The FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270 is much more than a wireless ADSL2+ router: it is a VoIP, ISDN, and analog PBX, even serving as a base station for up to 5 cordless telephones in high-definition quality. Equipped with MIMO technology and 2.4 or 5 GHz support, its 3 antennas transmit data at up to 300 Mbit/s, so you can enjoy high-definition multimedia streaming and make phone calls at the same time. The WLAN connection is pre-encrypted to the highest standard (WPA2), and in combination with the FRITZ! WLAN USB Stick, the connection is already set up – so there is no need for user configuration.
The USB 2.0 high-speed host port allows printers, storage media, and audio-visual material to be shared throughout the entire LAN. A wide range of helpful convenience features is accessible to all connected PCs. Also, free software updates help users upgrade their communication equipment.
Two analog extensions support VoIP or fixed-line telephony and fax machines even when the computer is off. AVM’s efficient traffic shaping permits multiple phone calls and high Web traffic; thus, four computers or other network devices have simultaneous Internet access at ADSL2+ speed.
The preconfigured firewall and port forwarding features guarantee safe surfing. And by simply pressing a button, the WLAN connection can be enabled and disabled.

WLAN 802.11n
The FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270 enables users to enjoy WLAN connections with the wireless standard of the future, IEEE 802.11n (Draft 2.0), at 2.4 GHz and also in the very low-interference 5 GHz band. This gets users ready for future WLAN developments. MIMO multiple antennas (multiple inputs and multiple outputs) increase the range, quality, and data rate of the WLAN connection.
Thanks to the preconfigured, individual WPA/WPA2 encryption, the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270 is already secure when it leaves the factory.
DECT base station and answering machine
The integrated DECT base station enables you to use up to 5 cordless phones. Depending on the configuration, the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270 allows for up to 5 answering machines, each with its own phone number. Set-up and maintenance are convenient and take place on the user-friendly FRITZ!Box surface.
Save energy with FRITZ!
With the eco mode, the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270 adapts to the amount of data transfer, resulting in optimum energy consumption. When not in use, processor performance is minimized and unused interfaces are turned off. Thanks to the WLAN night switch, the length of transmission time can be set or turned off manually.
More possibilities with USB 2.0
The high-speed USB port allows for new applications in the network. So the user can connect the hard drive containing their entire music collection and listen to it via the local network (UPnP AV). USB printers and storage devices can also be used in the network: you can work on documents while they’re located in the USB storage device and share the content with others online.
