One does not expect terrifically composed, organic, fresh food at two in the morning. But sometimes one is pleasantly surprised.

Such was the case for me late on a recent Saturday night (early on a Sunday morning?) in Munich. My red-clad crew and I had just cleaned up from a super cool event and were in need of sustenance.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I entered this futuristically designed late night burger joint with a vaguely Japanese æsthetic. A crisply written menu of burger options lay before me. I opted for the green meal deal which included a cheeseburger, Provence potatoes and a housemade iced tea for under €10.

I watched all of our food being grilled to order: the burgers, their buns, the potatoes. This was somewhat hard given my slightly ravenous state but it was nice to know they don't start cooking until you order. The result was an exceptionally juicy burger - cooked a true medium - a bun hearty enough that it held up all the way to the end and lovely, crisp and herby potatoes that could easily make you forget fries. And the housemade iced tea was a lovely berry flavour with little to no sweetener (read: perfect!)

Day or night, I'd gladly return to Cosmogrill!

Maybe I was just hungry, but this burger blew me away! I was seeing a show around the corner at Atomic Cafe, and I asked the door girl to recommend a quick bite that wasn't McDonald's. She sent me here, and I was pleased to see a huge burger menu (that I could not read). I ordered the special, having no idea what it was, and was pleasantly surprised when I received my burger with mushrooms and all sorts of other fresh ingredients. Bummed I didn't have a chance to go back and eat there again!

Cosmo Grill used to be good, but something has changed since August 2016. Maybe new owners, reducing the size of the burgers, hey come on. Even so, the burgers still taste better than the frozen trendy garb garb at Hans & Gluck.
Sorry, new owners destroyed a once good thing.

Best Burger in MUC. Delicious meat and awesome sauces. I also love the business hours of this burger joint. Cosmo close its doors quite late

For a place that specializes in burgers I would expect a lot better. I cannot actually comment on the quality of the meat as I was not even able to consume mine. My order was a to go order and I specified that the meat should be cooked throughout. This was a health reason for the time period as I usually am a fan of a medium done burger. Instead I got a burger that was dark on the outside and not pink but RED throughout. Since it was a to go order there was no way of getting that fixed so I just took the meat out and went to town on the avocado burger. The bun was stale and fell apart quickly and the avocado was hard.

My friends orders were actually cooked pink throughout so I am not sure why the one that was specified to be cooked longer was cooked less and cold in the middle. What I did notice about the BBQ bacon burger though and was a complaint of my friend is that it was absolutely smothered in sauce dripping from all sides completely masking the taste of anything else. This just lead to a big mess with the stale bun also falling apart.

In general, I have had much better in Munich. One last note to mention though is if there is a burger of the month and it is only the middle of the month, what kind of business runs out of it? Get it together, guys.

Since I lived in Munich for 5 years it took me another 4 years to come back and to try the Cosmo Grill. Honestly I expected great things because a lot of good friends told me, it's very nice!

First of all I have to say the waitress Anna-Theresa is one of the friendliest staff members I've ever met!!! Also the other staff members are very friendly!!! But the Burgers and the sides are more average/low! Therefor they are too expensive! I ordered my burger medium (fail). The burger-sauce was some kind of strange, there might be a bit too much coriander in there. With this burger I really missed the full taste which I expect when I order a burger! The potatoes were just normal fried potatoes, a bit to raw for me. I would suggest to serve some nice dips with the potatoes (not only normal ketchup). An please stop serve "Pommes Frites Sauce", nobody likes that... Serve instead normal mayonnaise ;)!

Anyway, I would love if they would adjust their products and recipes...

The Idea of Cosmogrill is great, unfortunately the reality is much different. Not great, and only moderately good.

If I was asked, I'd say "meh."

Better than McMueller, not as good as Killians.

A small burger place off the back of the Maximilianstr. and small being the operative word here. Thursdays are burger days, and this is one of our favourites for lunch. The burgers are cooked to order and you have a number of choices for meat and topping. No fries, but potato skins, though that is not what they are, just small new potato halves in a number of dressings with rosemary being one of the favourites in our group. I myself go for a packet of crisps with my burger and some zulu sauce to further spice up my burger.

In is pricey, and I do not often feel I got value out of them. Rather then serve a plain burger in a plate, they could throw in a bt of salad, some fries, I dont know, put something else in the damn plate to give the impression of value.

The staff seems to be different each time I visit and they are a little dissorganised. A backlog of 6 burgers seems to leave them a little confused but it all works out in the end :-)

My rating would be a 2 for this place, but as some of my lunch partners rave about the food here, I will push it to a 4 for them.

This is a small burger bar so if there are lots of you go somewhere else. The burgers themselves are excellent
but the service somewhat slow. Perhaps it's because
one is used to burgers being fast food. There is a great deal of choice but as far as the chips go (potato wedges) you are better off buying a bag of chrisps. The burgers are not cheap but are of top quality.

First understand most places in Germany that I have visited couldn't serve a good hamburger if it saved their life. Germans think of McDonalds or Burger King as hamburgers so anything above that quality is considered good by their standards. Having said that and suffered from more bad hamburgers in Germany I can tell you that Cosmo grill is pretty darn good. Not perfect but good. They have fresh meat and if you ask for it medium rare they serve it as asked. The potatoes are good as well but nothing to write home about. They beat Han N Gluck by a mile.
