Communication Timelines
As I worked on this project, and did lots of research, I came to notice that one of my favorite things to use to represent my project and look at was interactive visual aids. Not just pictures, but things like time lines, maps, letters, diagrams, etc. The ones that interested me the most, of course were the Primary Sources, because they were pieces of direct history, for example telegraph letters from Abraham Lincoln in the Civil War. But I also eally enjoyed the secondary Sources such as timelines. One inventor that interested be the most was Granville Woods, because of his early interest in inventing, and his determination to help the society to advance in technology and communication. So below is a timeline that shows Granville Wood's life, and some of his advances in inventions.

Another timeline that contributes to the Communication advances is the timeline of the inventions in the life and of Alexander Graham Bell, of course a very famous inventor, who invented the telephone. This timeline shows the inventions that were happening around him through his whole life, and basically what inspired him. This timeline spans from when he was born in 1847 to when he died in 1922, and it shows all the inventions that happened in between, including the telegraph line connecting places, the first color photograph, the electric motor, radio waves, the light bulb, and of course the first Nobel Prize for Physics awarded to Wilhelm Roentgen.
This timeline is very specific on showing the evolution of the telephone, and how it has grown over the years. I think it's a great timeline that shows how much the telephone has helped us through the years, and how much it have evolved.
This is a zoomed in picture of the timeline from the 1600's to the 1900's
This is a zoomed in picture of the timeline that shows the 1900's up to 2009
This shows some facts about the telephone, and how many telephone lines have been built in each country throughout the years.
This is another great brief timeline, that shows the evolution of communication, but not only is it the telephone, but it also includes the telegraph.
