mobile phone with a high degree of clarity ( 120 x 160 pixel, for example ), in addition to small sound files (channels with all fields of information available for broadcasting by various information agencies, states /companies... etc ). A specially programmed server connected to the websites of these channels arranges the information received from the channels using codes made up of bits. Then the received information (data) is transformed from digital to analogical state. Next, the received data is modulated through a frequency modulator. This wave is transmitted, afterwards, from a radio station by means a tall transmission tower. The wave is received on the mobile phones which are equipped with a frequency demodulator and analogical- digital transformer. Finally, the mobile phone which is already and properly equipped and programmed for this purpose( in the factory ), can choose whatever channel to be shown on its screen.
Description
Name of invention:
A NEW TECHNIQUE TO GIVE A HUGE NUMBER OF INFORMATION CHANNELS ON MOBILE PHONE, VERY CHEAP FOR SUBSCRIBERS.
• The invention is basically an information
Communication technology.
Explanation :
Presently , a user of a mobile phone service can get access to
information and news in various fields through his / her mobile phone ( even when moving ) in two ways which both have their own
disadvantages . The first way where a user can get access to news service provided by an information agency or establishment . The User can obtain news daily in a form of SMs (short messages),few words for each news.Sometimes,it can be accompanied by some photos( pictures). This information is transmitted through given frequencies and towers of mobile phone network . Such system has a limited capability compared to internet system , for instance . The second way is activated by making communication through the internet system using the mobile phone in order to get access to news and information in the form of words as well as fixed and movie pictures ( Videos) in addition to sound files .
However, this technique is quite expensive because information is transmitted through and by means of a special frequency and towers of a
net work , where transmitted information occupies a wide band ( spectrum) of radio waves for each mobile phone separately .
As for my new technique , it can be explained as follows :
The technology is based on using a frequency of a radio wave
( e.g . FM ) which can be received by means of a FM radio circuit that can be integrated on a mobile phone set . For example , a 96 mega Hertz frequency can be chosen . And a big number of information channels ( 25- 1,000,000) can be loaded on this frequency .( More details of this technical process is explained below ).We can take , for example , 5000 channels on a given frequency ; each channel presents information and news of all kinds and field of interests ( politics , business, sports , ads, science , education .... Etc . ) that can be shown in a form of a news bar or lines moving horizontally or vertically ( showing data ) accompanied by fixed or movie pictures as short sections with a clearness capability sufficient to issue a good presentation of a news or information on the mobile phone .
Only 160 x 120 pixel degree of clarity is quite sufficient for a mobile phone screen ; it is, sometimes , sufficient for a small sound file . In addition , there can be activated changing technical designs for the screen ( line shape - colour - background- colour and divisions , spaces for pictures , spaces for data . ......etc . ). Data can also be shown in the form of changing/ renewed pages every few seconds , so that enough time is given for reading .
This process is carried out through receiving the radio wave by the mobile phone , in the same way the wave is received by a small radio
set. Information of /5000/channels are arranged on the wave in
sequence, and each channel occupies a defined space on this wave every second of transmission ( each one second of information inflow is idiomatically called " FLUX ") or Transmission Unit . The contract to be signed with mobile phone manufacturers shall state that their production of mobile phone sets are to be supplied with cheap , very small and simple circuits ( which will be mentioned in detail below ) .
Necessary steps for designing, wave transmitting,
receiving and showing on channels :
1- Channel users ( information companies and associations ....etc ) shall provide each channel with information on the website belonging to that channel .
2- Changing ( transforming ) information system from digital to
analogical at the headquarters /main office of the company using this technology through an internet connection ,( one connection or more ) to the server . The server must be capable of realizing consecutive and synchronous reception of the changing (updated ) information on the /5000/ channels on the internet where the information is received as presumably successive and continuous Fluxes , one second each , for instance .
The beginning as well as the end of every Flux is coded with a number of consecutive bits . A code of a number of bits is also designed to precede the information of each channel . The code
that follows the information at the end of a given channel is a code that refers to the termination of the bits carrying the information of the mentioned channel in One Flux ( 1 second transmission )- Then, this data will go under a frequency modulation ( FM) by means of frequency modulator .
- Transmission of radio wave will be carried out by means of a transmission ( broadcasting) station and a high tower built on a high place in the city to achieve the largest possible coverage , As for the reception process on the mobile phone set , it will go through the following steps :
a- The wave will pass through a wave filter .
b- A frequency demodulator will be used to keep the wave
analogical .
c- The wave is then passed through a modulator ( to be
transformed from analogical to digital )
d- The mobile phone , which is especially designed by the
manufacturer , for this purpose , can choose a starting Flux code, then a code for starting the inflow of information from one of the / 5000/ channels . The mobile phone will continue to get the sent information and show it on its screen . The
information will be received consecutively in the form of a Flux each second , which allows the issue of the required picture on the mobile phone screen ( the chosen channel can be the
European football channel , for example ) .
