The FRITZ! Box Fon 5124 is an ADSL2+ router and a PBX for both voice-over IP and fixed-line telephony. AVM’s traffic shaping prioritizes data so efficiently that users can surf the Web and make several simultaneous phone calls of excellent sound quality, free from any interference.
Two analog extensions connect telephones and fax machines to the Internet and the fixed phone line. As opposed to many other Internet telephony solutions, AVM’s routers support voice-over IP or fixed-line telephony even when the computer is turned off.
The FRITZ! Box Fon 5124 connects up to four computers, game consoles, and other network-enabled devices to the Internet with ADSL2+ performance. The preconfigured firewall and port forwarding features guarantee safe surfing, both when working as a modem and as a router.
The USB host port allows applications such as printers and storage media to be shared throughout the entire LAN. A wide range of helpful convenience features are accessible to all connected terminal devices. Also, free software updates help users upgrade their communication equipment.

In addition to excellent voice fidelity, FRITZ! Box Fon 5124 also supports features such as parallel calls, call waiting, call forwarding, caller ID and three-party conference calls. Up to 10 individual VoIP accounts can be stored, even with different providers.
Thanks to intelligent traffic shaping, a consistently high-quality voice signal is guaranteed. Data traffic (upload and download) is optimally distributed. Advanced bandwidth management permits high-speed surfing and simultaneous maintenance of voice quality by dynamically adapting the bandwidth available for non-voice data.

The FRITZ!Box 7590 is the top model among the AVM FRITZ! routers. With this router, manufacturer AVM promises a super-fast WiFi connection. In addition, the router has mesh, so you get wireless internet throughout the entire house
You can either enter http://fritz.box or the IP address of the FRITZ!Box (http://192.168.178.1 in the factory settings) to open the user interface. In addition, you can always use the emergency IP http://169.254.1.1 to access the FRITZ!Box. It is not possible to open the user interface via the guest access.
The Info LED on your FRITZ!Box indicates various operation statuses. If the Info LED flashes red, it means that there is a FRITZ!Box error. If the Info LED flashes green, this indicates various events, for example, receipt of a new message or a new fax.
You should see 2 text fields where you can enter a username and a password. The default username for your FRITZ BOX router is admin. The default password is admin.
The average power consumption is 9 – 10 watts and a maximum of 30 watts.
VPN software you can establish a secure VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection over the internet from your Windows computer to your FRITZ!Box. This allows you to access your FRITZ!Box and devices in your home network with your computer even when you are away from home
