My daughter and I had 8 wonderful nights in suite 1203. Our housekeeping males, Ajith and Prahlad were very friendly, polite and courteous. They did an extremely good job making sure our suite was clean and tidy everyday. Certainly an asset to Fairmont The Palm.

The Fairmont on the palm is a wonderful hotel. Cannot fault the service. food, accommodation and can't wait to return. Abbas, an employee of the front desk team, deserves a special mention for his warmth and professionalism and made us smile with his personality! Keep up the good work!

Great second stay at this lovely hotel

We visited in April 2024 for another stay at this great hotel. We were travelling as a family (with a 3 year old) and stayed in the double queen room again. Again, we found the hotel staff so attentive and they were always so friendly and welcoming with us, but especially our daughter - even management staff. We were glad to see some of the staff members that we had got to know from our previous trip again this time round too! A special shout out to: Jestoni and John by the pool area - both were so attentive to our needs and more than that, just so friendly everyday we were by the pool. Also to Russel, who came to say hello to us every day, even though he was serving in a different area by the pool. Kaouter at the Flow Kitchen, who was always so welcoming and Abbal Singh, the fantastic chef who catered for our needs when we wanted to eat something in particular. He was great in offering up options for us and coming to check all was okay after it had been served. Really appreciated him taking the time to do so. Waqar served our table on a few occasions and he too was so kind to our daughter each time we met him. He was also very attentive and remembered our drinks orders from the previous nights too! Also to Rabin (unsure of spelling) at the Sea Grill restaurant who served us well and again was very accommodating with our needs. And we cannot forgot Mohit, who we asked to see and although disappointed he was not working at the time we were eating, we waited to see him to say hello as he was so kind to us on our previous visit. We also told Mohit that we would be leaving two days later, but would come by to the restaurant the next day and were pleasantly surprised to hear that he arrived earlier for his shift so that he did not miss us. What a lovely chap! Although I have named a handful, every member of staff that we encountered during our stay were absolutely fantastic and always welcomed us with a smile - also Abbas at the main reception who at checking in at 3am kept our daughter entertained. What a great team you have at Fairmont - that along with the fantastic facilities, rooms, restaurants and pools, make it a fantastic restaurant. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel - great location, short distance from airport and easy access to many sites (should you want to leave!). Also thank you for setting up balloons and cake as we celebrated two birthdays! Such a lovely touch :) We cannot wait to return soon and see what you have done with the Flow Kitchen! Tip - love that the hotel has removed plastic bottles by the pool area, so if you are travelling, take a large refillable bottle and ask for an ice bucket to keep it cool. There are reusable cups available, but water does not stay cool for too long!

Excellent food; non-existent service

My wife, my infant daughter and I checked in the hotel and on our request were provided a room of our choice. Things went downhill from there as we continuously needed help from the in-room dining team in terms of boiled/pureed vegetables for our daughter. Firstly, none of the buttons on the phone (Housekeeping, In-room dining, Operator etc.) were working and out of desperation, we tried till the "Royal" service connected and we were able to order. One of the staff later guided us on how that was the only way to reach anyone in the property. Additionally, every time we needed assistance, it would be delayed to an extent that our infant daughter and we were badly affected but since we had no option, we felt very helpless. We dined in three of their restaurants and were quite happy with the food and the service as well. The staff during breakfast and during dinner at Ba and at Little Miss India (especially Chef Arif at LMI) went out of their way to serve our needs and honestly that's the only good thing we remember from our experience. Our experience at the restaurants earned three extra points on this review otherwise it would be a one on 10. One very important point that we were not apprised of at check-in is that since we were never asked to pay any amount as a Deposit, every time we ordered in-room or ate at any of the restaurants including at the beach, we needed to physically pay and settle the bills there and then. That was extremely annoying and if only we were asked at check-in, we would be happy to oblige and pay the deposit accordingly. Since we needed simple Indian infant food to be prepared fresh at all hours, we were refused service till their specialty restaurant was open for service. Even after it was open, it took one full day to explain the simple need for a Chapati (Roti) which is the basic Indian bread commonly consumed across majority Indian households. Only Chef Arif was able to come to our rescue however not before it affected our daughter's eating schedule. By the end of it all, we were so harassed with it all that on the day of checkout, we decided to leave early since the in-room dining would not arrange for simple Indian food required for our child and to accommodate her eating schedule, we checked in to another hotel that was more than willing to cater to our needs overall. Even though I wanted to share all this feedback with your team at check-out, the fact that I wasn't even asked "How was your stay" by your team simply etched the feeling of being unimportant guests at your property. Asking feedback on the stay is very basic and the fact that even that was missed makes me want to forget this entire experience overall. Since I was sent an automated email on feedback on our stay, I have chosen to write about this without the slightest of expectation from Fairmont.
