Change Starts from Within

All people have the capacity to change and become aware. As their consciousness grows, compassion, presence, and health radiate outward.

The Gruben Charitable Foundation funds projects cultivating inner growth on Aquidneck Island in order to protect its ecology, rehabilitate communities, and help them flourish.

Though small, our island vibrates with health, civic, and ecological efforts. We support conscious initiatives harnessing this vibrant potential for immense impact.

By empowering communities and organizations locally—much like a microcosm—we believe change will reverberate and spread globally.

Why Inner Growth?

While material prosperity may be rising, suffering still permeates our island, both externally through poverty, crime, illness and pollution, and internally within the human spirit. To create positive change, we must address both outer and inner dimensions.

Many nonprofit initiatives are geared towards external problems but fail to address internal sources.

CORE PRINCIPLES

HARMONY and Depth

Our approach integrates elements like nature, dance, music, visual art, theatre, martial arts, and active community involvement. We prioritize initiatives that benefit Aquidneck Island, particularly those that encourage profound personal transformation, raise consciousness levels, and cultivate a strong sense of community solidarity.

SERVICE

Our team embodies the values of service in every aspect of its work, which greatly enhances our collaboration with partner organizations and amplifies the impact of our philanthropic endeavors.

COMPASSION

We support proactive organizations that, in turn, aid individuals in their journey of self-improvement, ensuring our resources are allocated with discernment and clear boundaries. Our approach embeds empathy with boundaries.

Laws of nature

We oppose contemporary attempts to manipulate the natural order, advocating for respect for nature's laws. This emphasizes the body's innate capacity for healing, placing it above the reliance on pharmaceutical interventions. Our stance is firmly in favor of holistic approaches and natural remedies.