And we can use acircuit to correct an error, supported with the suitable programs.
Note : The information transmitted to any channel in the form
of a code of letters , figures , signs made up of a number of bits + a code that defines the start of information of a fixed picture , in addition to a code defining its end .
The same applies to a movie picture ( video ) +information ( that occupy 1-3 %, e.g. of the transmission volume ) in the form of letters , colours , and screen divisions including data and pictures , in addition to the colours of the screen divisions which are represented by certain codes .
These codes are referred to within the sent information to a given channel through the Flux carrying the required designs which are shown on the mobile screen for a certain time and there will not be necessary to send screen details to every second to every channel ( i.e. pixel by pixel ) in order to press the time and volume of transmission
Note 1 : The company investing this technology shall have to get a
license from the government of each country where the company wishes to have business and needs to use a given broadcasting frequency.
- In case a FM wave with 100 mega Hertz frequency , for
instance , the wave can be loaded with 100 million bits , at least, so that a clear reception can be guaranteed within the
transmission circle ( area) .
To load 5000 channels on the wave , that means/20000/ bit flux every second located for each channel , on average i.e. 20 kilo bits per second for each channel on average. This volume of fluxes is quite sufficient for the relatively very small screen of the mobile phone; it is enough to show on each channel whatever is wanted of data and fixed picture for a duration oflO or30 seconds , and movie pictures for a short period with a clearness of 120 x 160 pixel , in addition to the various designs of the screen ( resolution ) . The information can be shown and renewed continuously and regularly on any channel.
As mentioned above , a starting and an end of information flux for each channel is defined with codes; yet the volume of information assigned per flux/second is not fixed . If data is sent, a relatively few bits are needed, and if the data is
accompanied by a fixed picture, more bits are needed. If it is a movie picture 120 x 160 or it is a small sound file, more bits are allocated depending on the size of the transmitted files . These channels can be accessed free to various information associations ,newspapers, TV channels , organizations ,states.., companies , individuals ..etc. Some channels will realize benefit and profits obtained from subscribers. A small monthly fees, 1 or 2 dollars, can be obtained for subscription for decoding option, for example, to get access to a band of various kinds of interest ( science , sport , news , education , etc ). However , channel users will gain a lot of profits from " ads " advertised
through the mobile system, which is a very effective and remarkable way of advertising .
A simple low-cost broadcasting tower can be sufficient to cover a big city and its suburbs . This technique will enable
subscribers of this service to enter to an enormous number of information channels that cover many fields of interests for a small amount of monthly fees compared to internet subscription fees, ( one dollar subscription is enough to make a big profit for the user company because the cost service is very low. This is the essence of the Inventive Step of this new
technology(invention ) . It is a cheap service because it uses one broadcasting wave and one tower for each city The
transmission through this system is received by all the mobile phones of the subscribers all around the city . It is not necessary to use big volume of radio waves as it is the case when a user makes a call through the internet, system using his/her mobile phone . On such communication a given space on a
broadcasting ( radio ) wave is occupied for each mobile phone call through the internet , which is a very expensive process . This technique , however advanced , will in no way replace the internet, but it will cerate a huge information space in various fields parallel to the internet for very low subscription fees with a 24h/day surfing . The process is similar to receiving
thousands of TV channels from satellites by means of " dishes and receivers " to have the received materials shown on TV.
The difference here is that the presented material is shown on the screen of the mobile phone and the broadcast is received wirelessly once the mobile phone is switched on . The broadcast is coded by the investing company . The company operating the mobile phone network in each country, transmits decoding codes that will be received by the mobile phones of subscribers who will be able .through these codes, to decode all the
channels in coordination with the company investing this technique. The operating company of the mobile phone system in each country will get a certain percentage of profits in exchange of the decoding service.
The number of subscribers in mobile phone network in the world exceeds 5,000,000,000 people in 2011 , according to World Communication Federation (WEF) . Hence , temptation is quite great for most subscribers to benefit from this service since they will get access to a vast information space through their mobile phones for only one dollar a month with 24
hours/day surfing potential . There will be transmission in the languages of many countries . The cost of translation into many languages will easily be compensated by big countries whose people speak or use only one or two languages,
so specially in big countries like China,India and Arab countries.
