Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s daughter Aimee has explained why she refused to join her famous family in their hit MTV series, saying she valued her privacy too much.

The couple’s other two children Kelly and Jack shot to fame in The Osbournes, which aired from 2002 to 2005 and was hugely popular.

But their big sister Aimee decided not to join in and even moved out at 16 because she didn’t want the cameras documenting her life.

Opening up about her choice in an interview with New York’s Q1043 radio, Aimee said when the question of the reality show arose she realised it “didn’t really line up” with the way she saw her own future.

“For me, I had grown up around having a pretty well-known dad anyway, and I always really valued my privacy within that family," said Aimee, who is now 36.

"And for me personally, and for who I am, you know, as far as morally and also just to give myself a chance to actually develop into a human being as opposed to just being remembered for being a teenager, it didn't really line up with what I saw my future as.”

The programme added to Black Sabbath star Ozzy’s fame and also thrust Sharon, Kelly and Jack into the limelight.

Aimee, who has followed in her musical dad’s footsteps and is the singer of a band called ARO, said that although “it definitely worked great for the rest of my family”, for her, she “just knew it was never something that I would have been able to consider realistically”.
