Shabon Dama's ZX-12R

Ideally, all customization should be done by the same shop. Sometimes, however, this is not always the case. The owner of this ZX-12R had originally commissioned customization work to another shop, the staff in charge of the customization resigned, and the work stopped on half way. Then he asked Shabon dama to customize and maintain his bike, and Shabon dama has been working on it ever since.

Shabon dama modified the rear brakes. AP Racing caliper is installed in accordance with the owner's request. The rear rotor is one-off, taking into consideration the balance with the front. Regular maintenance is essential for a bike like this that uses many racing parts. This includes not only general oil changes, but also overhauls of the front and rear suspension, brakes. In the case of this bike, special work such as mapping changes using a performance chip. Only a shop with a proven track record in customizing a wide range of models and a broad network can handle this kind of work. This is a case that could only be handled by Shabon dama, which has handled a large number of custom parts as a large accessory shop.

Bodyworks

The windshield is MRA racing type to improve the wind protection effect at high speeds. The new one is taller than the stock, so the rider does not have to lean forward.

The bodyworks feature a two-tone color scheme of yellow and black, with black areas dressed up with carbon fiber. The air intakes and tank cap are also tightened with carbon fiber.

The seat was changed to a cozy seat to improve comfort during long-distance touring. The flat seat surface helps the rider support their body during acceleration and deceleration and improves the hold.

Electrical

cp137_shabondama_zx-12r_10.jpg

The tail lamp has been changed to LEDs to improve visibility from behind and to differentiate the bike from others. LEDs consume less power, have sufficient light intensity, and have no risk of running out of light.

The air duct is made of carbon fiber by A-TECH. The lights have been upgraded with an HID kit from Absolute, which ensures a bright field of vision even when riding at night and helps improve visibility.

Intake & Exhaust

The exhaust was replaced with a BEET NASSERT R to increase power and reduce weight. The optimal map was created with a performance chip to get the full effect of the new exhaust.

Engine

A Power Commander is installed to control the fuel injection and maximize the effects of using an exhaust and a ram air cleaner. This model is one of the early models to transition to fuel injection, so there is also an aim to correct injection-specific issues such as abrupt throttle response.

Chassis

AGRAS rearsets were chosen for their ease of operation and high performance in holding. They have a stylish design that adds a dress-up effect to the bike, and they can be positioned in any of the four available positions.

The front forks are Ohlins for Ducati 916. The wheels are JB Power mag forged wheels, resulting in a significant weight reduction, while AP Racing calipers and disc rotors are used for the brakes.

The rear shocks, along with the front forks, are all by Ohlins. They can be used in a wide range of settings and can be easily reset to suit the riding situation.

Although In-Rich swingarm by BEET is discontinued product, but it is reinforced version of the stock. The increased rigidity improves road-following performance.

AP Racing caliper is used for the rear brake as well as the front, but the rotor is one-off by Plusμ. They are smaller in diameter than the stock ones for improving the bike's overall control.

Handle

cp137_shabondama_zx-12r_07.jpg

The brake on this bike is unified with AP Racing products, as the owner's other bikes are unified with Brembo. Although the master cylinder appears to be mounted horizontally, it is actually AP Racing radial pump.
