Ireland's legislation requires VAT to be charged on event tickets. Continue scrolling for further information on reclaiming the VAT fee.
VAT Refund Information: Ireland is required to charge VAT on event services, however, Irish VAT legislation provides for mechanisms whereby Foreign VAT registered traders who pay VAT in Ireland during the course of their business can reclaim this VAT subject to certain conditions being met. For foreign traders established within the EU, a reclaim can be made by submitting an “Electronic VAT Refund (“EVR”) claim” in the Member State in which they are established. Foreign Traders established outside of the EU can make a claim for VAT paid by completing a “Form VAT 60OEC” and submitting this with Revenue along with certain supporting documentation provided certain conditions are met. Claims for refunds of VAT can be made for both ticket costs and also VAT incurred on qualifying accommodation in Ireland on the basis the conference will be a “Qualifying Conference” as attached. We are aware that this is an additional administrative task for attendees, however reclaiming VAT will help to reduce the cost burden which arises as a result of VAT being charged on the event tickets.
