August Aichhorns vor 90 Jahren erschienenes Buch Verwahrloste Jugend bietet angewandte Psychoanalyse für Sozialarbeit und Sozialpädagogik. Ausgehend vom damaligen Entwicklungsstand psychoanalytischer Theorie und Technik hielt Aichhorn, so wie Sigmund Freud, eine psychoanalytische Behandlung verwahrloster Jugendlicher dagegen noch nicht für möglich. Viele seiner Überlegungen sind visionär und finden sich in späteren psychoanalytischen Konzepten wieder, die Psychotherapie mit deprivierten, strukturschwachen Kindern und Jugendlichen heute möglich machen. Aichhorns Forderungen sind zeitgemäß und zum Teil noch immer nicht verwirklicht.
Anhand der Entwicklung eines aggressiven, hypermotorischen siebenjährigen Buben im Lauf einer psychoanalytischen Kinderpsychotherapie am Wiener Institut für Erziehungshilfe werden Verbindungen zwischen Aichhorns wegweisender Schrift und der klinischen Praxis hergestellt.

Droids, Gods and IS Warriors. Potentialities and limitations of psychoanalytic understanding and healing from August Aichhorn to the early 21st century
August Aichhorn’s book Wayward Youth, published 90 years ago, is a major essay in applied psychoanalysis for social workers and social pedagogues. Proceeding from psychoanalytic theory and technique as it had developed at the time, Aichhorn – like Sigmund Freud – considered that the time was not yet ripe for psychoanalytic therapy for «wayward» youngsters. Many of his ideas are visionary and recur in a number of later psychoanalytic blueprints crucial for present-day psychotherapeutic work with deprived children and adolescents with structural problems. Aichhorn’s insights and claims have lost none of their actuality, and many of them have yet to be acted upon.
The author describes the progress made by an aggressive, hypermotoric seven-year-old boy during a course of psychoanalytic child psychotherapy at the Viennese Child Guidance Clinic, pointing up connections between Aichhorn’s pioneering book and clinical practice today.

Le livre d’August Aichhorn « Jeunes en souffrance » paru il y a 90 ans propose une psychanalyse appliquée à l’usage des travailleurs sociaux et des socio-pédagogues. Partant de la situation de la théorie et technique psychanalytique de son époque, Aichhorn, comme Sigmund Freund, n’estimait pas encore possible le traitement d’adolescents abandonnés par la psychanalyse. Beaucoup de ses réflexions sont visionnaires et se retrouvent dans des concepts psychanalytiques ultérieurs qui rendent aujourd’hui possible la psychothérapie d’enfants et d’adolescents carencés et insuffisamment structurés. Conformes à leur époque, les exigences d’Aichhorn n’ont toujours pas été toutes réalisées.
En suivant l’évolution d’un petit garçon de sept ans agressif et hyperactif au long d’une psychothérapie psychanalytique infantile à l’Institut de l’Aide à l’éducation de Vienne, l’auteure établit les rapports entre le livre novateur de Aichhorn et la pratique clinique.
