Wed. June 29 Wed. June 20th, 1979. The United Nations, New York City - The Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Murray MacLehose met with Secretary General Kurt Wasdheim amid growing International conscern of the South East Asian immigration problem. After the meeting, Sir Murray MacLehose pointed out that there were already 56,000 Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong and more were arriving at a rate of 24,000 a month. O.P.S. After his meeting with the Secretary General Sir MacLehose stopped in the Security Council which was meeting on the problem of the Sahara. Left is Richard the outgoing Perm Rep. for the United Kingdom, the United Nations, right Sir Murray MacLehose.