I have mentioned all these details above to show that a presumed company which may present this service will gain a lot of profit due to big number of subscribers, at the same time a comparatively very low cost is required for preparing the information to be loaded on the wave through a broad cost station and service . In a city with 5,000,000 population, for example , one radio tower is enough to cover the whole area of the city . It is quite expected that half the mobile phone users will join this new service , which guarantees a successful application of this new technology .
Taking, for example , countries like USA, UK , Canada , and Australia English speaking people a radio wave , loaded with 5000 channels is prepared in one American city . Then the loaded wave is transmitted to a satellite that covers the above mentioned countries .
In every city , NY for example , there is a branch station for the operating company which receives the transmitted wave by means of dish and a receiver ( like the ones used for a TV ) . The branch station and a radio tower on a high place , broadcasts the received materials to the subscribers (users) who receive the wave through their mobile phone wherever they are in their city . They can serf thousands of channels, already at hand
Note 2: What guarantees the profit(relating to protection claims) is
that people usually change their mobile
phone sets almost every 1-2 years on average , which is the period needed for establishing the business of the investing company . Also manufacturing companies can produce and market simple and cheap mobile phones with a reasonable size screen , and necessary circuits which can be afforded even by poor people.
Note 3 :The company which will have the right to invest this
technique, will operate through branch stations in each group of countries ( states ) that speak the same language .
Translators ( or spontaneous translation programs ) can be used. The cost of such service will be very economical compared to the big profits gained from vast number of subscribers . ( I mention all these details to guarantee the approval to inventive step) .
Note 4: Even for people who can't read , a special " Data Reader
Program " is integrated in the mobile phone, so that users can see and listen to information instead of reading it . This will
be quite a temptation for a big numbers of users .
Note 5: All the techniques mentioned above are well known and
already in use in various ways , but in our invention they are combined to serve a new purpose which is unique and interesting.
Claims
Claims That Require Protection :
1- Assignment of ( 25 - 1000,000 ) channels specially designed for showing on the mobile phone ,data and fixed pictures, small video shots with 120 x 160 pixel clearness, short continuously renewed sound sections of all kinds of subjects, that can be made available to all information and media establishments, governments or any other parties . These parties can send ( transmit) information to web sites relating to 5000 channels , for example , loaded on FM wave with 100 mega Hertz ( for instance) to the internet, through an internet connection and a server specially programmed for this purpose . The server would accumulate the data from the above mentioned 5000 channels , then transform it from digital to analogical system ( server shall be capable of receiving changing data successively and synchronously in the websites of the 5000 channels in the form of " default " sections of transmission time, one second each .
The start of every transmission section is coded with a number of successive bits,so that the beginning of that transmission section is defined with these bits. The same process applies to the final transmission section for determining its end . Also , a multi-bit code would define the starting bits of everyone of 5000 channels, as well as other multi-bit code that defines the end of bits belonging to the same channel .
After changing the data into an analogical form , it is passed through a frequency modulation (FM) by means of frequency modulator . Finally , the wave is transmitted by broadcast station and a tall tower fixed on a high place.
From the base, where a server collects information and loads it on a FM wave , the wave will be transmitted to a TV ( Channel) satellite that covers a given area. The transmitted satellite TV wave is received in that particular area by means of a T V dish and a receiver. The wave is re-transmitted as a FM wave through a broadcast station and a tall tower , so that the wave can be
received clearly by a mobile phone in and about the city , even if the user is moving.
To subscribe in news service on mobile phones, gives users a limited chance of getting small amount of information , and communication on internet by mobile phone is very expensive. The two above mentioned means for obtaining information need booking certain space on transmission waves for each mobile phones separately. However the new technology , 1 present herein, can help users to get access to a huge number of channels which broadcast all forms of information for a very cheap monthly subscription . The cost of applying this technique is so small because it uses only one wave and needs one transmission tower that can cover all the mobile phones used within and about the city It is also possible to load information on one of the waves MW, SW1 , SW2 or SW3
2- New mobile phones with an integrated receiving circuits ( systems should be manufactured in a way that they can be able to carryout the new service :
- A Frequency demodulating circuit ( to keep the wave
information analogical
- A transformer ( from analogical to digital )
- Programming the mobile phone through an integrated circuit whose function is to select and present information from any channel ,in addition to a memory circuit to save the designs received on the mobile phone screen continuously, and a circuit for receiving decoding codes which are transmitted by the mobile phone operating company in coordination with the company which invests this new technique.
And we can use acircuit to correct an error, supported with the suitable programs.
