Abstract

The invention relates to a storage device for storing at least one portable electronic processing unit in which an unauthorized removal of the processing unit is prevented. Up-to-date data relating to the person authorized to remove said processing unit or information relating to the location or up-to-date software versions is contained in said processing unit. The storage device (100) for storing at least one portable electronic processing unit (12) comprises at least one receiving means (11) for receiving the at least one portable electronic processing unit (12), said storage device also comprises at least one securing means (27) designed to prevent and authorize the removal of the at least one electronic processing unit (12) from the receiving means (11). Said storage device also comprises data input means (14) for inputting personal data and is also designed such that after a central control unit (17) has verified data relating to the person, input by the data input means (14), the removal of the at least one electronic processing unit (12) from the receiving means (11) can be authorized by means of the securing means (27) and said unit can be removed from the receiving means (11).
