Abstract

The invention relates to a reservoir (01) for a printing device (21), comprising a data module (07) which has a transmitter and/or receiver unit for contactless communication with a printing device (21), the reservoir (01) being transferable from a first to a second operating state by applying negative pressure to an interior (06) of the reservoir (01), and the outer body (02) of the reservoir (01) having a shape in the second operating state that is different from the first operating state and/or the outer body (02) consisting at least to some extent of a mixture of an HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and an LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene). The invention also relates to a method for emptying the reservoir (01), which is initially in the first operating state. According to the invention, a normal direction (A) of the data module (07) has a first orientation and the reservoir is transferred to the second operating state by applying negative pressure to the interior of the reservoir, in which second operating state the normal direction (A) of the data module (07) has a second orientation that differs from the normal direction (A) in the first operating state by not more than 60°.
