1982 F.W. & Associates Pontiac Trans Am-Style Go-Kart & Pontiac Turbo Trans Am Hood

This go-kart was constructed by F.W. & Associates of Tempe, Arizona, on November 21, 1982, to resemble a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. It was purchased by the seller in 2021 and subsequently refurbished. The kart features fiberglass bodywork finished in black over a tubular steel frame, and power comes from a replacement 79cc Predator single. Features include gold body accents and Trans Am decals, a drum brake, 6″ wheels with basketweave-style covers, chain drive, a single seat, and a three-spoke steering wheel. This Pontiac Trans Am-style go-kart is now offered at no reserve in Point Pleasant Boro, New Jersey, with a hood from a second-generation Pontiac Turbo Trans Am and a bill of sale.
Previously finished in red, the fiberglass bodywork was repainted in black under the seller’s ownership and fitted with gold accents and custom Trans Am decals. Photos taken during the paintwork can be seen in the gallery below.
The gold-painted steel wheels feature basketweave-style covers and are mounted with 12×6.00–6 Cheng Shin bias-ply slicks. The tubular steel frame was finished in black Rhino liner during the refurbishment and fitted with replacement tie rods and bushings. Stopping power is provided by a drum on the rear axle that was installed under the seller’s ownership.
The cockpit features a single black seat. A three-spoke steering wheel sits aft of foot pedals mounted above the front axle.
The replacement 79cc Predator single was factory-rated at three horsepower, and it sends power to the rear axle via a drive chain.
A hood sourced from a second-generation Pontiac Turbo Trans Am was sprayed with clearcoat by the seller, and it is included in the sale.
